    Nightmare company!!
As a female, I look for shops that have been recommended to me and Brownies was recommended as somewhere trustworthy. Unfortunately that is not the case. I dealt with Doug during all my interactions. I brought in a car that I needed a second opinion on but was still running. They pulled a bait and switch and suddenly in order to tell me anything beyond the codes that auto zone was telling me, it was going to be $672.
Then once I paid that, and they quoted me an absently high price to fix my car, he berates me and lectures me on how foolish I would be to not let him fix my car and that if I decide to purchase a used car, I'd be right back in his shop. When I said i needed to think about the "options" he gave me, he goes "well how long do you need ? 10 min? I need an answer.".
I called back and told them I do not want to pursue having th car repaired there and would need to pick it up. That's when they inform me that to return my car to the condition I brought it to then, it would be an ADDITIONAL $1300+ !!
They absolutely refused to return my car to the condition I brought it to them. Every interaction was Shady, disrespectful and again as a woman, the classic nightmare sitiation of being treated inappropriately and dishonestly.
I finally was able to have my car towed home with all the parts placed in my back seat. The tow truck driver told me he had heard many testimonies like mine about Brownies and that it is such a shame they keep getting away with such terrible business practices.
Shame on Brownies and their team. Stay far away from this "business"!!!

TOTALLY SCREWED ME... COST ME A TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER CASE.
This shop replaced a worn out transfer case on my wifes 2014 cadillac CTS coupe 17 to 18 months ago at a cost of over $3000. While driving, we heard a bang and lost all drive train leaving us stranded. Not knowing what the problem was I had the car towed to a trusted garage. Upon inspection, they said the transfer case had gone out. I called Brownies and inquired about my warranty to which I was told... 1) The 12 month warranty has expired and would not be honored. 2) I can pay another towing fee to have it brought to them and they'll "check it out". 3) He can talk to "them" but can't say that anything can be done price wise cause the warranty is up. 4) If another shop has already looked at it they will not honor anything. Upset and left with the impression that they would not help me out in any way and just charge me full price for another repair and since another shop had already looked at it, I chose NOT to pay another towing fee and have the place that messed it up work on it again. I told the trusted shop to go ahead and repair it. When the trusted shop took it apart they found that it had not been assembled correctly at Brownies. It seems that the dowel pins between the transmission and transfer case were never put back in. This caused damage to both the transfer case AND the transmission, which both had to be replaced at a cost of over $6800. I again contacted Brownies to complain that their mistake had damaged both transfer case and transmission. I was then told that I should have brought it back to them because they could have worked with me on it and saved me some money. He is saying this after previously telling me they couldn't do anything about it in the first phone call. My impression is that if I had taken it back to them we would have never known that it was assembled incorrectly in the first place. Their screw up cost me a transmission.
GO SOMEWHERE ELSE... CANT BE TRUSTED

****** ****** found that the “splines on the ‘TRANSMISSION’ output shaft were stripped and have
damaged splines at input” (of the TRANSFER CASE). This is a failure of the TRANSMISSION output shaft
for which we did not charge for, therefore, would not warranty! Brownies simply replaced the
TRANSFER CASE plus labor to install per our invoice #HD08345 dated 5/1/2021.
If you google “Car Problems, Cadillac CTS Transmission, Transfer Case” you will find numerous
complaints about transmissions failing due to the transmission splines stripping out!
Brownies has rebuilt/repaired THOUSANDS of transmission/transfer cases since 1957 and we have seen
weak spots on numerous vehicles such as the transmission output shafts on Cadillac CTS’s.
We never charged for any TRANSMISSION work, therefore, it would not be guaranteed. Also, the work
we did do, is out of warranty by a half year. Also, Mr. B****** never brought his Cadillac back to us
and never gave us the opportunity to help him. ******* doesn’t honor Midas’s warranties!
Every vehicle runs on used parts and each part has a probability of failure – some probabilities are
greater than others. We are sorry that the B******’s had issues, but we do wish them well.
PS We request the Better Business Bureau take down this complaint because after the damage was
inspected by ****** ****** (another repair shop) said the TRANSMISSION failed – NOT the work that
    we did and charged for.
    Respectfully Submitted,

Splines on transmission were damaged because (as already stated) brownies did not put the required alignment dowel pins in the transfer case when they worked on it. this caused a misalignment between the transfer case and the transmission splines which caused the damage to both and both had to be replaced. They can try to claim that damage to splines is "common" and you can google BAD workmanship all you want, but its a fact that their mistake in not re-assembling it properly caused damage to both and cost me a transmission. We have statement from Rogers garage stating that there were no alignment dowel pins in it when they pulled it apart. Google Alignment Dowel Pins, And NO i did not allow Brownies to work on it again after talking to them and them REFUSING to help me with it. Why would I let the guy who messed it up work on it again?? If I had sent it back to them I would've never know that it was not correctly assembled in the first place. do you think they would've called me to admit that. Matter is being turned over to lawyers... we'll see what they have to say.
