      Through ************************************* employer we have the difference card - our insurance is a high deductible plan, and the difference card claims that as a family we pay $1500 towards the deductible that they then the difference card pays the remaining $8500 (to total the ****** deductible) All of the literature from their brokers state this, and all of the information on our member dashboard online state those amounts. Our family had already reached the $1500 deductible in the summer of 2022.********************************* had an outpatient surgery on 12/9/22 - on 12/8/22 he called the difference card about the claim that would be processed and the amount. He was told by an employee at the difference card to go ahead and pay the health care facility ($3989.22) and he would be reimbursed the full about. After the claim processed, he was reimbursed the amount less $748.16 -- they then said that he had an individual maximum of $4250 and that had been met and they would not be reimbursing him further. The employee he spoke with never told him he had an individual maximum, and nowhere on any information did it state that!We have spent the last 6 weeks dealing with their horrible customer service, my husband's employer's HR has tried to help solve the issue as well. No one at the difference card is taking accountability for the fact that they did not give him accurate information on 12/8/22 during that phone call. And no one is acknowledging that all of their literature is misleading and untrue. We feel as though we were lied to and mislead throughout this ordeal. Had we known there would be a large chunk of his claim not reimbursed he would have waited to have the surgery until the new year. The difference card had told us it is our job to know our policy, but we called THEM to have our policy explained and they didn't give us the honest information.
