      If it was possible to give negative stars I absolutely would. This company is crooked. Has stolen over $10,000, half of which was this morning, even after ending our business with this company back in April. **** ***** has the worst customer service I have ever experienced and had absolutely no idea what she was talking about while we were trying to create a business relationship with this company.
      They made me jump through hoops just to maybe get approved, just for her to deny us after giving the money and paperwork she claimed was necessary. THEIFS.

      This is the absolute worst payroll company you can possibly think of. They reported my payroll incorrect more times than they got it right. They are incompetent and it takes going through 30 different people to get an issue resolved. Taxes were garnished from my personal account because they failed to pay them on my behalf. Stay far away from this payroll provider! Horrible customer service with every single employee there.

      The person who referred Heartland to me has been apologetic about how bad the experience has been. Heartland made some egregious errors during my time using them as a payroll company.
      - Heartland failed to update my payroll runs with 401k amounts, after 401k enrollment process was completed and confirmed in writing, leading to overpayment of taxes which took several months to remedy with a significant amount of time devoted to rectifying Heartland's error
      - Heartland attempting to run payroll during unpaid parental leave, after payroll had been put on pause, which would have made reports filed with the EDD and state disability insurance/paid family leave fraudulent; because of this, I had to take time away from my family, close to the Christmas holiday, to get this payroll stopped
      - Heartland stated in writing that they would change business address with the EDD when the business address changed, but failed to do so, leading to me missing several important pieces of mail and to financial losses
      - I received multiple underpayment notices from the EDD, raising question of inaccurate tax calculations by Heartland
      - Many times I have called to follow up on earlier phone calls and been told that there was no record of the earlier phone call, suggesting spurious recordkeeping on Heartland's part
      I recommend avoiding.

      My son updated his W4 April of last year because we thought that he may had completed it incorrectly, but this year he had no taxes taken out again. They tell the employer that it’s because he didn’t make enough money. I have customer who only made $50.00 and still have taxes taken out. He made 7048.00 this year and they still didn’t take out taxes. With all of these complaints we have enough for a class action lawsuit, my attorney advised.

      I reached out to heartland to inquire about adjusting child support deductions from my check because they have been deducting the incorrect amount for two months. I asked how to get it corrected and sent proof that it was incorrect and I got a response from Erika K*** that was incredibly passive aggressive. She said “we don’t make changes at the demand or command of the employee”, as if I was demanding her to fix it. I was asking for direction. It was insensitive and unnecessary. A simple “please have your employer email us the updated order would have sufficed. Not all the other passive aggressive and rude commentary.

      If I could go back I would... What an atrocious company! I have cycled through about 9 people trying to get onboarded, everyone who works there appears to know literally ONLY the exact things they need to do their EXACT job so if you have any question outside that realm, they cannot help you, they give you a direct phone number but really it's just a voicemail that asks you to leave a message for someone and "he" will get back to you. I receive reminder emails to approve payroll but they include a broken link every time (I was told my request to have this fixed sounded like a "feature enhancement."). I receive notifications and am asked to download reports only to find them blank. I could go on and on but I have better things to do. The only reason I am still with them is because I stupidly signed a three-year contract.

      If I could give 0 stars I would. I've been using their payroll for 10 years and every 2 weeks its like pulling teeth to get ahold of someone let alone Chavon Thompson which is supposed to be my rep. I have over 100 emails and messages in to her with no response. Switching companies is a big ordeal. I just wish they would do what I pay for. Never start with them

      STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY. I have never dealt with such horrific customer service in my life. They tell you they are going to do something, and they do not do it, until you've called about 4 more times, get put through the ringer, get different answers from each person you speak to, and so on. At one point they withdrew additional funds from my business account that were incorrect, and it took me 4 WEEKS, 4 PHONE CALLS, AND 4 EMAILS to FINALLY get an answer on it and get that handled and taken care of, and let me say, this was just one issue, there were several others. I truly, truly hope that this company gets noticed for their lack of customer service, their lack of doing their jobs as a full service payroll company, all of it so that other fellow business owners do NOT make the same MISTAKE going with them.
      Put it this way, I changed payroll companies at the beginning of the second quarter... that's how poor they are at doing their jobs and how eager I was after months of being given the run around on issue after issue after issue on their end to no longer be associated with them whatsoever.

      Stay away at all costs!!!!!!! Payroll management is not easy for small businesses. Heartland does not partner with you and they created a tax liability for me due to errant filings. I cannot talk to anyone other than my account rep. I am 20 hours of my own time and $35,000 in costs seeking to get this fixed. There is no support or even interest in helping
