I have used Recyclebank for many years. I have been a member of Recyclebank for many years and had accumulated thousands of points. Points that can be redeemed for free magazine subscriptions, discounts at restaurants and other establishments. I tried to log on today and was surprised to find out I can no longer access the account. It says the user doesnt exist. I know I Am using correct user name and password because I have it written down. If I try to go To forgot password and put in email, it still says user doesnt exist, like acct was deleted. I was never sent an email regarding this, so I could use my points ahead of closing acct if this is what they have done to people, because I see now its not just me. I find This fraudulent to users. Over several years, I participated in a recycling rewards program managed by Recyclebank where points were rewarded for participating in my local recycling program. Additionally points could be earned through participation in various activities on the Recyclebank website or app including answering questions, reading messages, watching videos and more! Points could be redeemed for a variety of rewards, including products, discounts at local businesses, magazine subscriptions, and more. Over the last few years, my municipality stopped participating in the Recyclebank program, however, rewards could still be earned by completing activities on the Recyclebank website or app and I continued to accumulate points that way for a few years. However, on October 15, 2022, I went to the website and saw a message that that "Points and ********************* and taking other sustainable actions are now only available for residents in partnering municipalities". Additionally, my log in credentials no longer work. I know I had a large quantity of points accumulated before I was denied access. Although the points do not have any monetary value, I did complete activities to earn those points and would have appreciated the opportunity to redeem them for rewards before Recyclebank suddenly decided not to allow participation in their program for people who are not residents of partnering municipalities. They have my email, they could easily have sent a message and properly sunset the program instead of denying me the rewards that I earned.Initial Complaint

As the previous complaints have indicated, my account was closed without any communication from Recyclebank LLC. As others have pointed out, I accumulated thousands of points that I can no longer access or redeem because of Recyclebank's actions. This is bad business and quite frankly dishonest on their part. There was no warning that points should be utilized before accounts were to be closed. This company is unethical and should be held accountable.Customer Answer

I submitted a subscription for ********************* in October, 2022 and have yet to receive a single issue. I've tried talking to ********************* directly and they can't help me. I want my money refunded for this. I've tried calling Recycle Bank to no avail. All I want is my $12.00 back because I didn't receive the magazine.Initial Complaint

I no longer have access to my account after 12 years of use, though my username and password are correct. They did not give prior notice on their site change, and have upset not only myself but plenty of other users. Over the years I have accumulated thousands of points on their website. Never had any issues logging in or redeeming points until recently. I tried to log in today and my account password no longer worked. I requested a password reset and was told I no longer have an account. I'm seeing this problem with multiple users. I am not the only one. Essentially, Recyclebank stole our points which were valued at hundreds (possibly thousands) of dollars and deleted our accounts. There should be a class action lawsuit against this. No one appears to have done anything wrong to have their account deleted, but Recyclebank has stolen our points that were earned by completing tasks on their website throughout the years. The amount of points I had accumulated that were still in my account were earned throughout 3-5 years.Customer Answer

I am a loyal member of Recyclebank community for years. My registered email there is ***************** Around **** points are left on my account there, they still are not converted into rewards. When I tried to login today, their site told me my record "does not exist", neither they recognized my email. So there was no possibility for me to reset my password. My understanding is it's a blatant fraud: they do not want to pay even their miserable rewards, which are mainly useless magazine subscriptions. I used to have a bad experience with them already. It took me a few weeks to make them answer and fix the problem. When the same issue arose yet another time (a missing reward) nobody even bothered to answer. Around the middle of July, my Recyclebank site did not work. I retrieve the "changed" site address and try to log in. Then I try to create an account and this is unsuccessful as well. As I've had an account and earned over ****** points, I found this to be an issue. On 8/1/22, I reached out to customer service to find out why. No response to over 3 emails to the customer service. I then find and old customer service email from a prior incident with a contact name and email. I send her my request to get into the account. Finally, after the third response, I get a canned response from the customer service saying the following:Hello ******,All eligible locations have been programed into our system, and any users attempting to create an account outside of those locations will be unable to join. Members who do not qualify for the Recyclebank program will no longer have access to previously accumulated points. We do advise participants in our Terms and Conditions that our program is subject to change without notification. Within that document we also state that Recyclebank may, "terminate or suspend your access to all or part of the Platform or the Services for any or no reason." We appreciate your commitment to recycling and sustainability, and encourage you to reach out to your local township/municipality to request their participation in our program. Thank you, The Recyclebank Team I asked about the points that were accrued and if I could use them and got NO response. Even after continuous emails from 8/2/22.I've also gone online and have seen that they have also shut down the accounts of other members. There was no warning, no communication or no way to use the points before this happened. As a result, we have all lost our accounts and Recyclebank will not honor letting us use them even though they closed our accounts. Recyclebank has a program giving points for recycling activities. Without notice they discontinued the program in our community . As of 8-1-22 we are no longer able to access our accounts and were never given the opportunity to use our points (approx- ******). I understand that our community is no longer going to participate, but we should have been given notice to use our points before they closed our account, I have contacted the company with no resultsCustomer Answer
