    I have a 25 ac. woods and some areas were being over run with multi flora rose. I worked on spraying all the roses and then after they were dead Jakes came to brush hog them down, this gave us a cleaner area for better use of the land. The equipment and the operator are the best, Jakes knew how to start and finish the job. very happy to have used Jakes service. *** *****

    Jake and his crew were amazing! We had an old pool and deck that we just didn’t use and was starting to become an eyesore. We decided to have it tore out and replaced with pea gravel and a fire pit and had the area fenced in. This was no small project! Jake and his crew worked for 4 days straight and transformed our backyard from unusable space to a private oasis. We couldn’t be happier! Thanks Jake and crew!

    Jake and Company replaced my old retaining wall next to my driveway, built in 1971 with used railroad-ties. The new wall, built using new pressure treated lumber, was slightly straightened and re-routed to better fit the driveway. It looks fantastic, and is obviously built to last with strong construction techniques and proper drainage. The project was finished in just a few days, including cleanup, touching up the hillside, re-seeding the somewhat mangled grass, and repairing the slight but unavoidable damage to the driveway.

    While the work performed was excellent, the business practices of Jake’s leaves a lot to be desired.
    First, they only accept email or web forms for work. You can’t call them and talk to anybody. When you do, they advise you to send in the proposal emailed to you from them, signed and with a credit card number, expiration and security code. To a GMAIL address. This is a HUGE red flag. NEVER send CC information via email, even more so, when you include your home address and zip code on the proposal. With this information, anyone could create new credit accounts and charge against your card. VERY bad business practice. I am a cyber security advisor and have worked with some of the largest companies in the world. This business practice is abhorrent.
    OK, so back to the job…. In short, I received and signed a proposal for work to be performed ($3276.75). Of course, they want a credit card and billed $1600 on the card prior to the work. The day the work was performed and completed, they charged another $1712.73 for a total of $3312.73. Overcharged by $35.98. When I asked about the overcharge (via email since you cannot really talk to a person if you call). They simply emailed me an invoice showing Paid in Full with a line item adjusted to be more than the proposal to justify the overcharge. Keep in mind, the day before this, I received an invoice via US Mail for the original amount. They simply doctored up a new invoice. No explanation, no call, no email explaining it either. Just here you go. I may decide to do a chargeback on the CC for the correct amount. We will see. Either way, I won’t be using Jake’s again. Buyer beware.

    the invoice was for one extra ton of stone used for your project... BTW - the work was excellent ... if you can afford 1 extra ton please do not hire us... we invoice for the exact amount of stone used on your job... sometimes the price goes down... read copy and past of my email reply I sent on July 30th ...
    I replied with this response on June 30th - I just resent this invoice - the difference is 1 ton of additional #411 limestone was used more than quoted.... we invoice for the exact tonnages used on each job
