Has a recall on the motor of my 2016 *** ****** **. I replaced the motor last year and paid out of pocket bc they said I didn’t have some update. However a year later the motor blew again and there saying there not going to cover it bc I can’t show them all the receipts of the oil changes since I replaced the engine. I refuse to put another motor in.
I paid 14,000 for the car and spent 5,000 last year bc I still owe on the car. However I refuse to spend another 5,000 for another motor.
I already spent 19,000. On a car that isn’t worth it. That has recalls on the motor.

      *******,
I am sorry for your bad experiences, however Matthews Kia is not the one who approves or denies the motors, its it *** themselves. If they are requesting that information we would not be bale to go around that. If you would like to reach out to me I can look into it a little further.

Sales Consultant called me and said they had a car available - 2023 *** ********. I went into the showroom on a Wednesday. We signed a Sales Agreement, and exchanged down payment. They took my trade-in lien release. We scheduled the pick up for Monday and organized insurance transfer.
Fast forward to Saturday. Around noon Sales Manager called. He jumped right in - the car I was trying to purchase had “extensive transport damage,” and as a result was no longer available for purchase. Luckily, there had been a flatbed at the dealership on that particular Saturday morning so that they could send it back to the manufacturer.
After much probing, SM “admitted” that a distracted Sales Consultant had backed into the car, causing damage.
I calmly explained that I did not believe him. I told him that I believed Matthew’s mistakenly (HUGE benefit of the doubt here) sold the car to someone else.
SM denied this. I requested a list of damaged and bill of lading; was told to come back Monday and they would be available.
Fast forward to Monday. I repeated my request for documentation, to which SM responded, “I can’t give you those things.”
When asked why, he told me that it was because the vehicle was not actually damaged - THE VEHICLE WAS SOLD TO SOMEONE ELSE.
I would have been disappointed to know the truth, but I understand that mistakes happen, and that miscommunication exists. I most likely would still have worked with Matthew’s if they had been honest from the beginning; a testament to how much I liked my Sales Consultant.
After the scramble to return the bank check, dissolve the car loan, reinstate my insurance, and be put back on dealership lists, this time at the bottom… I recommend no one come here.
They wasted my time, they added stress to an already stressful situation, and they were blatantly dishonest.
I hope this is not par for the course with them, but if it is they don’t deserve my business, or yours.

Worst experience ever. Every salesperson we interacted with was uneducated on the products they are selling. They all are inconsistent in pricing and reasons for.
On May 24, we special ordered a 2023 Kia ******** *Hybrid (********) through a Kia Build Request at Matthews Kia of Clay. We paid $500 deposit for the vehicle. When the salesperson asked us the colors, our preference was black or gray. However, he suggested Shadow Matte Gray because it was new.
On July 26, the vehicle was available and ready to pick up. Wheels began to fall off at this point (no pun intended).
First, the signed Vehicle Cash Purchase Agreement on May 24, 2022 for the MSRP was lower than the MSRP presented to July 26. No one could explain why the difference, only made up reasons "Did your vehicle come in quicker than expected?"
Second, we ordered cross bars on 5/24 and they were not reflected in the 7/26 "Amount to be financed," and had to be a separate purchase. We asked how much and we heard: "around $300" and "$500". However, I looked on ******* and they're listed at $360. So which is it? Turns out, they went with $500 because the price had gone up since we ordered the vehicle 2 months ago.
Third, we spoke to a friend that evening and they mentioned that Matte finish vehicles must be washed by hand. Before jumping to conclusions, I waited until the following business day to ask our salesperson. Turns out, he told us not to believe everything we read on the internet. However, I came across a Kia article that states matte finish vehicles must be hand washed and never taken through a car wash. I shared the article with the team and they waffled.
How could they leave out this important info to someone living in Syracuse where winters are crazy snowy and salty? Can't take it through a car wash??? This should have been told to us BEFORE we ordered the vehicle and waited 2 months for it.
We killed the deal and are now screwed. They could have cared less. Zero trust in this team.
