I missed a payment and told them I would make the payment after my great aunt’s funeral, and they told me they could come to the funeral home and pick the payment up. I told them they could come pick the furniture up and they never did. Rent 2 own also is reaching out to people that are not my references discussing how much I owe. I got a letter in the mail from collections stating it got sent to collections. They left me alone for about a month and recently started back calling people and now trying to charge my card.Rent 2 Own

Step daughter rented some items and got behind
She tried making arrangements to pay
Threats started immediately including threats of police wage garnishment and threats to work and family
They sold her account to collections and still trying to get payments charging cards and bank accounts
The ethical and moral delinquency on part of the store in bridgeport Ohio is horrid
I'm getting harassing calls from rent 2 own saying I will have to pay the debt and I have nothing to do with the company and was not listed on any paperwork as a contact or referencesRent 2 Own

If you would like, you can contact our Home Office at 1-800-526-5606 and ask to speak to the regional manager over the Bridgeport to tell your experience. Thank you!!!Review fromMary R B

I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. They are not straight up front. Took over hour to sign my agreements. I was to get a iPhone 11 and got a iPhone 12 that was all beat up and they want 889.99 plus tax. I was told that their price was cheaper than **** * ******. They are more than *** in the long run. I paid 29.75 to only have my phone 3 days and they said they don’t give money back. I order a IPhone 11 and a Chofa same thing I have from *** they want $201.00 a month and *** only wants $174.00. The district manager never returns your calls. I would think twice before going to this company.Rent 2 Own

I fell behind on my payments, I work from home so they day they decided to come to my house, I was working told the manager that they would have to come back at a later time, he pushed my door open which resulted in hitting me in my face and leg. My leg took most of the impact and has bruising, he then put his foot in my door to where I couldn't close it. My children was in the home and watch it all unfold and my children are now traumatized from it. A police report was filed, and charges was pressed. When I contacted the regional manager nothing was done, not even an apology only wondered when they could come get their stuff. This manager did things illegally by trying to force his way into my house and resulted in a bodily injury. I ask if I could have a copy of the signed contract they could not provide one because one was never signed. They handed me a blank one in the store and was harassed by every employee in the store. I immediately contacted the regional manager while it was happening in the store, and still nothing was done. Hope they know now that a lawsuit is on there hands.Rent 2 Own

Wanting me to keep paying on a washer that is burned up, They come to my house to fix it,tell me the mother board is burned up and tell me I have to replace the plug in and have it re wired before they will fix it....Who says I have to use the same plug in,I could run a extension cord to a different plug until I have time to replace the plug and wire...But no they want me to keep paying on something that doesn't workRent 2 Own

Timothy Gaines it is not safe to use the same plug until the wiring has been fixed. It you can no longer use the product you have it returned. Running an extension cord is a fire hazard. As long as you have the product in the house and on a rental agreement you need to make the payments.

The Cambridge, OH rent-to-own is an absolute joke. I have never had so many issues with them and for what? Now I am no where near perfect, like who is, right? However, the reason there are these rent-to-own programs are for those who are struggling to either buy things out right or who are struggling credit wise to finance things. We rented a washer/dryer set from the *********, ** store and we always made our payments on time. COVID hit and we fell behind some months, ya know we werent happy with ourselves, but we were still pushing to get them paid. Our washer and dryer broke and we were finally caught up and had only one payment left. When my husband rented originally from them, he had purchased the protection plan because they told us it was included in our payments each week. THAT WAS AN ABSOLUTE LIE. When we called to see if they can come look at it, ***************************** REFUSED to send anyone because we didnt have that protection plan anymore? Im sorry? What? She told us we lost it once we got behind the first time. No one ever told us that and if thats the case then why did my payments stay the same? So we made the last payment and took it as a loss. We inquired on a washer on August 29th and ******* emailed my husband and told him to call her at the store. She told us we had to provide a month payment up front before they would rent to us. Okay, whatever, wasnt a huge issue. We just ended up not doing it. Fast forward to today, November 2nd, 2022, my husband contacted about a couch because ours is broken. As soon as my husband said his name, *******, said oh we cant rent to you. So all my husband wanted to know was the reasoning. ******* said its because you applied in the last 60 days. My husband told her we havent its been over *********************************************************************************************** past. So why is it they will rent to people who have sold their items in the past, but not to people who was late before???Katie C.

The people the rent to who have sold their products without paying r2o are still renting things to this day. I just dont understand because ******** story keeps changing. Its always something different, excuse wise. We have asked to speak to the store manager, ***************************, before and she wouldnt let us. Honestly, ****** wouldnt do anything anyway because her and ******* are so close. Its such an awful way to run a business. The old store manager, ********, we never had any issues with her or any of the staff with her running it. The store manager, ******, she harasses and comments on peoples post on ******** or ends up in their ******** messages regarding payments? Like dont you think thats unprofessional? The fact they are taking are information and looking us up on every single social media is a bit concerning. I know multiple individuals who have went through that. We were wanting to put money in a business but employees who are rude and not customer service oriented, are ruining it for everyone. Oh, so at the very end of the conversation with ******* today, November 2nd, 2022, my husband told ******* to take us off their mailing list since were not allowed to rent, and ******* made it known she already did that after the first phone call. My husband just plainly said ya know if we get anything else, Ill take it up for harassment, and shes like oh thanks for the threat. Its not a threat, we just dont want the advertisements anymore if youre not going to rent with us. Its literally a different excuse every. single. time.Review fromBite M

1 starI have spoke to several employees before I even choose to rent from them well I can say that was a horrible mistake not only myself but atleast ************************************************************* worse this company not only false advertises but they also will remove money from your account without permission and most the time double what was owed then say oh you still this much for this month but thats after they call you and basically disrespect calling you slum and calling your job ive heard from serval of these people because of them doing that they lost there job all this company is a cash scam they don't fix nothing and if u do need it fixed you best believe your wating a month for them to pick it up before u even get a replacement and get charged for the pickup then charged for fixing it I thought it was my understanding that a company that rents things is responsible for repairs. This whole company is a scam. Should be avoided at all costs. They were charging my card without my consent. I don't have the items anymore because I had returned them. They said that I haven't returned them. They are a complete scam but don't be afraid of them because they can't actually do anything. They are a scam scam this whole company should be shut down for fraud and scam. They also will follow your vehicle around and find out where you live. They will dig through your personal information. If you miss even one payment they will harass you. They will show up and try and break into your house. They will harass family at my new place. If they show up they will be shot because it's government property. They won't even be allowed on premise as I have a government job now but they are a complete scam. Avoid renting from this company at all costRent 2 Own

We are sorry you feel this way. When customers do not communicate with their account manager about the account when it falls past due, they take necessary measures to reach out and discuss your account with you. We understand things happens and our account managers can work with our customers when the call back and do not avoid them. All of the payments are set up on auto pay which is completed at the time the items are rented in the beginning. The system will attempt to take the payment that is past due until it is paid up to date. Contacting your account manager or store manager can be helpful and working out a payment plan to get your account current. Accounts must be current to benefit from the service process for merchandise on rent. This is explained on your rental agreement.Review fromTye S

I bought two laptops threw rent to own last year, had some hiccups with payments and stuff but taxes were coming around and I planned to pay them off right anyways. Fast forward they are paid off and I return possibly about purchasing a monitor in mid February. I was told I was already been out and returned by a previous customer . I was told the same as cash 6 month cost was 450. Fast forward to July and I still owe over 300 on the monitor and have been making the payments on time. Your saying you up charged me so much on taxes and interest that I could pay more than 100 dollars towards my item already? This is ********** believe I have been lied to and played. On top of this I got moved to a two week pay schedule asked if that'd be okay, gotnyeah sure next payment should be 40. All of a sudden this week I need to pay that plus an extra week to be caught up? Why wasn't i given that Info the week before? Why am I all of sudden being charged extra money? Do not do not do not go to the rent to own I'm ********** oh, they will only lie and best around the **** to get you on an item then completely change their s*** with out you knowing.Rent 2 Own

When accounts become past due there are late fees added which will increase the amount due. At anytime calling and speaking to the store manager can clear up misunderstandings and usually can work with you when an event happens which causes your account to result in a past due status. The store manager will see what can be done to help assist the customer in getting account current to avoid late payment charges. And if accounts are not paid in full by the same as cash option, which is outlined on the rental agreement then the cash total will increase on the rental agreement. Calling and speaking to the manager is best thing to do.
