Business Name: Paperspace (now owned by DigitalOcean)Complaint Description:I was enrolled in a research credits program offered by **********, which granted free access to computing resources for academic purposes. I had not used the platform in over six months, and at some pointapparently after DigitalOcean acquired the companythe program was discontinued without any notice, and I began receiving charges to my credit card.Once I noticed the charges, I immediately shut down all resources on my account. Despite this, I continued to be charged for two additional months. After digging into the billing, I found that the charges were related to a private workspacea service I do not recall signing up for, nor was I ever notified I would be billed for it. I attempted to delete the workspace and believed I had done so, but the charges persisted.I have submitted multiple customer service tickets, all of which have been closed without a response. There is no available phone support, and emails to support and technical contacts (including some I had interacted with during the research program) have gone unanswered.This month, I was charged twiceonce for the current month and again for the previous montheven though no services have been in use, and I have taken every step I can to cancel the ********** this point, I have been charged over $500 for services I did not knowingly agree to and could not stop despite multiple attempts. I believe this is a clear case of unauthorized billing, and the companys total lack of customer support raises serious concerns. They dont even list an account number on invoices.Resolution Sought:Full refund of all unauthorized charges (approximately $500)Immediate cancellation of my account and all associated billing Written confirmation that no further charges will be made This experience has been deeply frustrating and feels exploitative. Paperspace/Digital Ocean shut down my account and stole my intellectual property. Then told me I needed to submit all my social media posts and id through insecure email to get my code back. I feel like this is blackmail and gives them an opportunity to defraud me. I read online and their trust scores are atrocious as you can see here. **************************************************** They have no phone number to contact them. Digital Ocean and Paperspace have no phone number. They claimed my code violated terms of service, but I believe strongly after reading other people's posts online it is a red *******. I have only tested stocks in backtesting and forecasting and have not violated their terms. They haven't even looked at the code or they would know.Initial Complaint

Im being charged on credit card for unneeded service. No way to cancel? No phone# to call. I dont have a computer and my daughter looked up company and thinks this is for some computer service? Only way we found to attempt to cancel is by signing in- I cant sign in, no password. We attempted reaching them online and submitting my email address. I signed up for a monthly billing subscription with Digital Ocean and am unable to end this subscription. There is no option to delete my credit card from their site, no option to delete my account. I am writing to report a serious case of fraud involving my elderly father, *********************, of whom I am the Power of Attorney (POA) and manage all of his personal and medical affairs.Recently, during a routine online search, I discovered that a person under the name "*******************" has fraudulently listed my fathers name as an asset in public records, as reported by InfoTrac. Upon contacting InfoTrac, I was informed that this information was sourced from county records.Further investigation revealed that "*******************" has created two email *************************** (IP address: ***********) and ******************* (IP address: ***************)which appear to be involved in this fraudulent activity. A preliminary online search has linked one of these IP addresses to Digital Ocean, a company located in ***********, ***********Given the nature and potential severity of this fraud, I have already reported the matter to Digital Ocean under the associated email address, but I am now seeking your assistance to investigate this matter further.Enclosed are all relevant details and documentation I have gathered so far. On November 26, I believe, I purchased a small computing service to use as a relay to allow easy and secure access to my home computer when visiting family for the holidays -- which was planned to be roughly 4 to 6 weeks. The total was roughly $7.98 a month. I agreed to use the service on a monthly basis.Quick notes:The website makes it difficult to cancel services once started and was told to delete my entire account with the company to end the small compute service. There is no way to understand this is the only way to end a service, and I had to reach out to support to do so. It was unscrupulous, shady, and all around intended to keep people paying for a service they don't need. Anyway, after returning home, I decide to cancel the service and there was no clear or easy way to accomplish this. I deleted the compute resource, but every time I tried to delete the "project", it would give me an error and say it couldn't be deleted because it was a default resource. confused, I kept trying and had got so irritated after 15 minutes of this, I quit looking to relax and forgot to return to fix it. Well, they charged me again, of course, and I contacted the support and complained about the issue and they eventually told me I had to delete my account. Yes, delete. my account, which they call a "team." Now, this is not clear on their website's user dashboard AT ALL. There is nothing I could even find to reach the delete page and had to search through their how-to documents and find a link to take me to the page to delete my account. They're shady savages and should be ran out of business. I told them I wanted my refund because I was unable to delete the account because doing so led to the page saying I was not allowed to delete the only computing resource I had. it never said, by the way, if you don't want to pay this delete your whole account with us. No, they just say it's impossible.
