I signed up for a 1 year subscription, with no intention of renewing. They automatically renewed my subscription and charged my credit card. I tried to cancel the subscription with no results. The company emailed me and said that they will not refund my card because of the auto-renewal. They default your account to auto renew. This is fraudulent activity at the least. Do not use this product or company, they are thieves.

I signed up for Babbel a year ago and have no complaints about the program but was shocked at the process of stopping the automatic renewal and being automatically charged for the entire year in advance. This company is a terrible example of a well run business. Babbel abuses people by making it near impossible to cancel. There is no way to get a live person on the phone. I will tell everyone I can to RUN from this company. Total shysters ! Look at their reviews and ratings

I signed on for a 3 month subscription to learn a bit of Spanish about 2 years ago. I did not ask for or approve any renewals. I simply wanted to try it. Turned out they have been charging me renewals every since. Even though I quit messing with it after a couple weeks. Bad business.

The auto renewed my subscription and charged me for another 6 months. I dont recall agreeing to those terms. I believe they have very deceptive business practices.

I signed up for a year of Babbel, only used it a few times. The method was not compatible with my learning style. When you subscribe to Babbel, they automatically default your subscription to automatically renew. On top of that, they do not send a reminder that your automatic renewal is about to renew. Since I hadn't used the program for almost a year, I had totally forgotten about my subscription. Then I see a charge on my credit card. I contacted them, explained that I have not used it and had not intention of renewing. No understanding from Babbel, it seems to be all about making your money on the backs of people who don't want your product. A sad way to do business, and I will do my best to advise people to stay away from Babbel.

I first started found it hard to find the time. I didnt realize it was on autopay. I would have never agreed to that . Either way, as soon as I received the email stating it was going to be billed I immediately tried to cancel. I would never use their service again even though I did enjoy it when I was able to use it. I just dont have the time right now.

Babbel ******************** I signed up for Babbel and 6 months into it stopped using it. I had no intention of renewing but on the 1 year anniversary I saw it was auto-renewed. That same day I contacted them asking to cancel the account and for a refund. They told me the terms and conditions (the mile long ones nobody reads) apparently had buried in them that they auto renew. This isn't the 80s... if you want to auto-renew a customer account you should inform them in advance. They do none of that. Even though I asked them for a refund on the same day they fraudulently charged my card, they refused. Why not alert customers in advance of auto-renewing or at least let them know up front? They do none of this knowing most of their customers don't use the app for a full year so this way they can pick pocket you. This is a scam plain and simple.

I signed up for a subscription, and Babbel charged my card twice for the same account. I contacted customer service and told them to take the secondary charge off. Then they cancelled my subscription. I contacted them again and said I wanted to keep the one account, I just didn't want the second charge. That was a week ago. Then I got an email three days ago, and they said they would get back to me, and I haven't heard yet. As far as I can tell they can only be contacted via email. They have the worst customer service I have ever encountered. anywhere.

I bought a one year subscription to Babbel in good faith. No where did I see a 20 day return policy, and I am still looking. I was too busy to use it for a couple of weeks (thus the lengthy subscript so I wouldn't be rushed), tried 3 times to use it after that (with some time in between to reflect) and then gave up. I found the "course" to be confusing, illogical, non-intuitive and difficult to follow. Nouns and adjectives were used without context, there was no instruction at all about verbs and verb tenses and the questions at the end of exercises were confusing and without explanation. I accepted a voucher because of the intransigence of the agent and now can't give it away. I am stunned an international comp like Babbel won't stand behind their product.
