My doctor ordered a Sleep Study test to see if I have Sleep Apnea. When I attempted to make an appointment, their Sleep Study lab told me I had to wait two months for the Study. I emphasized to them that I needed an earlier appointment, as I am supposed to be cleared for Knee Surgery. They refused. So when I got to the hospital for my Sleep Study test on June 1, 2023, I notuced that the tech was male. I was very uncomfortable and disappointed, as I felt the hospital should have informed me, which they did not do. However, when I went to the doctor to get the results, the doctor could not read the results because I didnt sleep. I informed him I felt very in comfortable because the hospital assigned a male tech for six hours, watching me and take pictures. (I had no bra on, etc.) Now doctor has ordered that I pick up the equipment and take the test at home. I had an appointment yesterday, June 27. When I got to the hospital parking lot there was absolutely no parking in the lot nor on the street. I called the Sleep Study lab about it and they did nothing to help me. Actually they were blaming me and stating, Im the only one who couldnt find parking space. I found their response was very rude, dismissive and unprofessional. I then called Patient Experience and left a message explaining the whole matter. I got a call from ***** or **** from Patient Experience telling me she called me and spoke to me about the matter. That is a lie and I could prove it through phone records. I got a call today from a ****** again being very rude telling me Im the only one who couldnt find space and was argumentative. I then called again to speak to someone in Management and spoke to *********, who told me shes a secretary, put me on hold and never called me back. I would like to add that I have a disability, cannot walk well. I need to get this test done ASAP!!! The hospital is negligent and irresponsible.

The transaction took place 7/7/2022 Through 7/17/2022.My name is ***********************. My son *************************** was admitted to ********** on 7/7/2022. We are not ignoring these bills but we feel they are not justified. I have all of the EOB's from the hospital. I will agree that some of the care was given to my son. But due to the fact that he probably would not have had to go through these extreme measures if he was treated correctly in the beginning. The emergency room was clueless. They had incorrect diagnosis from the minute that he walked in. Nobody in this hospital would listen to me. I know my son and I know his medical conditions. I kept telling them that whatever is going on with him is not **************. I knew he had a bacterial infection. His conditioned was worsened within 36 hours by intravenous antibiotics, prednisone and 5 liters of fluid. To further this complication, the person who actually diagnosed my son was my daughter who is a veterinarian. The diagnosis was leptospirosis, and the simple treatment could have been doxycycline . If this had been prescribed to him in the beginning he would have never needed such critical care as well as having to be put on a respirator for 4 days. In my heart I would love to *** this hospital. But due to the fact that he was given excellent care by the nurses I will not pur*** this measure but I am going to debate the $3000.00 that is supposedly owed to the hospital. I feel the hospital should be able to absorb these finances, due to the factor that ********* was paid adequately by my son's insurance company. My name is ***********************. My son *************************** was admitted to ********** on 7/7/2022. We are not ignoring these bills but we feel they are not justified. I have all of the EOB's from the hospital. Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Hi I would like to reopen this case. It is not resolved. Staten Island University hospital started sending bills to *************************** once again. As I had stated in the past, we are not going to pay any additional money to this hospital due to negligence and misdiagnosis. Please reopen this case for me. I am trying to opt for the best possible solution without having to contact my lawyer for a lawsuit against the hospital. My son has suffered PTSD and continues to get residual infections due to the treatment he had received last July. ******* still has nerve damage and is still being seen by a physical therapist.  Thank you for your help.
