We had a new AC unit installed by Kobella in 2023, and it’s been nothing but problems ever since. Every single year since installation, we’ve had issues with the unit. The first time we called, they said it was a leak but couldn’t find it because it was “too small.” They came back a week later and still couldn’t figure it out.
Fast forward to this year — our AC wasn’t working again. They came out on a Friday, claimed to “fix” it, and then tried to charge us $3,800 for a part we never authorized. We refused, and now just five days later, it’s 85 degrees outside and the AC unit isn’t working again.
Their customer service is horrible. We’ve spent more time and energy chasing them down than actually enjoying the comfort of our home. For a company that claims to offer reliable HVAC services, they’ve completely failed us. Do yourself a favor and go with a company that stands by their work and values their customers — because this is not it.

At Kobella, we take customer concerns seriously and are committed to standing by both our work and our customers. While we understand this has been an ongoing issue, our team has made multiple service calls to diagnose and address the problems as thoroughly as possible. Unfortunately, intermittent leaks and system issues can sometimes be challenging to pinpoint immediately, even with professional-grade tools — though we understand that doesn’t make it any less frustrating on your end.
Regarding the recent service and the part in question, our technicians follow standard protocol to discuss findings and present recommendations. It’s never our intention to move forward without clear communication, and if there was any confusion or miscommunication on that front, we sincerely apologize. Here are the notes from our follow up visit during a leak search in 2023,
"Performed UV leak search to determine source of refrigerant leak in system. Leak search is being performed as a courtesy due to the system having been installed just over a year ago and work performed today with the exception of maintenance is being performed under warranty. Checked outdoor coil and all breeze connections inside the outdoor unit, line set, and indoor coil and connections. No evidence of a leak was noticed. one of the refrigerant lines runs underneath the siding and where the lineset enters the attic, it is difficult to reach due to space constraints, which did not allow for checking that section of the system.
Checked refrigerant levels, levels are still within manufacture, specifications, and unit is operating as designed at this time. Will have to follow up and possibly perform another leak. Search at a later date pending operating status.
Performed air conditioning system preventative maintenance during today’s visit. All electronics are operating as designed. All of their findings are located in the inspection form that is attached. Client is owed one more preventative maintenance visit on the heating system to be performed this fall. Will consider second leak search or alternative options at the completion of that maintenance if concerns haven’t come up before that date."
When we knew there was an issue, it appears we addressed it immediately with you. With manufacturing issues, we have to be able to prove an issue so a warranty can take place, we did not see any evidence of a leak at that initial visit on 9/16/23. We did however mention to you that the leak was small and a follow up test would be needed to locate a leak. Fast forward two and half years later, our technician was able to locate that leak in the coil from the uv dye that was placed in your system. The technician was correct in quoting the labor for replacing that coil without knowing the history and seeing that your labor warranty had expired. After our service manager became aware of the situation we went ahead and honored the warranty knowing the issue was present during the warranty period.

1 starBeware of this company! My elderly mother was having problems with her well water. Kobella came out because she couldn't get ahold of her usual plumber. A few weeks later, I found out that they had installed an extensive high end filtration system in her house. To the tune of $15,000.00. They were all too happy to have my mother (an 80 year old former elementary school teacher with cognitive impairment) sign up for a new loan on the spot to cover the costs. When I called Kobella to find out more and how this could have happened, they said that they sat with my mother for over an hour explaining the system. My response was that that amount of time should have made them aware that she didn't understand what was being installed and why (let alone the costs). When I reviewed the invoice it was staggering...$3,500 for a water heater! Insane!
I called Mike to complain and to see if they could discount the cost seeing that they oversold my geriatric mother on a system she didn't need or could afford. His response was quote "It's not my fault your mother can't pay her bills." Unbelievable!!! I guess financially exploiting the vulnerable in their community part of their business model.Review fromMalcolm F

They are the best company I have ever had and so professional.
I love how they send a picture of which employee is on their way so that I know who they are when they get to my home. Their customer service is incredible. They don't mind questions and take their time to explain everything. You don't have to wait weeks for an appointment as well.
They will be serving my home from now on.

My old, hot water tank started leaking on Labor Day. Yesterday I called Kobella and today Jared came to give me an estimate. The price was higher than expected, but everything is now. I used Kobella in the past to install a new furnace, so I knew the work would be done right. To my delight, Jared was able to install one immediately: he had one in his truck and in an hour I will have hot water. Jared was on time, polite, personable, and easily answered all my questions.
