On June 7, 2025, at my residence in ******, **, a representative from Nielsen Ratings came to my door attempting to solicit my wifes participation in their ratings program.Despite my wife declining multiple times, the representative continued to pressure her and attempted to give her flowers as a form of persuasion. My wife again told him no repeatedly. The representative refused to accept this response and persisted in engaging her.I was forced to intervene and directly tell the individual to leave our property. Even then, he refused to take the flowers back, and I had to dispose of them myself after insisting that he leave.This visit was completely inappropriate for several reasons:1.I have a clearly posted NO SOLICITATION sign on my ********* residence is registered with the City of Cibolos No Solicitation list, which is intended to prevent this type of activity.3.The representative displayed aggressive and pushy behavior despite clear verbal refusals.I find this conduct from Nielsen unprofessional and intrusive. It disregards local regulations and the expressed wishes of homeowners.I am filing this complaint to document the violation and request that Nielsen take appropriate action to ensure their representatives comply with local no-solicitation laws and conduct themselves respectfully in all interactions.I am also requesting that Nielsen provide a formal response explaining how they will address this matter and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.Please note I have video of this interaction and will send this out to the media.Business Response

They keep coming to my door apparently to sign me up for ratings reviews, surveys, or something else. If it happened a few times itd be fine, but its ALL the time. Multiple times a week, sometimes late evenings, afternoons. 5/7/25 a lady called to advise one of household members were not wearing their meter. Advised her he moved out to college and he needs to be removed. She said that was fine and she can just remove one person. She deactivated our entire account. We were promised each 45 per month times 4 people times 12 = ********************************************** the ratings for 2 years or until we wanted to end it.Business Response

Nielsen guy has shown up at my door on and off for a year, stopped during the winter but has started again. It is strange evening times, and I missed him twice as he knocked so softly, I would have told him to remove from the list. Yesterday two people showed up together, I was in bed sick and watched on a doorbell camera as they knocked 6/7 times NOT quietly all of a sudden, over a five or more minute period. Knocked on my gate, my door, the wood around my door, my windows. WAY too much, I was going to just ask them to leave but now I dont want to even answer, its completely insane they did that. My neighbor even came outside and said I wasnt home, lights were all off and they banged on the window again.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:I reject this attempt because on February 21, 2025, I called Nielsen and spoke with **** about the missing $20.00 in cash. He informed me that I would have to wait three weeks to receive the amount. However, today is April 15, and I have not yet received the promised payment. When will Nielsen pay the money owed? If they do not, then this is a scam that needs to be reported.

Nielsen contacted my household in November 2024 to participate in wearing their meters to track ratings in our area. My household is just myself and one other person. Everything was going fine with payments coming in the mail, no issue. In January 2025, we moved to a new apartment. I immediately contacted Nielsen panel relations to update our address and they said our payments would be sent to this new address asap. Or so we thought. It is now April and our checks are still being sent to the old address. I know this because I have mail forwarding for my name, however the other person in my household does not. In the mail being forwarded to me are the recent payments from Nielsen that still have my old address on them. I have contacted Nielsen panel relations several times only to be given the run around that the payments department will be contacted, the checks will be voided, and reissued to be sent to the correct address. Yet, after two months they havent. Today I once again called and spoke to the most apathetic, couldnt-give-less-of-a-****, panel relations specialist only to be told the same old line of Ill contact payments to find out why theyre still sending the checks to the wrong address and have them reissued. Only nothing happens, no escalation in having the issue solved, no investigation, and no follow up. The most egregious part is when they try to blame the post office by saying there must be an issue with the mail yet the post office is the only ones doing their job correctly by forwarding me my payments that prove theyre still being sent to the wrong address. Im officially done wearing these meters. Also dont bother trying to speak to a manager or supervisor as they will not give you a call back. Nielsen does not give a **** about their panelists; any excuse to not send payments, they will take. If youre contacted by Nielsen to participate, dont bother. Take the $10 they send you in the mail and forget about them.Business Response

My family filled out 4 books about what music we listen to and received a $40 check for doing it. I cashed it through my bank and found out today that the check bounced and I was charged a fee for said bounced check!!!Business Response

We recently returned from traveling for a couple of months and on November 1, 2024 we requested Dish network to setup our local channels per our account. We have been receiving *********** local stations since we moved to this address in **************************. So we were very surprised when we were told that based on our zip code *****, the same one we have been living at since account inception at this address we would be getting ****** Texas locals. We live about 30 minutes from *********** and about 90 minutes from ****** *****. We are concerned for our safety as the weather, alerts, traffic issues, etc. are being reported for ****** *****. When a freeze warning is issued for our area in the ************ we may not be aware of it as the weather in ****** is very different from the Hill Country.We contacted the *** after being told by Dish that the *** controls what locals we can watch. Dish has been very helpful, but after much research they are telling us that the *** is telling them the ****** stations are the ones we should be watching. And that the *** may be getting the information from your company, the Nielsen Company as to which local stations we should be watching. Based on something you call DMA, Designated Market Area.We are requesting that you review this practice and please find a way to allow Dish to once again give us access to the locals from *********** which have a lot more relevance to us. We dont visit ****** more than once a year and do not shop there. We shop the greater *********** area.Business Response

Nielsen produces Designated Market Areas (DMAs) that geographically standardize regions in the ********** for the purpose of measuring audience viewing for broadcast and cable television to create the Nielsen TV ratings. Following government regulations, satellite service providers do use Nielsens Designated Market Area (DMA) information to help them decide which local stations are included in their local broadcast service. However, Nielsen is not responsible for, or in any way involved in, those decisions, and the Nielsen DMA information used in those decisions is not even intended or designed to be used for these decisions.
