Online system said error for cancelling subscription. Then, it goes up by 6 times the rate. I called on the day it charged, and they REFUSE to help with a refund. Terrible company. Will be reporting as fraud on my credit card. Do not use EVER!

I signed up for a subscription for $8 per month. At the end of that term I received an email stating that my subscription would renew on a month to month basis for $8 until cancelled. Then 2 months later they jacked the price up to $38.99 without any notice. I didn't notice it until they had charged my card 3 times. I have forwarded them the email and fought with them for weeks and they will not refund my $97!!! They keep stating fine print in the terms when I signed up....I have read the email I received over and over and there is NO FINE PRINT or asterisks or disclaimers. IT is VERY clear that they purposely misinformed me to avoid me cancelling at the end of my initial term!! Their customer service has been horrendous to deal with and I have spent a total of about 3 hours on the phone dealing with this, but it is the principle that they are large well known company that thinks they are untouchable and can treat the public this way! Someone should start a class action law suit against these people!!!

They increased the price of my subscription for home delivery without notifying me; I therefore cancelled the subscription for home delivery and signed up for a digital subsciription. It went from $14.62 a month to $38.99. I was not given any notice of this increase and hadn't checked my credit card bills. I called them and demanded they refund the difference since they did not notify me of the increase. They politely refused. They increase reates arbitriarily without any notification.

I called to ask why I wasnt notified the price was going from $4.00/month to $38.99/month for my digital subscription. .They apologized and said I should have received email notification and offered to let me renew at $4.00/month for another year and would reverse the change of $38.99. Then I asked to reverse the charge and just cancel my subscription. They said they would not unless I renew at the $4.00/month and told me to dispute the charge with my card company. Very bad business ethics.

In Mar 22, I signed up for a *** 12 month subscription promotion at $4 per week with the understanding that the price would increase to $39 after the promotion. On 5 Apr 23, I received an email from the *** stating " Your subscription will now be automatically renewed every four weeks at the rate of $4.00." Based on this email I assumed the $4 rate was continuing for the next 12 months. I was billed at the $4 rate on 26 Apr 23 and then I noticed my credit card was charged $39 on 24 May, 21 Jun, and 19 Jul. I contacted the *** Customer Service on 19 Jul about the charges and was told they could not give me a refund. The *** is scamming people by sending an email one month prior to the promotion ending stating they will be charged the $4 rate going forward. Also, the *** does not send an email stating when the new rate will be taking effect. The *** needs to looking into this switch and bait practice.

What a scam, they make it IMPOSSIBLE to cancel your subscription. I've tried for months to cancel and I keep getting charged, so blocked them on my card, but now they say it's "under dispute" and they can't cancel. I called credit card company and they said dispute is resolved and I have to talk to the Wall Street Journal. Noting there is no one that is responding on these, I doubt I will see resolution, but I want all of these fraudulent charges removed from my account and CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION!!!

Would give zero or negative stars if possible. I have been trying to cancel my subscription for a couple months now, every time I call the customer service number to cancel it says their hours of operation are no longer active, and when I try to email or message the responses are to call the number. I called my bank to no longer allow payments from Wall Street Journal and a sneaky and disgusting practice from the company has been to charge under slightly different names. I do not want to use your subscription and want to cancel. The company continuing to charge has become a burden and making me consider to *** because I am just not sure how else to avoid being charged. DO NOT under any circumstances subscribe to the Wall Street journal. They are predatory and will not stop charging their blood-sucking monthly fees under any circumstances. I hope the company goes broke and I hope this is a warning sign for others to avoid subscribing.

You can't cancel your " online " subscription , online. They give you a call number that is out of service instead. Overpriced and biased news.

They are absolutely illegally charging my bank account $40+ a month. My debit card that was on file expired, but WSJ somehow found a way to charge my checking account anyway for the last 8 months. I did not authorize this at all. I expect a full refund of all those charges, and an expedited cancellation of this subscription.

Extremely shady subscription practices, that I also filed as a scam. Can only call to cancel (minimum 20+ minute wait), but after I cancelled, they resigned me back up the next day (no idea why, I did not initiate of course). When I called the 2nd time, they told me their systems were down, so they couldn't cancel my subscription. They are stealing money $5 at a time. This occurred in March 2023.
