Date of Dispute: The day of my original complaint: 8/28/2023 Amount paid for the screen door: 1/2 of the contracted *** of $2497.95 or $1248.75 (price of 1 door). Businees committment: A good quality screen within 12 weeks from 2/23/23, contract date and NO ***************** Dispute: screen of door was rec'd today, 3/19/24. - 10 months from the 12 weeks promised. Quality Control was nonexistent: FOUR screens have been delivered damaged. After the first two were delivered to my house damaged, I suggested to Pella that inspections happen before delivery. On the 3rd attempt, delivered to ** Pella damaged before it was sent to me. The 4th screen was delivered 2/28/24, and was reported by Pella in good shape. It was discovered damaged after I asked for it to be reinspected. Pella's internal controls to ensure all products are delivered to the customer in good condition failed. ***************** In all emails that were sent to Pella ********* there was only one response when the initial screen was received damaged: For ME to contact the manufacturer directly. I did as I was instructed to do. I never imaged that 3 more screens would arrive damaged and that I needed to send multiple emails that spanned over 1 YEAR!. In all cases, ****** was copied, and, in all cases, ****** had no response. Pella's Quality Control Over Third Party Vendors: The President of ** Pella, ***************************, informed me that Pella uses third parties to manufacture screens and Pella has no control over this process. Unfortunately, this goes to the root problem. The responsibility for vetting third party vendors is Pella's alone. It is clear that a breakdown in Pella's quality control occurred if this vendor is allowed to manufacture defective products. Filed a BBBcomplaint with Pella's HQ. They said that this store is not a Pella store but a distributor. The product bought was not from a true Pella Store. I am seeking a refund based on a low quality product that malfunctioned 5 times.
