I bought this Gorilla Tape to patch up holes in my pool. The reason I chose this tape is because of the way it's advertised, which states will hold up in water above or under water, then it also has pictures. I was dumb enough to believe it. I follow the directions on how to use it by cleaning the area first, applying pressure, etc. When I was almost finished all of a sudden i saw the tape I had put down floating on top of the water. I tried to do what i could to fix my pool, now because of Gorilla Glue's negligence, I'm going to have to buy a liner for about $300 or a new pool for over $400. I spent the last of my money for the month on this waste of a product. Now I'm completely broke, have no money for gas or groceries. It was overly hot out, between 92 and 100 degrees, that is why I wanted to get this done so my family could use my pool to cool off, to no avail since it did not work any how. I want my money back. I cannot afford to waste it like it was wasted here especially for them to try to get out of it by saying I APPLIED IT WRONG!!! NO THEY SELL JUNK AND LIE TO PEOPLE WITH FALSE ADVERTISING!Business Response

Hello,
We received communication from the consumer and requested additional details and photos from their application. From the photos, it was shown that the product was not used in accordance with package directions. Information was provided so that the consumer could have a successful seal with a new piece of the tape. While we understand their frustration, it is important to follow all package directions in order to achieve a proper seal. If the consumer has additional application questions, we are happy to assist.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.I did not take any pictures until after the tape failed. Reason is, because I expected the tape to work as pretty much promised in their advertising of the product . The pictures that I did send was AFTER it had rained and winds blowing debris into the pool and around the area. I have seen more complaints from others that this tape does NOT work. If I had known this, I never wouid have trusted Gorilla Glue in the first place . Now I have to end up buying a new pool because this stuff did nit work.

i purchased multiple glue items that are gorilla glue products. four 15g blue cap instant glue. one 10g yellow cap brush & nozzle super glue. one 15g ultra control gel super glue. one 5.5g micro precise super glue. two original glue 2 oz. one 1.75 clear gorilla glue. I purchased these items few years ago. there is nothing mentioned on the product or instructions that there is an expiration date or best by use date or even manufacturing date.. all the glue items that i have hardened and became like rock.. all are still sealed inside their package and never opened. all were stored inside my home in stable livable temperature conditions. I called gorilla glue company and spoke with jodi and jodi told me based on some code printed underneath the bottles that they were made few years ago and therefore they can't do anything for me. i am seeking help from gorilla glue company to replace these items or give me credit or refund to purchase replacement glue items to cover my loss because it is not my fault that there is no warning or instructions on the product that would warn the purchaser to use the glue before a particular date. if this is not settled favorably, i will seek legal counsel to pursue class action lawsuit against gorilla glue company for failure to warn customers that a product expires and becomes useless and unusable after certain time that is unkown to the customer.Business Response

Hello ****,
We appreciate you taking the time
to reach out to us after speaking with one of our agents last week. We understand
your concerns and are happy to provide additional information about the useful
lives of our products.
Most standard adhesives, sealants,
and even paint, won’t last forever. In general, the typical useful life of most
adhesive products is approximately one to two years after opening. If never
opened and stored in a cool, dry place, the useful life is around 18 months to
3 years, depending on the type of adhesive. At The Gorilla Glue Company, we
adhere to strict quality standards and ensure that "fresh" products
are shipped. Since the useful life of a product is dependent on storage
conditions, an expiration date is not listed as it cannot be accurately
predicted once it leaves our manufacturing facility.
Gorilla Super Glue has a useful life
between 12-24 months, even unopened. Cyanoacrylate glues are moisture sensitive,
so storing the glue in a cool, dry place will help to get the full 12-24 months
out of the product. If you are not a frequent Super Glue user, we recommend
trying our smaller 3-gram tubes.
Original Gorilla Glue is a
moisture-activated polyurethane adhesive that has an unopened useful life of 3
years when stored in a cool, dry location. Clear Gorilla Glue is a similar type
of adhesive that can also be activated by moisture and has a 2–3-year useful
life. Both Original Gorilla Glue and Clear Gorilla Glue are available in a
smaller 3-gram Mini tube that comes in 4-packs if you are an infrequent user
but like to have product on hand.If you are not a daily or weekly
glue-user, purchasing in bulk is not recommended due to the useful lives of
adhesive products. We want to ensure that all our consumers have a great experience,
which is why we offer a variety of sizing options for our products. To learn
more about our product selections and sizing options, please visit ****************
We recognize
your frustration and hope that the information the agent provided during your
phone conversation and contained in this correspondence provides a better
understanding of adhesive products and their useful lives.
Sincerely,

Just yesterday, I had written the Gorilla Glue company of an issue with expoxy glue I've used three times and it not drying, as it would normally.
I got a very quick response which I pasted below: I addressed the questions presented to me, the best I was able to recall, as it been months since I purchased said product in question.
However, after answering questions and taking pictures, It was mentioned they were not going to stand behind their product, which failed me on three separate occasions. I've been mixing 2-part paints, primers, Bondo, and assorted glues for over 50 years. This is why I voiced my concern:
This is the last response from the company:
"We do stand behind out products, after reviewing the application, this is outside of the designed to scope of use as the product needs to cure for 24 hours. We would be more than happy to discuss your other applications"
I never really explained any applications to begin with and feel this decision was incorrect at best, and disapointed of their response.
I simply feel I provided the information, as asked for, and pictures, only for their unsubstantiated reason to deny the fact that the product was defective. To stand behind their product, of which a simple replacement of such would have been fine, even though it caused me grief three times.Business Response

Hello *****,
We have received your comments and reviewed your case and are happy to be of further assistance.
When we hear of a reported issue with a product, we do our best to collect information from the packaging and details about the usage and application to get an understanding in order to troubleshoot because we do stand behind our product. Like you mentioned in your correspondence, Epoxy is a 2-part adhesive that requires equal mixing for at least 20 seconds before it will begin to set, meaning the pieces will no longer be able to be shifted. A full cure for Gorilla Epoxy is achieved at 24 hours, at which the adhesive smell will dissipate, and the bond will be fully formed. We understand that you were unable to provide the needed details for proper troubleshooting, as we attempted to gather them several times by email.
You did include a photo showing a partial lot code stamped onto the side of the Epoxy syringe. Without the full lot code, we are unable to determine the age of the product. Gorilla Epoxy has a useful life of 2 years, and if this product is older that could also be a contributing factor.
We are always happy to assist with product and project questions to ensure all applications are completed smoothly. Attached, please find a product information sheet with additional usage and storage details for our Gorilla Epoxy.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.Their response is not exactly true, as I responded and addressed each question to the best of my knowledge, and memory, as I'm a disabled 65-year-old, and cannot remember things that I did months ago.
The product code was partially rubbed off, as I told Ben and took pictures to proof it, sorry it's not to their liking, but the product is sticky when it's on gets on your fingers and using the product back and forth, I guess the numbers or code were rubbed off partially, not printed to stay the test of time.Lastly, not that it's needed, as I don't need, but there was not attachment, that I found in their response.
I feel working with 2-part products/materials for 50 years plus gives me more insight than a stamped code on the side of the product, nor how anyone can stated I used in improperly in any applications, as I never explained what it was used for at all.
Simply, put the product failed, and no one seems to want to stand behind the product, or to remedy the issue, not to mention the troubles it caused from not curing properly.

I used superglue from gorilla and accidentally got some on my person. I called the 800 number on the back that says if you were experiencing skin bonding skin soak to call *********** for a medical emergencies and it’s a line trying to sell your products instead of helping you with your medical emergency. Purchased Gorilla Super Glue (15 grams) from ****** which timely arrived on 10/17/2024.
Although product was in a sealed package, no damage the bottle was less than half full.
Filled out complaint form on Gorilla's website. However customer service reply insulted my intelligence and refused to send replacement or refund.
Instead customer service representative "Christopher" stated in his replies (2 replies) that the bottles are properly filled following "fill lines" on the bottle and packaging.
Despite his claims I was not able to discern any "fill lines" on the packaging and unequivocally can state there are no such lines on the bottle.
Moreover, after his insulting reply in measured the liquid in the bottle, which measurement equally 3.5 grams. Including an estimated amount remaining in the bottle at .75 grams the bottle contained approximately 5 grams total.
10 grams short ot the stated weight on the package.
Customer Service was insulting at best and misrepresenting at minimum.
I'd like a replacement product or refund.Business Response

A response was sent to the consumer explaining how Gorilla Glue fills its bottles. "For high performance and usability, the glue needs to be protected from moisture; therefore, we package our glue in thick plastic bottles. If our thick bottle was sized down so the amount of glue indicated on the label completely filled the bottle, it would be extremely difficult to squeeze the bottle and dispense the product. Our bottle, which has the required thickness to keep moisture out, contains the stated number of grams of glue as labeled and allows the glue to flow, making the product easy to use."
We did receive a picture of the consumers bottle and confirmed that is the proper fill line. Additionally, we have mailed him a new bottle.

Despite what is stated in the reply the business has failed to address rge concerns outlined in my complaint... that the bottle was less than half full.Further, upon weighing the liquid glue it was 5 grams NOT the 15 grams stated on the label.Gorilla keeps stating the bottle was full when one can easily see in the photo that the bottle is quite empty. As such, the business has not relied properly to the complaint nor has business sent a replacement product or issued a refund.

A replacement bottle was mailed on October 29 and should arrive very soon.
Please note, when the new bottle arrives, it will not be filled to the top, which a thorough explanation regarding why a bottle is not filled to the top was previously provided. The amount listed on pack is what is in the bottle.
At The Gorilla Glue Company, we adhere to stringent quality control measures in the filling and weighing process of Super Glue. We are sorry to hear that you are not pleased with this process, and again, a replacement bottle has been mailed.

I had purchased the Gorilla Super Glue bottle with brush and nozzle from ********* last year. I had purchased 3 bottles of different sizes. I partially used one bottle and then had to discard as it hardened.
The other 2 bottles were in original, un-opened package stored in cool dry place as per package direction. The product package doesn't have any expiration or useful life warning / notice.
I opened one of the bottles and it is completely dried up in the package and even the brush broke when I tried to open the bottle. The other bottle in un-opened package is also solid and completely dried up.
I contacted the manufacturer and they stated that the product is supposed to be used between 12-18 months but it does not say anything on the product packaging. On contacting the manufacturer to replace the product - they refused and stated that we cannot do anything as the product is behaving as expected but an average customer doesn't know anything about the useful life on product as it is not mentioned on the product packaging.
I am sure millions of products are sold and customers will throw away the failed product in original package as we tend to not complain about $8-$10.
The manufacturer is taking advantage of customers by not writing product useful life on the package and thus keep selling more products.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below. It is still not clear to me as to why Gorilla Company is not willing to put a warning on the product to alert customers that
the product can be USELESS in the ORIGINAL PACKAGE EVEN IF STORED AS
RECOMMENDED. ADVISE THE CUSTOMER TO HOLD ON TO THE PURCHASE RECEIPT FOR
ATLEAST ONE YEAR OR EIGHTEEN (18) MONTHS - WHATEVER YOUR ORGANIZATION
DETERMINES TO BE USEFUL LIFE.
I
had purchased three (3) bottles of which one (1) I had used partially
and discarded and the other two (2) in original packaging became
useless.
I
would request you to approve sending the same two (2) bottles that
became useless for me and take steps to avoid this kind of incident for
other customers.I haven't received response back from the Business.
Because of the business's practice of not putting the warning of useful/shelf life on the product - I am not sure how many people in United States end up throwing the product out without using it and the business doesn't bother to take action.
Any product that has a useful shelf life with proper storage should have the instructions on the product and Gorilla Products don't have them on their product or product package. How is this acceptable?

The Gorilla Glue Company has sent multiple correspondence, via email and mailed letter, to *** **** addressing his concerns. The initial report to us was on June 3, 2024, in which it was stated that he purchased multiple bottles of Gorilla Super Glue "about more than a year ago from **** *****," and when he recently went to use the glue from some of the bottles they were dried up in the package.
We ship fresh product to our retailers and they are informed how to rotate their inventory to ensure the freshest product is being sold. A consumer can return product to the place of purchase for an exchange or refund. It was explained to *** **** that it is best to purchase only what may be needed in the near future, and we do not suggest buying in multiples as adhesives do not last forever. It was also explained that an expiration date is not put on the package as the useful life of Gorilla Super Glue can vary due to many factors, such as environment, storage conditions, temperature, and humidity. When the glue is exposed to extreme temperatures, moisture, and other elements, the shelf life will be significantly shortened, which is very common for all adhesives.
We consider the matter closed as thorough responses have been provided, as well as two new bottles of Super Glue were mailed to the address *** **** provided. The product has not been returned to us as undeliverable, so we can assume that *** **** received the items.

Within the last four months or so I had bought a bottle of gorilla glue super glue that’s a brush and a nozzle I make hair bows so I was strictly at one point using gorilla glue and then I ended up switching to a different glue this morning, March 26, 2024 I was doing a project and I realized that I had a brand new unopened bottle of gorilla glue in the cupboard with all my crafting supplies so I got it out the bottle would not open so we had to use pliers Then I took the cap off and realize there’s no brush attached to the glue and then I realize that the glue was hard as a rock. I then contacted gorilla glue and asked to be reimbursed or have this item replaced because it was sealed there was absolutely no reason that it was dried up. They sent me a bunch of emails back-and-forth and then I sent them the lot code and they said well the glue was made in 2021. I was not even making bows in 2021 so I would’ve never purchased it then but I tried explaining to the company that , I bought it out of either superstore or ******* and it’s not my fault that it was dried up. It should’ve been on the shelf. I obviously can’t return it because I’ve had it for quite some time nor do I have the receipt but the company basically said screw you we don’t care I think it’s terrible customer service, since I actually had replaced this bottle this morning at superstore Before getting their initial email. Otherwise I would’ve never ever purchased another one of their products and considering I’ve bought numerous bottles of gorilla glue, you think a huge company like this in order to keep a customer would say hey will send you a new bottle of glue since it wasn’t my fault in their emails. Keep saying oh how was it stored after being used and wipe it off, etc. I’m not sure how many times I have to say this was never used. It was sealed in a package this morning when I opened it to find it Missing the brush which is not in the glue and hard as a rock. This is very disappointing for this company.Business Response
