I open an account recently in planet fitness. I was charged four fees ****** fee membership fee annual fee late fee I contact the area manger by email and phone. I have been trying unsuccessfully for ove six weeks to have my home club switched from *********, ******** to ************ at Military Trail. I have emailed and left voice messages for *********************, area manager, Queens/Brooklyn numerous times. ************** did not have the decency to call me or email me back to help me with my problem.I had requested that my home club be transferred from ************ to ********* back in May. My wife had a heart attack in early June and I am not able to return to ******** due to her illness. I then requested my home club be transferred back to ************. I cannot do the switch online because it has not been 90 days since I transferred to *********. I went to the ***************** and the management told me they cannot do the switch because the ********* club is my home club. The ********* club cannot do the switch either.I need PF Corporate to override the 90 day rule and do the switch for me back to *****************.Please help.Initial Complaint

On May 10, 2023, I signed up with Planet Fitness with the insurance from the young female manager that I can cancel my membership in June 2023 due to a temporary stay with family until I relocate to ******, ********. On June 16, 2023, I requested a cancellation of my membership via phone and was told to come into the gym. I walk to the gym to proceed with the cancellation. The employee stated that the system wouldn't allow him to cancel. He asked how long have I been a member. I replied, "May 10, 2023." He responded that I will be charged a Buy-Out fee. I asked for a printout showing what he explained. He stated that he couldn't provide anything.Customer Answer

The gym has debited my account the normal monthly membership of $26.16 and a additional $41.16 for the past 5 months. I have only one active membership and annual dues are due August 2023. I have tried resolving issue by speaking with the gym manager ********************* on 5/8/23 and showing my complete bank statements for the past 5 months, it also confirms I did not have any NSF charges, so why the additional charges. I gave copies of my supporting documents, he assured me he would fax documents to the appropriate party. As I file this complaint after speaking with manager again, still no resolution.Customer Answer

I was able to reach out to the business and met with the Club Mgr ************************ who was able to give more clarification as to the reason why I was charge, and after further review I now understand the valid charges.I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Was charged three late fees, even though I provided a valid bank account number and routing number, prior to due date. The employee entered the bank account incorrectly, despite the fact I provided a blank check with bank account number. I have provided three forms of payment, yet continue to receive late fees. I have been billed by your ** gym continually for an act that my daughter opened using my credit card, I have called the number on my charges and talked with a different person each month, I even filled a fraud with my credit card company and they cancelled the card and sent a new one. I still get charged by the gym . Last month feb 28th I was charged ***** the lady I spoke with said she cancelled the card from there file. I got charged ***** this month on 3/21 . I just called and talked with some man with a foreign accent and said it was from the second act? and it was an annual fee.? I dont have either act and my daughter is not living there either? I went in of October 2022 to cancel my membership and they told me to wait another month otherwise I would be charged a cancellation fee. I agreed to wait and went back in November. In November they told me okay they canceled it. However, in December I noticed I was charged for November, December, and the annual fee at the end of December. I called immediately and asked them what was going on and they said it was never canceled. I asked them how that is possible when I physical went in and they told me it was canceled and they do not know. They informed me they would cancel it while I was on the phone with them and to call back another day to ask for a refund. I called and emailed and the manager is very reluctant to get back to me and he keeps pushing me off. I have asked him numerous times for his superiors contact information and he does not give it to me. I have friends that complained about the same situation. They are running a scam at that gym and charging people fees without their consent. I want my refund for November, December, and the annual fee they charged me.Initial Complaint

False advertising. When I signed up, it was never mentioned there is an annual fee. On top of that, I was charged $51 when it says online the annual fee is $40. Additionally, they charged me 2 months into the membership, how are you going to charge an annual fee when you haven't even been a member for 3 months? It's shameless false advertising, the bait and switch. They get you to sign up and then charge you whatever they like. I was really happy with my choice of Planet Fitness, now I feel like I got scammed by them and want to cancel my membership. Just another greedy corporation.Initial Complaint

Hello, This is a complaint regarding a fee from planet fitness. They advertised $1 down and $10 a month. Ive had their subscription previously and there was never a annual fee. I signed up in January and was charged a $51.00 annual fee + being that I was unaware of the fee the funds werent available and I was charged an overdraft fee that Id also like credited back to my account. Id like my funds back being that this information wasnt advertised correctly. I went to planet fitness in October advise I had a heart attack and had to cancel they told me my account would be canceled. In December I looked at my account planet fitness still charging me an annual fee plus 42 a month when my bill should be around ***** a month than I was charged again January 2023 I spoke to someone they gave me a email address ******************************************* to advise I need to close my account February 2023 Im still being charged 41 a month first off this account should of been closed since October plus Im Being charged 41 and should be charged ***** my agreement number is ***** I want a refund from when I said I wanted to close this accident that was in October.
