      We have now been with Heartland since August 2022 when our California based payroll company was acquired. The only positive feedback is that their systems from technological standpoint are decent once you can get Heartland to set them up properly; however, they don't have good (not even average) customer support to backup their systems. So when you have an issue that continues to not be resolved, there is never an option to be transferred to a supervisor/manager...as they either do not exist in this organization or their staff is not permitted to escalate issues to them. Heartland would be better served by providing clients with the ability to provide/revoke administration access for their own organization given how challenging it is for them to get these correctly updated/changed. They appear be short staffed since they are unable resolve issues timely.

      The Heartland team prides itself on exemplary customer service and we’re sorry to see that has not been the experience for you so far. We do offer the additional support of our leadership team as needed. Like much of the country, we have had our fair share of staffing concerns and we work each day to remedy that and get on the right track for the future! A member of our leadership team has since reached out to Ms. Lucas to help address her concerns and resolve any outstanding issues she may have.

      Worst payroll co.
      I’m going back with *** tomorrow, I’m not even going to waste the time explaining how terrible and horrendous this co. runs their operation because they are the worst. The end!

      Heartland apologizes for the delivery issues you experienced with our delivery vendor. Unfortunately, the recent bad weather had a negative effect on the delivery timeline. We have issued a $75 credit to your bank account to try and ease the "pain" of a delayed payroll delivery.       Heartland has been one of the WORST payroll companies I have ever worked for, the customer service, if you should even call it that, is horrible. I have been waiting for our tax reports from the first Qtr 2022 for over a month, there is no response and when they do, which is not often, I get the same response "we are waiting for our tax team", the mistake was made by them yet we CANNOT get our reports, we are not with *** and we cannot file our 2nd Qtr because we cannot get them to fix their mistake and get our correct reports, it is incredible that this company is even in business. Julie who is supposed to be a supervisor has been brushing us off form weeks, nothing gets done and NOONE is taking care of the problem. Heartland is unprofessional, unresponsive, frustrating, customer service is something they never heard of and extremely expensive the the "service" they provide. I will be filling complaints with every outlet I can. Heartland is the worst company I have ever worked with. DO NOT USE THEM

      In Quarter 1 of 2022, a 401k issue resulted in payroll being processed incorrectly. Heartland was notified of the situation and a correction was completed in early April. Because Heartland expedited the resolution prior to submitting original returns to the agency, an amended return was not necessary. Heartland was able to correct Quarter 1 returns prior to them being filed with the taxing authorities. This information was communicated timely to the client.
      At the end of Quarter 2 of this year, the client decided to move their payroll processing services to another provider but did not notify Heartland of this change. Reports for the last payrolls in Quarters 1 and 2 were pulled by the client to provide to their new payroll provider, but the report corresponding with the 401k correction was not used. This caused a discrepancy between what was filed on the tax returns and what was provided to the new payroll provider. All Heartland filed tax returns and tax payments are in fact correct.
      Heartland realizes that we had an opportunity to be more timely and thorough in our follow-up with the client. Proper coaching has been provided and we have reached out to the client in order to apologize and provide further clarification of the situation.
