      Called Action door on 2/13/24. Estimate given from **** that a new torsion spring would cost 250 dollars. I called back later to schedule an appointment because that estimate was the best compared to other local places around. Appointment schedule for 2/14/24 and I told **** I wouldn't be home, but my wife would be here.
      **** came on 2/14/24 to do the project and he told my wife the cost was 299 dollars, 50 dollars more that what I was told over the phone. Also a 25 dollar Surcharge was added. When asked what the surcharge was, was told "It is added to everything."
      My wife let the guy **** preform the repairs texting me when I was at work. The next day I called and talked to ******, and she explained to me that I was "mis quoted" by ****, and the cost of the part was 299. Ok so 50 dollars more. When I asked about the surcharge and what it was for she explained that the 25 dollars was charged to everyone. I asked why they do not let the customers know that a surcharge would be added, she didn't know have an answer except to point the finger at **** saying he should have been upfront with me when I scheduled the appointment. Lastly, the service contract shows a balance of 324.00 dollars, They charged my credit card $330.48. Called for a second time, talked to ****** who again apologized, pointed the finger as **** and said a credit card fee was applied of $6.48 was applied because we did not pay at the time of service. She said the only reason I didn't pay at time of service is because **** was checking on the price due to the miss quote, otherwise we wouldn't have paid it. ****** did apologize and told my wife she would email a different invoice which she never did. I am contacting the BBB because of fraud, I was fraudulently overcharged by Action Door, what a scam.

      Credit Card fee charged because of "convince" which we shouldn't have used the credit card in the 1st place.

      This complaint is for Action Door of Elyria. - They are the company that performed the service for Mr. Haas.  Action Door Brooklyn Hts. had nothing to do with this service.

      **** **** has contacted the wrong BBB. He contacted Action Door in Brooklyn Hts., Cuyahoga County, Ohio. 

      We are "NOT" affiliated with Action Door Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio -  Please delete this complaint from our history/review immediately.

      **** **** will have to go thru Action Door of Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio BBB to complain about their service. Please confirm and reply to let me know this has transpired.

      Action Door is not one big company, there is different ownership per branch/area.

      On 6/30/23 I was sold a garage door from Action Door and told that the door would take 4 weeks to be ordered. After paying one half the price $1594 paid the door was ordered. I was told to call the store for installation date, however after talking to the installer department I was given the date of 9/14/23. This is totally unacceptable to me because if I had known when the sale-man came to my home, that I would not have installation until mid September I would not have gone with Action Door. I had two other companies that could have delivered and installed my door in August. I feel that Action Door has held my money hostage.

      Action Door called ***** ******* and rescheduled her installation date for Tuesday August 29th.  Action Door has been in business for over 55 years and uses only company employees to install our products.

      Many garage door companies use subcontractors for their labor. Company employees take much more pride in their workmanship and consumer relations. Unfortunately, todays labor force in the construction

      industry is lacking in numbers. Action Door is happy we could move up ***** *******'s installation date to the month of August, and will provide top of the line workmanship that all our customers are used to.
