  I received an email from **** ****** New Submissions Director stating she wanted to interview me for my biography which would only take 20 minutes (which was the first red flag). Upon a phone conversation with **** ******, it sounded as if she was faking her voice to sound higher pitched and being bubbly. She went on to tell me how I was lucky enough to be chosen out of multiple candidates to be published in their whos who and what a great opportunity and networking privilege it would be. She only asked me a few questions about my career then went on to hound me about purchasing 1 out of 2 subscriptions, one for $1,700 and the other $900 for some sort of plaque. Meanwhile all along she stated this was free. Professionals are listed in an invitation only publishing and it would open so many doors. This is totally fake. If you want to promote yourself, you can use multiple social media platforms. This company is scamming people out of money and should be shut down. **** ****** should do the morally right thing and quit. I feel sorry for anyone that was duped into giving money to her and the horrible company.

  With that said, we do want to share with you that unfortunately, there are numerous companies using the ‘Who’s Who’ moniker because there is no law against this. These imitators claim to be Marquis, or insinuate they are while soliciting individuals using underhanded business practices. We are not affiliated with any other organization. These other Who’s Who companies attempt to lure customers by unscrupulous means and attempt to sully our Brand as a result. Upon discovery, we have immediately contacted the authorities upon discovery of this and have worked with the US Inspectors **** *****, **** *** ******* and ****** ********, providing them with pertinent information to identify these bad-actors and close their operations. We have also gone to the media to make people aware of this and have already shut down a number of organizations.

  Title: Disappointing experience with paid feature content removed without warning I paid to be featured in Marquis Whos Who as a Top Professional and appreciated the opportunity at the time. The sales pitch made it sound like the feature would remain online for professional visibility and searchability, especially on ******. I was proud to be included and looked forward to having something I could share long-term.What was never clearly stated and what I was never told is that the blog they wrote about me would expire after one year. No warning. No notice. Just gone.When I reached out to ask why it disappeared, I was told by customer service that it had a one-year shelf life. That was the first time Id ever heard that. I received a copy of the article, but by then it had already vanished from public view. The entire online presence they promised the value I thought I was paying for was erased.This wasn't about a membership expiring. This was a paid professional feature, and they never made it clear it would be temporary or that Id need to pay again just to keep it visible. I feel like this should have been disclosed up ******** not seeking a refund just putting this here so others dont get misled like I did. If youre considering paying for any Marquis Whos Who recognition, ask very specific questions about how long your profile or blog will stay online. Get everything in writing.

  Ms. **** was chosen to be featured as a Top Professional in November of 2023 at which time she opted to purchase a commemorative web feature that is hosted for 1 year. We do record all of our calls for quality assurance purposes and certainly can attempt to retrieve the call for review. Our representatives are responsible to educate on all program components and we do believe this must have been a misunderstanding. Additionally, Ms. **** was sent a detailed paid statement that outlined the program components including the duration of time the feature would remain online. Since we cannot attach a file here on the review response, we would be happy to send that over via email if provided an email address to do so for documentation on this review. As a courtesy, we would be happy to host the feature for an additional year complimentary. Ms. **** is welcome to contact us back to arrange for this; as this offer will be documented in her file.

  I have been listed in Who's Who for years. But then a long article about me appeared, and their sales people, not bothering to check on the past inclusion, immediately contacted me that, based on the article, I could be a candidate for inclusion. Nothing I could say or write to them about my already being included stopped the flow of sales people trying to arrange an "interview." When I agreed, the person said that they did not have my old listing with them, because they wanted to do a fresh interview. Then they interviewed me so fast, they could not possibly have been taking notes. They kept praising me, and then at the end said that I was in, and that they would issue a news release about that to all the search engines. (I tried not to laugh, since search engines look for published material, and cannot be sent news releases.) I said, why is that news, if I have been listed all these years?Pretty soon, it became clear that the whole purpose of the fake "interview" had been to get me feeling flattered and then to agree to pay a very large fee for their doing a "news release" and sending me a plaque. It is so sad, but perhaps not surprising, that in this era of web supremacy, a print service like Who's Who has to resort to these kind of tactics to survive. Their agents are trained to be convivial and flattering; DON'T BE FOOLED.

  This is a scam. They go through the entire process and then they ask you for $1700. Don't do it. Spend the money on your own self-improvement and business improvement. Even after multiple times saying "I do not want to spend money on this, I was under the impression that there was no cost to me," I was still hounded for money. When I finally said AGAIN "No, I am not interested in spending money and participating" I was told I could get my name in a directory and then the call was ended. Don't do it, people. Please.

  I was also contacted by email and phone by a Marquis representative. After a very lengthy interview, She said to be included I needed to pay for either the premium ($1789) or standard ($1489) to be included. I declined and she was very insistent that I had to pay right now or the deal was off. For a reputable company this is horrendous business practice. After the call I googled and found the below comments that inclusion was free. This representative should be fired.

  Whoe's Who contacted me to say my accomplishments qualified me to be listed in their book. Since I have 8 boos in print, I believed them. I carefully asked their representative ******* *****, if there were "any fees whatsoever" connected with being listed. She said in writing, "none". They then harassed me with e-mail, till I set up an interview. Upon completion of a 45 minute interview, in which ******* was super enthusiastic, telling me how great I was, and how accomplished I was. It was 45 minutes of fake encouragement, and then when finished, ******* finally admitted that their were a few small fees ... like $1,400.00 to be listed. Completely unprofessional, and not truthful. This is one of the most lame, wastes of time in the world. It should be illegal, as they lied from the very beginning, in writing!!! Avoid these horrible people, and leave as many negative reviews as possible. And by the way ******* *****, you should be ashamed of your self for clearly and repeatedly not telling the truth. You are a compulsive liar. Get a real job that does not take advantage of peoples valuable time.

  I experienced being contacted by Marquis, which is an honor, and they stated there was no cost for being included. We had a long interview where they said to me you are in, then presented two packages to chose from and the cost, I respectfully declined. 2 weeks later I received an email with links and instructions on how to add the certificate to LinkedIn and emails with the official seal. As any business, they sell you services, because they also have bills to pay. Its your choice to accept them or not. Its like having your own personal public relations company. I will surely contact them when the time is right to purchase those services.

  Scam! I spent about 30 minutes of my time "interviewing" to be told that 60% of applicants are never even contacted (I can see this isn't true) and that I should feel "honored." I was sure there would be a cost associated with this, but then I googled and got this: "For clarity, there has never been a cost associated with inclusion in Marquis Whos Who. Biographies are included in our registry strictly on merit no one can buy or purchase a position, listing, or award from Marquis Whos Who." Obviously, this is misleading information as I was quoted $1589 for a feature and wall plaque and $1289 for a feature with no wall plaque. This is just absurd.
