      Duke Energy shut off our gas after I made several complaints that they had the wrong meter on our account. No one came to check our meter after moving in and I tried to contact them to update it, someone came out, and it was not fixed. Without notice our gas was shut off and they did not come back in a timely manner to turn it off, even though it was their fault they messed up our account. Im ******.

      I moved into a new home, I tried to transfer services to my new home from my old home and since there is an outstanding balance from the previous tenant,Im now being penalized and cant connect my services because of an investigation. It has been 2 days now and my children and I have been displaced because myself and my landlord has told them that I have no affiliation with the previous tenant, we even sent in my lease stating when I moved in to show proof. When I call in to see about my services, there is little to zero empathy. I have NEVER experienced anything like this. It still says pending even after I sent in my lease. I have food going bad in my refrigerator and they have stated they will not replace it. You guys need to do a better job in being more emphatic to people situations especially ones like mines where there are children involved and to situations to where people are victims of others people carelessness

      Duke states that I am not an authorized user on the account and that my name is not on the bill. I have the bill in hand, my name is on there. I have talked with numerous people, including one person who said that in 2022 names were deleted in the system. Then why not put them back? Why not inform those people? And today I was told my name wasn't on the bill? I have it right here. My name is on the bill. How do your representatives see something different? I have talked with people and asked questions of people at Duke for years, including about a month ago, and now I can't? Just to understand the amount of a bill? Duke needs to do better and needs to respond in the affirmative to have my name as an authorized user. I don't need my hubby to call since we've had this service for nearly 40 years, and I have always had the right to chat with a Duke representative.

      They continuously increase rates while shutting down key power plants in rural areas. My bill has gone from roughly $150/mo in 2021 to $221/mo starting next month because they say I'm using more energy year over year. They say that I can consult an energy use consultant or have an electrician out on my dime to try and find any issues, but will not help with anything on their dime.

      If I can get him zero Stars I would. This company is a complete scam and rip-off to their consumers. My bill went from $200 to $900 and they cannot give me a logical explanation of why they've been all over the news media regarding people complaining about extremely high bills, I spoke with the supervisor regarding getting on budget billing and when she said I didn't qualify for so I asked her. Was there any reason why she can explain why everyone bill was high? And why was people complaining and why they ended up on the news? She said she hasn't heard anything about it. I find it extremely hard to believe. I even asked her to ****** it and she had no response. Somebody really need to look into these people. Times have gotten too hard for people to try to rip off hard-working consumers. They're asking me for $1,000 for one month as if I'm only obligated to pay them when I have a house mortgage, credit card, bills, groceries and everything else. This is ridiculous

      Duke Energy discriminates against senior citizens on Social Security. I asked for a 3 day extension to pay my bill and they said NO!!i live in *********** ****

      Beyond disbelief on what this monopolized company is entitled to do. This place is a joke. Ive canceled these third party riders numerous times. Called and spent hours on the phone with morons who just sit behind a desk and *** anyone who pays their highway robbery monthly. I dont even want my back pay of yearly asking them to cancel charges I did not allow on my bill. I hope this company goes bankrupt for fraud annd corruption and then they experience what theyve done to people over the years. ****, please look into commies like duke energy!

      It's one thing to have egregious bills - but now Duke is saying that they have sent technicians to my home 2x and the "meter is reading fine, we will not replace" - however they have only sent a technician 1x. Additionally, they have told me to go to electric supplier as it's their problem (called - it wasn't their problem.) Then told an electrician had to come out. Paid for that too. When I call back to get answers or updates - I continually am told that they have sent people out and will not be replacing a meter or helping me. Now threatening disconnection if I don't pay the extra $ charged. I have gone from 2000 kWh to 4500 kWh on my meter readings (with gas heat.) It's fraudulent and misleading They are not taking any responsibility or helping. They continue to tell me one thing and log another into their call logs.

      DUKE ENERGY IS HORRIBLE COMPANY! I HAVE PAID MY BILLS IN FULL BEFORE THE DUE DATES, NEVER LATE AND THEN I MOVE INTO A PLACE AND THEY WANT $480 DOLLARS FOR A DEPOSIT TO HAVE IT TURNED ON. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OF 4 AND THEY WANT TO DO PEOPLE THIS WAY WHO HAVE ALWAYS PAID THEIR BILLS ON TIME. I WONT USE THEM ANYMORE. SAD THAT COMPANYS WANT TO CHARGE YOU FOR "THE RESIDENCE ADDRESS "ITSELF.' IN TOWN.... TOO BAD THERE WERENT ZERO STARS.
