I submitted claims for an FSA and the SLA is 5 days. 2 weeks pass. I called to ask what the situation was, and right after that call they denied my claim. They seem to deny claims as the default.
They denied a claim on the grounds that it was missing a certificate of medical necessity when the certificate of medical necessity was attached.
I call, and the customer service agent claims the LMN did not contain the information required. Please note: They had approved a different claim with the same LMN the same day.
He's going to follow up with me in 3-5 business days. Thank Goodness I have until June to get my submissions in.
I had to reach out to all my medical providers to request certificates of medical necessity for every prescription. Hello? It was a prescription? Obviously the doctor prescribed it for a reason? Double, triple work, chasing doctors when they are plenty busy, all for $1200.
Feels like an absolute scam. Never again.

Ever since we were told they were either buying out and we need to go with them, it's been nothing but a part-time job to get them what they need, for them to deny it. Just using it to charge under a DOCTOR or DENTIST name is just not enough. They want it ALL, which the other company clearly had better steps in place to avoid this back and forth.
I had to pay an old co-pay which I either missed or wasn't aware of but NOW it's from "2023" so I guess I can't use my own money and need to eat my out of pocket transaction. How about a hard stop to tell me that I'm unable to do this in that time frame? Nope, you needed me to run around first to get a paper receipt to upload to then deny it. It's $64.50, really?
Life is hard enough - don't make this an even more inconvenience and hindrance with our own money to then tell us no? I had about 4 different "claims" that needed more information, which took me half a day to call all the offices, have them send it, log back in to then upload them all.
Never ever did I hear anything from the other company we has for years prior.
      Do better.

Is it possible to give negative stars for this company? So far, my dealings with Benefit Resource have been limited, but are leaving a very bad taste in my mouth.
My employment ended on June 30, and I was contacted in mid-July by a company (with a remarkably similar name) whom I had dealt with previously stating they were the company of record to administer the COBRA benefits for my former employer. I elected to retain some of my previous coverage and we've been merrily plugging along for several months now. Fast forward to this past week when I received a letter from Benefit Resources--FOUR MONTHS AFTER MY EMPLOYMENT ENDED! They also stated that they were the company of record for my COBRA benefits through my former employer, however they only showed that I had elected coverage for the one piece of health care I had declined through the other company. I called them on Monday, Oct. 16 to inform them that I, in no uncertain terms DID NOT want this coverage and would not pay for it. I spoke with a Brittany who said that the premium had already been paid (not by me!). She stated she would open a high priority case for this issue. I guess this case was to add the two pieces of coverage I elected to keep with the other company, because today (10/19) I received another letter stating that I now had a larger premium due to them.
In the last four months I have successfully used both pieces of coverage I kept, so I feel this attempt by Benefit Resource is a scam, pure and simple, trying to get my money through false pretenses. Shame on you!

Tried calling them to seek information for Cobra coverage as my current plan is expiring.
Their number does not allow you to speak with an agent. I even tried to select the "if you want to use our dial by name directory" option and it keeps hanging up on me.
As I read other reviews from BBB, Google reviews and others, it is obvious how they are running the company here as they do not care at all to help

BCBS still has NOT received the necessary info from you that would reflect that I'm paying YOU for my COBRA insurance. BCBS tells me I've been uninsured since August 1 !!! What is going on? I have upcoming medical procedures! NO ONE is EVER answering any phones at your company!

Do not use them! As I am writing this review, I am on hold for one hour and 12 minutes, and have been transferred twice. No conversations to assist, just blind transfers. They hold your money captive and then do not respond to claims timely. Horrible service. They do not answer the phone. They are unresponsive. Do not use them.

After my employment ended. My medical insurance was continued via BRI COBRA. I recently had a newborn and attempted to add my son to my medical insurance to have the medical bills of his birth covered.
Called BRI COBRA who stated they needed additional information of my son such as date of birth, birth certificate copy, and Social security number to process this request. Called BRI COBRA again expressing my concerns of sending secured documents such as birth certificate and Social Security Card via email.
I was given the option to mail a copy of these documents to them but this will take longer and delay insurance coverage of my child. I ended up emailing his birth verification form in place of the birth certificate but did not want to disclose his social security number via email for security reasons.
I called BRI COBRA customer service again to ask if I can give them his social security number verbally over the phone. They refused to accept this method. The rep told me to hold while they transfer me to an "escalation" rep to address my concerns. I was put on hold for over 30 minutes then the call just ended!!!
It is 2024. It should not be too hard to create a secure upload feature on the website or customer portal or acquire this information verbally over the phone instead of email.
      P.S.
My previous employer warned me against sending secured documents such as copy of social security card via email as it is not a secured method which is why I asked for alternative method to avoid delay in medical coverage. BRI COBRA simply ignored my concerns.

Creeps! I had $500 on account from my old job. They had my current address to send me a letter about the balance but “somehow” sent the card to an old address that wouldn’t forward. Three years later, I receive the card to my address - after they’ve charged me a $5/month service fee for over THREE YEARS! And their response is “yeah, and?” Absolute garbage.

I cancelled my COBRA coverage on November 30th through BRI's web portal.

Then a few weeks later, I received a letter stating my plan was reinstated (which wasn't true, both the website and my insurance company said I didn't have coverage), and I was billed $558 for the month of December.

I've called their support line and left a voicemail in late December about this issue. Then I sent 3 more emails starting on January 3rd on a weekly basis with no response yet I keep receiving late payment notices by mail with no recourse at all.

There is no information on what happens if you are incorrectly billed and don't pay and I do not want this to go to collections when I had cancelled the plan!

Terrible, horrible customer service. I had an unknown charge that required a receipt, and I was trying to get information about the charge. The woman I spoke with kept speaking over the top of me and never answered any of my questions. When she wanted to end the call, she asked if she had answered my questions, I told her she had not because she kept talking over me, and then she hung up on me. Counting down the days until my employer finds a new company to work with. Please do not hire this company and subject your employees to the same terrible service.
