Transmission had pressure regulator problem that's why I wanted them to pull the transmission pan so they could check that part and run test on it, instead they pulled transmission and said.it was.trashed.

    6/19/24
    Mr. ****** brought his 2009
Chevy Avalanche with over 164,000 miles on it and badly slipping 3-4-5-6 and he
asked us to “check slipping” pm 8/28/23.
He authorized the removal of his transmission for an internal inspection
on 8-28-23 and provided his birthday as verbal authorization.  The next day, Mr. ****** authorized his
transmission to be rebuilt by Brownies it! shops and provided his mothers
maiden name for verbal authorization.  As
of 6/19/24 Mr. ****** has paid Brownies it! shops $0 for the work completed on
his vehicle.  We obviously do not want to
take the vehicle from him as we have allowed 9 months to pass with little
pressure from our side.  However, if Mr. ******
does not pay for services rendered; we will be forced to use a mechanics lien to
acquire our compensation.  We are willing
to waive all but $100.00 of storage fees if the original balance is paid within
the next 15 days (7-3-24) in cash.  We can
no longer do nothing with $0 being paid to us and we can’t store his vehicle
    forever.
    Regrettably and respectively

I did not authorize them to take transmission out of truck .. They called and said they would wave storage fees. That still doesn't cover them rebuilding transmission just another scam to get money for work not authorized.. I found out they had already made arrangements to get the truck through Westlake Financial, at this point I have no way to pay for both. Thanks for your help!

Paid to have car towed home in pieces after having car towed there for a free inspection

    Business Response

*** ***** received a free diagnostic of his vehicle after it
    arrived.  That diagnostic concluded the
SUV had an internal transmission failure.
*** ***** authorized Brownies IT to remove his transmission and perform
an internal diagnosis. *** ***** actually came into the shop and paid for this
in person and there was no confusion about what was being done. Once the
transmission was out and inspected by our rebuilders, *** ***** was given the
complete scope of the repair.  *** ***** declined
for the repair to be completed and asked that Brownies assemble the vehicle so
that it could be towed to the scrap yard.
Brownies IT informed the customer the frame would be reinstalled, and
the transmission would be placed in the trunk on cardboard.  The customer agreed to this and signed our
invoice acknowledging the vehicle was being towed in a state of disrepair.  Brownies IT has no responsibility to refund
the customer for work he authorized and acknowledged.
    We wish him well.
    Respectfully submitted,

In February 2023, I took my Dodge Journey to the Brownies IT in Beavercreek because the transmission went out. It took them around a week to repair it and it was not done correctly and had to go back a few weeks later. They did fix it for the time being. Then earlier this week, the transmission went out again, within the warranty time frame. I took it back to Brownies and they said they will take about a week to do a diagnostic on it. I asked the manager, if I could get refunded for my rental for the time that they have the car, since it would not need to be back in there if they had properly fixed the transmission in February. I was told that they do not do that. I then proceeded to get a hold of their district manager, whom I had to track down, because he did not call me after I requested a call. He said that he would try to escalate the vehicle to move through the repair process quicker, but that they do not refund anything for loss wages or rentals. He did not offer this in writing though. I am unpleased with this resolution, as it is not a resolution for me. If my faulty work caused them to not be able to work or get around; then I would be responsible for making that happen. I want Brownies to do what *** *****, the President, says is right; which is doing what is right for the customer. What is right for me; is for Brownies to pay for the rental that I am having to get as a result of them not properly fixing my transmission right the first time.

    **** ******
transmission was repaired properly the first time, and it lasted through the
entire warranty period. Her issue was mismatched tires on an All-Wheel Drive vehicle.  This was explained to her and her husband
when she brought her vehicle in complaining of shaking in Sept of this year. Her
transmission did fail in Sept of this year.
If you put 2 to 3 tires of different sizes on an “All-Wheel Drive”
vehicle the tires WILL rotate at different speeds and WILL tear up the differential
AND transmission.  It was their choice to
put these tires on their vehicle.  They
accepted our Limited Warranty Terms when her husband signed our invoice at the
bottom middle of the invoice.  The “Limited
Warranty Terms” states “The work performed can many times fail, due to no fault
of the warrantor … This warranty will not be valid if the work has been abused.”  Also, our work is over 10,000 miles out of warranty,
which exceeds the 12,000 miles warrantied period.  These are the 2 reasons our work is out of
    warranty.
We do wish the Ross’s well.

I am rejecting this response because: Brownies does not stand by their work. When the car was brought back in, while still under warranty, the issue was not the tires. We did end up putting four brand new tires, all the same brand, on the SUV and the transmission still went back out. Brownies is a joke. There are a ton of google reviews giving the same sad story about how their vehicle was not repaired correctly and Brownies never takes the blame for it. It is a business that rips people off and only puts a band-aid on the problem. The "owner" responds to all complaints and never takes ownership for the lack of craftsmanship of  his employees. *** has made a small fortune from the misfortune of any customer that comes to his four shop locations. I would NEVER recommend anyone to do business with this company. They are clearly paying to have a A+ rating with the BBB. Just because a company responds doesn't make them a good company to do business with. You can respond and not satisfy the customer.

    Sincerely,
