Ruined furniture. Slow workers equaled extra expenses.
The movers showed up 3 hours late. They smoked while they were moving and took smoke breaks. They were very out of shape so a 3 hour job took 5 and I was charged an extra $200 for that. They swore they didn't need to use rope to tie things down, because they packed in such a way that everything was tight and didn't move. I have a stained glass chandeliwe with an "L-shape" dint in it that proves otherwise. I had 24 blankets to use and they only used 12. They turned my like new dining room table upside down onto the metal with no blankets at all and the metal scraped the finish all over and left terrible black marks. I had double checked that they were putting blankets around all the furniture and they promised that they did, but they did not. The finish is ruined. They did the same thing to a painted bookshelf. When I told the owner about it, he ignored what I told him, threatened not to finish the cleaning job I hired them for until I paid for the extra hours, and then tried to shame me by saying my house was really dirty because of fruit juice and other jars leaking in the refrigerator and because pizza was burned on the bottom of the stove. I had tried cleaning the house completely, but I had injured my back and I could not do it. If you use these folks, you will get your nice furniture ruined, they will be very slow and charge you extra for it, and you'll be threatened any way they can if they do anything wrong to you. Fair warning.

I'm very sorry you feel this way. We did load the truck the best we could with the materials provided. We informed you that you needed more stretch wrap and moving pads. As for any extra charges were due to the condition the house was left in for the cleaning crew. We do charge extra for removing rotten food from fridge. Thanks for your business.

The movers did not even open two bags of blankets that I rented from Uhaul, which equaled twelve blankets. They out no blankets down underneath my dining room table and I found out later, my painted bookshelf. My chandelier has an L-shape dint, as well as other dents and missing pieces, because the placed it between a bookshelf and a tote with heavy items in it that crushed the tote below it. The items were not secured with ropes, so they moved around and the chandelier was broken. My house was not that dirty. And yes, they refused to finished cleaning it until I agreed to the extra charges of moving labor for men who worked slowly, took smoke breaks, and smoked while they were moving. I have text messages and pictures that prove what I am saying. The new charges were not covered under Uhaul's agreement, and since you do not have to pay unless you are satisfied, he charged me the extra and for the overpriced regular cleaning charge to recoup his money. If an owner will not take responsibility for his companies actions, you should think twice before working with the company and the man. He assured me, when I first spoke with him, that he would use all the blankets and ropes necessary to keep things from getting damaged. It was all just talk. I will work through the Uhaul complaint program to get money to fix my broken and damaged property.
