Duct cleaning. My house was a mess after they left I had to wash down walls and surrounding areas where dust was. They came back a 2nd time bc I was not getting any heat from one of the vents. It was like something was lodged the guy from stanley steemer said well its getting colder out maybe that is why its not feeling as warm in this room. I called again to stanley steemer he said he would make it right but after the 2nd call no one would answer my calls. I'm 71 years old and this shouldn't have happened to me from a reputable company. Attached is a picture I had to dig out with my hands from my furnace after I tried to change the filter two days after they left.

This is regarding a duct cleaning service that occurred on March 14th, 2022. I paid $524.45 for this service. In the course of this service, all of my air return grills were damaged beyond repair. The servicemen also tracked mud all over my house and I had to have my floors and carpets cleaned. I contacted the manager regarding this immediately. Then, as the weather warmed up we attempted to use our air conditioner. The unit would not work and we had an HVAC company come look at our unit. The air filter and surrounding areas were completely clogged with dirt which caused the system to ice over and freeze up. The filter was supposed to changed when the ducts were cleaned to prevent this. The HVAC company then had to return a 2nd and 3rd time due to ongoing issues with our a/c. They said that the internal coil was damaged and Freon had leaked out all summer from when our ducts were cleaned. They have pictures of the damage and are willing to issue a statement with evidence that this was done when the ducts were cleaned. Our electric bill has been over $300 all summer, not to mention the cost of the HVAC repairs. I contacted Stanley Steemer and spoke with the manager in Canal Winchester, Ohio. He was extremely rude and yelled at me that because we had waited so long to tell him about the problem that his hands were tied. I told him A) I had called days after the service to complain about the professionalism of his workers and B) It had taken months to identify the issues caused by the duct cleaning. The manager said “send me what you got” and hung up. I sent him a screenshot of my credit card statement for the charge of $524.45 that this cleaning cost me. I want it refunded or I will dispute this charge with my credit card company. I am also willing to contact the Attorney General at this point since my home and utilities sustained damage during this service.

      Hello,

We have a 10 day policy. Customer contacted us 6 months later. Customer was aware and signed after job.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 11/02/2022

I am rejecting this response because: the problem caused by Stanley Steemer  was not identified within 10 days. It took weeks of troubleshooting. The HVAC company eventually had to use dye in our lines to find the leak. This process alone takes more than 10 days. As a business Stanley Steemer should be required to train their serviceman how to do a job properly and to take ownership when they cause damage during that service. All I am asking for is a refund, maybe I should also be asking for Stanley Steemer to pay for the costs of hiring an HVAC company to diagnose the problem with my air conditioning system as well!
