  I have only had great service from Vonderhaars they have installed a new fireplace makes our home look modern, fixed our chimney and 4 years I went to them for our roof their the only ones I trust .. Great Family

  Don’t call them for repairs . I was told by the owner that parts were not available for my fireplace that manufacturer was no longer in business and the entire fireplace needed to be replaced for 12,500 . Thank goodness I called another company . It wasn’t a valve issue after all and the company he pretended to call is in business . Vonderhaar just wants to sell and install new fireplaces . Mine was fixed by the other company I called and it was less than 1,000.

  The unit in question had a gas explosion and the glass broke and customer said there was also bent metal in unit. To the best of my knowledge we never stated the company was not in business as ********** is still operating. Only ****** and ***** brands we tell customers are not made any longer. But possibly said that their specific older unit was not made any longer or we could not get parts for it. We usually do not try to repair builder grade units approaching 20 years old or more as this is when we have found more problems develop and it is wiser to replace instead of dumping more money into repairs. We apologize if this was not clearly explained to customer.

  He told me the problem with my fireplace was due to a faulty valve . Then told me the valve could not be replaced,.and only option was to totally replace fireplace . The other company I contacted knew immediately what the problem was , It was the the glass and gasket .He never told me it could be fixed and started measuring to replace it. I have his report and estimate . He never turned my fireplace on and I also stated that I never smelled gas .

  The owner of Vonderhaar didn't even turn my fireplace on and I told him I did not smell gas at the time of the incident. He told me it was a faulty valve. He had the manual to FP in his hand, got off the phone and said manufacturer was no longer in business and they can't use a different valve. He said half the wall needed to come out and the entire fireplace had to be replaced. He never discussed other options or age of FP . I had another company check it out and they knew right away that there was an issue with the gasket and glass. They replaced gasket and glass, cleaned and inspected and has been working fine. $ ********* saved. I have ************ report and estimate
