Very upset. Was mislead repeatedly during the whole process. They claim that you will get about a third of the cost of the solar back when you do your taxes. What they don't mention is that this is done with nonrefundable tax credits, meaning if you don't owe on your tax return, it is essentially worthless. Was told originally that my cost would only be for the system and not the cost of the energy. Didn't find out until AFTER I got the roof replaced that this was a lie. Very unhappy, and already regretting getting solar. At least the roofer knew what he was doing, and the electrician seemed to be very good at his job. But the sales? The sales people were dishonest.

Hi ****** - we are very sorry you feel this way. We spoke with the two representatives that you have worked with for many, many months now. Neither have heard from you. They are very easy to get ahold of to help answer any questions. Have you already consulted an accountant/CPA (we can direct you to one that is very familiar with solar, if you need assistance)? Our representatives are diligent in letting folks know generalities in regard to the tax credit, but also making it clear that we are NOT CPAs/accountants and cannot give tax advice (we also put it in writing on the proposal and on our website, amongst other areas). We can speak to general situations that we've encountered such as "in general, most of our homeowners who are working do not have an issue obtaining the tax credit." The tax credit also does not have to be obtained all in one year. We have had customers obtain it across a couple of years in some cases. Whenever we hear that someone is not working/retired, that is a red flag for us to shout out that the customer really needs to consult a tax professional. Can you let us know how we can help? If you are working, it would be well worth consulting with an accountant/CPA to figure this out and hopefully find a solution. Again, we have a CPA that can help ****** regard to your other question about the cost of the system versus the cost of the energy, we are a bit confused. You do of course pay for the cost of the system (ownership of it), there are no additional costs for the energy produced by the system. There is seasonality to solar, meaning that Dec/Jan are poor months for sun hours/solar production. The rest of the year is typically quite productive, which is why systems are design with a full year in mind. The annual design works well given that your utility company has net metering. Since you were just installed two weeks ago, we have to give it some time for you to see the impact on our utility bill.That being said, there are a lot of people at TGE Solar who standby to serve you, but no one has heard from you until this post. 5 starsI highly recommend TGE for your solar system purchase and implementation. They were very knowledgeable, very patient with all my questions and changes and delivered on time with a great team that showed up on time, worked in 90+ degrees weather all day and got a very nicely done installation completed in a shorter than anticipated timeline. Overall, from sales to delivery and operation one of the smoothest purchases I made in the last 20+ years. TGE Solar was exceptional in installing our solar panels and followup. We're enjoying the free AC this summer. TGE worked with **** Energy to upgrade our electric service to support solar. We could easily install an EV charger in our garage. Our 18 panels went online in March. We've had no **** electric or gas charges since then, even with AC use in July. Our excess solar is sent back to **** at the same rate and helps reduce our joint electric/gas bill. There are several competing solar services in Cincinnati. We canceled one service due to up-front costs and were glad to find TGE. Curt M***, a solar consultant, was key in helping us find TGE. We highly recommend TGE Solar.TGE Solar, LLC

Paperwork and installation process was great! But, I am a little skeptic that the targeted power generation will be met by the end of the year. Also, My energy bill they used for estimation had no power consumption showing for a month because we were out of country for a month. Wish they had caught this anomaly in my bill during estimation.TGE Solar, LLC

Kam and the team at TGE solar were amazing. When researching solar, I found myself overwhelmed at first. I talked with two other companies before getting connected with Kam at TGE. They really took the time to answer all my questions and explain things in the simplest way. I felt other companies were trying to overcomplicate their models and pricing making it impossible to compare but TGE was fair and transparent. The equipment has worked great and the install went smooth. The team has followed up multiple times to make sure my needs are met and Im understanding the metrics online. Were overproducing beyond aexpectations! Well done team, Id highly recommend TGE to everyone!TGE Solar, LLC

We were kept informed in every step of the journey. The entire crew was knowledgeable, pleasant, and professional. Even after 1 year of having the service installed, they are still checking to see if we have any questions and to make sure that our system is working as expected. The last couple of billing cycles, we've just paid a maintenance fee of around $15 total for electricity and that includes charging EVs, also. It satisfies us to think that we're doing our part for future generations. ********************TGE Solar, LLC

Was told in the beginning that the solar panels will provide enough power to get rid of my electric bill. That is not the case nor does it seem like it will ever be the case. The plan they gave me does not collect enough energy for my house in the summer months. So there for I will always have 2 bills in the summer months. Which is the reason I went with solar to begin with. I will say that Ive only had the panels for about 6 months, so Im hoping over the winter months that this sorts itself out. If that changes and next year I dont have the payment for the panels AND $200 AES bills I may feel differently about this service and company.TGE Solar, LLC

Thank you for reaching out! We have had a few folks notice an uptick this summer in their electrical bills. For customers that have been with us for several years, they have the benefit of comparing prior years. They were able to see that their system produced a similar amount of energy last year, but they consumed a significantly higher amount of energy due to our historically hot summer in this area. I am sure you noticed how the bulk of our June days were in the 90s, while last year they were in the 80s. That makes a huge difference as our A/C units were pumping non stop. When we design someone’s solar panel system, we utilize your historical data, but we of course can’t control the weather. What we can control is that your system produces close to the initial prediction, which it looks on track to do. We are always available to help if you want ideas/help for decreasing your energy consumption to stay closer to your prior 12 months. We would love to know if this explanation makes sense as it is backed by real weather data and also data of hundreds of customers seeing a big uptick in their energy consumption due to our vastly hotter than normal summer. The hotter weather does not increase solar production, unfortunately. Thanks again for reaching out and we will standby to help. We also hope you might reconsider the 1 star review given our lack of control of the weather.
