On October 19, 2025 I had an appt with this company for a work permit renewal. At that day they agree to work in the case and we sing a contract that explain that I will be doing payments of 500 monthly to cover a total of 1500 dollars for the renewal. I ask if they will start woking on the case before the expiration I was explain that they will start woking on it the same day because I did my first payment already. after that every month I received a letter through mail stating to make the payment, payment were constant and on time (no delays). On December I made a call to the office to request information about the case if it was a notification about it office did not answer phone call and I wasn't able to leave voice mail because voice mail box is full. After a week I start calling everyday once a day unfortunately there was not response. Next week after I call to the general number a lady answer me I explain the situation. I was told that I was going to transfer to ******************************* for more information, never was transferred this happen many times the third week of December. 12/31/2024 a man call me to ask for information for my case because they lost my papers about my case (copy of work permit card, social security card and license). He told me that he will work on the case because it hans't been started yet. I ask why they didn't call me before because work permit was about to expire in 01/05/2025. On January 2 was sent the application for the renewal after that never received a phone call to know about the status of the case since then I contact myself with immigration to expedite the case and get information about it. On 01/24/2025 I received a phone call from that company requesting a payment and I ask if they have information about my case and they said that they don't know anything about it. So upset about their job at the end they didn't done anything for my case, I ended calling immigration and request to expedite the case.

Good afternoon - Thank you for your communication. We were hired to assist with the work permit renewal and Adjustment of Status (AOS) on October 19, 2024. We successfully completed the work permit renewal process, submitting the application on time. The renewal was processed in accordance with the agreed terms, and we received the ***** receipt notice on January 3, 2025well before the original work permit expired on January 5, 2025. While the timing was close, it was well within the required timeframe.

The client picked up her new work permit on February 10, 2025. However, she verbally terminated our services before we could proceed with the next step of her case.

Currently, the client has a pending adjustment of status case with us. She has expressed that she does not wish to continue or make payments under her ACH agreement, but she has refused to sign a termination letter to formally end our services.

I double-checked with ****, our immigration attorney, and confirmed that there was no lapse in processingthe renewal was submitted and received on time.

The client agreed to a $4,500 retainer, of which $1,500 has been paid, leaving an outstanding balance of $3,000. Given that weve completed the agreed work, we do not believe a refund is warranted.

We have fully adhered to our contractual obligations and, while we understand the clients frustration, especially regarding communication delays, we believe our actions were timely and correct.

Thank you for your consideration. If I can provide anything else, please let me know. Thank you.

1/4/2023 - I sought an attorney for my court case. Paid $2000, and set up an additional monthly installment payment of $1000 for 3 months, totaling $5000 for all services rendered. This day, I advised their office staff of my pre-indictment conference ( PIC ), scheduled for 1/17/2023. ********** and lawyer never showed at my conference 1/17/2023. Their office was also unable to be contacted. This office never answered my calls from the court house. The law office completely no showed me. The Court advised me to reschedule, in which I did. The law office acknowledged my new court PIC appointment scheduled now on 2/14/2023. They advised me that for sure, the Friday prior, 2/10/23 at 3pm, I would receive an important phone call from my individual lawyer to go over my case. At that time, I waited and made numerous calls until 3:45pm with no one answering. Frustrated now, thinking again law office no showed, I called the court office to explain my current situation. I was advised by my investigator, *******************************, to be sure I made my PIC appointment on 2/14/2023. She recommended that I explained I had no idea who exactly my specific lawyer was by name, only the Cabanillas and Assoc,P.C., that I havent received counsel and to go forward and to seek a public defender at this point at my rescheduled PIC. I arrived early and checked in only to find a lawyer who finally showed up and introduced himself. At this point, I told him how frustrated and completely disappointed I was with him and his office staff regarding their total and complete elusiveness with me and my pending case. After **** min later checking in with the court, I made 7 -10 calls to this attorney *****************************, now knowing his name. He rejected every call..

Our firm was retained by ************************ (Client) on January 6, 2023.  Client advised of a court appearance on January 17, 2023, but same was not confirmed as our firm never received any notice from Client, nor was the court date listed on eCourts (the online court case tracking system) when our office checked.   When Client called from court that day, we immediately called the court but were not able to get a hold of anyone in the criminal division. We filed a notice of appearance with the court [see attached], and our office called Client to advise of case status. Client informed our office that he had received a new court date of February 14, 2023.  We asked him additional questions regarding the underlying incident of the case, and he provided details and vital information, which is what we needed for representing him in court. We advised Client that the assigned attorney would reach out to him the business day before court to answer any questions and that we had to await discovery from the prosecutor before the attorney could begin negotiations. Client understood perfectly fine, and there were no issues as of this time.

Client was scheduled for a call with the assigned attorney on February 10, 2023 to go over any questions Client might have, but the attorney was in a court appearance, which ran longer than expected.  As such, he was unavailable at the scheduled time.  When our office called to reschedule the call, Client was very upset and took out his frustration on the legal assistant by making discriminatory comments to her.  He would not let her speak and refused to reschedule the call with the attorney.   Our attorney appeared at court as scheduled and was going to speak to Client there.   However, Client acted belligerent in court with our attorney as well as court personnel. Client insisted our attorney withdraw representation at this court appearance. As of that time, we no longer represent Client.

This complaint stems from Clients frustration of a missed call with his attorney, which Client refused to reschedule.  That call was missed due to an unavoidable reason, as the attorney was in court, but Client was not understanding of this.  The attorney did show up to court to meet with Client on February 14, 2023, but Client had already made up his mind to terminate services and have our firm withdraw representation.  Our firm is ready, willing, and able to provide Client with a refund of the fees he paid less our court appearance fee for our attorney being in court as scheduled.
