As of December 6, 2022, the California Attorney General's Charitable Trust Registry has entered into a settlement agreement with CharityBuzz, LLC, an online fundraising platform. After an investigation, the Registry had sent a cease and desist order to CharityBuzz on November 22, 2019, requiring the firm to cease and desist from all operations in California or on behalf of California charities. The settlement provided a provisional registration to CharityBuzz as a commercial fundraising platform for charitable purposes, among other terms, including payment of late fees, penalties, fees and costs incurred by the Attorney General related to the investigation and enforcement of this matter.
