  This company is a rip off electricity provider. The gimmick is, they charge 2 to 4 times the rate for "supply charges" over the existing electric provider. Then they have a website that does a points system (like a credit card rewards program) that you can use to redeem points for coupons, like 10% off your next meal at ***** ****** (as an example). In other words, it's a complete ripoff. They prey on older folks in particular. There is no possible way the reward points would ever make up for the HUNDREDS of dollars they charge over your original supply charge for electricity.
  Here's a direct comparison: **** in NJ has two charges on their bill. "Delivery" ($0.04/kWh), and "Supply" (around $0.12/kWh). Pure Energy takes over the "Supply" charge, for $0.36/kWh. That's 3 times the **** rate! The last bill, the difference was $142 for Pure Energy versus $58 if we had stuck with ****.
  Worst part was, my 85 year old mother was on paperless billing and didn't notice she was on Pure Energy for over two years!

  Pure Energy should be called Pure Scam. I signed p for them because rates were competitive, after a while they went up more than double my electric supplier. I switched to someone else after paying two nearly $600 dollar bills. Normally was under $200 but due to health issues I didn't see it and it was autopay (not their fault). When I switched things went back to normal then started getting high again. Somehow they switched me back and I didn't talk to them or authorize it. Only my name is on the account so I had it switched again but not before another high bill. Worst company and customer service is a complete joke. Don't get roped in like I did and keep an eye on your bill so they don't switch you back. Not sure how that is even legal. They should be investigated, fined and shut down. If negative stars were an option they've earned it

  This company is so a scammer. They call you promise you so much cheaper prices went from 200 to almost 500 for 1/2 month. When called they cannot give any info on who called because its in internal system so they can call you but you cannot confront person who promised these things . **************** was no help I now have a late bill because I cannot pay the high price late charges are occurring and they do not care what a rip off 0 stars

  I am furious with this company "Pure Energy" they are liars and scammers!! I can't believe that I've been scammed by them for so long. I thought I was doing the right thing by going green and not receiving my *** ** ****. I only realize how high my Supply 919 kWh @31.9990 was. This is insane. They are charging over 20 cents more than what *** ** would have charged. I spoke to a supervisor named *****. I explained to him that Pure Energy has never sent a notification to me letting me know that they raised the rate from 15 cents over a one-year period. There is no notification from them. He then states that I have over $2800 points in my rewards account. I didn't even know I had a rewards account because they never sent a notification. I told him that I felt this company robbed me and they did! They should not be in business. They are not transparent with what they are doing. They hide behind the *** ** bill which no one looks at in detail. Especially if you are trying to do the right thing by going green and you don't receive the bill. Don't get caught up as I did. I have one bill for almost $800 and another for almost $500. I can't catch up on that on one income. I now have to go on a payment plan with *** ** to try to catch up! Thieves that's what they are! DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM, THEY WILL **** YOU OFF!!!

  I also think this company is a scam. I agreed to try them and my highest **** ever with ****** ******* was $194. When the Pure Energy **** came in it was for $580. I have a small condo and my engery bills have never been this high. I immediately called them and canceled out. Don't make the mistake of signing up with them, they are total crooks and should not be allowed to stay in business.

  PURE ENERGY is a SCAM!!!!! I am so sad that I didn't see these reviews before getting roped into this. They called and told me my plan had expired with my current provider and had all of my information which made me think they were legit. They offered me a good rate and told me that it was through my current provider. My bills started off okay, but then got astronomically higher. These people are liars and should not be allowed to continue. I feel like such an idiot for falling for this scheme even though it was made out to be my current provider and a better plan. Horrible!
