      Cincinnati Bell Altafiber has a history of creeping up their monthly bills and breaks their written promises.

      This “business” calls me non stop at least once a day. No matter how many times I block one of their numbers they somehow have another one ready. I do not live in Cincinnati and I’ve never even heard of this place I have no idea how they even got my number. Avoid them at all cost. Would post 0 stars if possible

      I closed my business line 10/2022. I had a auto payment set up and found that it was never canceled and have been paying for the last 2 1/2 years. I call AltraFiber and they told me they could not refund the money because it was in a business name yet they took my payment from my personal account. I have contacted a laywer and will be cancelling all of my accounts. How can they take money for an account that was closed. ****** *** CUSTOMER

      I have been a Cincinnati Bell customer since 2002. Recently, my phone service has been experiencing issues, such as no dial tone since September. Over the months, I called customer service, and a representative advised me to unplug the phone from the power source and connector outlet to reset the line. They also sent a signal to my line to reconnect it.
      Eventually, I was told they could no longer service my needs because I had a copper line, and they were switching phone service customers to Altafiber. I held off as long as I could, but once I realized my phone service had been out for over a month, I called again. A representative explained that I would need to switch to Altafiber because they could no longer access my account due to the copper line.
      The representative went over the costs and benefits of switching. My monthly cost would increase from $33 to $58 with fiber. They mentioned that fiber lines would not go out during poweroutages. I mentioned that my current copper line did not go out during outages, but the representative insisted that fiber lines would have same results.
      I expressed my concern since I have small children and need a phone line for emergencies. The representative claimed that fiber lines have features that would be beneficial since the line would remain operational. Reluctantly, I agreed to switch and scheduled a technician appointment.
      The technician was very informative, and I reiterated my concerns about power outages. To my disappointment, he explained that fiber lines rely on electricity, meaning my phone would not work during a power outage. Since I only have a phone line—not internet or cable—I felt deceived by altafiber.
      When I called customer service, I was informed that they offer two battery options: one lasting 8 hours and another lasting 24 hours. I couldn’t believe it! I feel scammed, and I wish I had kept my copper line; at least I knew it would work in case of an emergency.

      Great internet, AWFUL customer service. They have no care for their residential customers. It doesn't matter if you've had service for a month or 10 years, they don't care and will shut you off at the drop of a hat.

      Poor service. We asked about transferring services to a new location. We were told it would be seamless and I voiced questions and concerns. I was lied to. The tech was lazy, damaged brick installing and refused to take the boxes. I was told they could and it was the difference between canceling and transferring. He still refused. I called customer service which was embarrassing for the customer. They wanted me to drive the box from ******* to Cincinnati, OH and behaved as if this was a non-issue. They have techs who live by me that can't pick up?? Then why tell me they could. I was lied to a second time and told they would pick it up. The tech never showed up. I called when I got a bill for $428. Also, they told me they couldn't reuse equipment and then he reused part of it. How can I bring it in when it was used?? They have no idea where the boxes are and they to charge for them when they are in use on the new account. Scam. I cancelled my service and will drive out of state to get proof of what I turned in. It I expect compensation.

      horrible installation in our neighborhood.,,destroyed or lawns while running fiber lines., crossed over existing power lines and was rude, aggressive and insulting when i asked the installer to place line away from my lines- insisted he was going to place the fiber lines when he wanted in a shared easement area. he found ways to insult me for even talking with him. Under no circumstances would I deal with this company.

      My rate went up $15 in November 2024. I contacted the company, and they said the new price would be good for a year and that was the "best promotion available." In December 2025, my rate went up another $15. I again contacted the company and was told the new price would be good for a year and this was the "best promotion available." What a racket. Switching to ******** for $30 less.

      Switched to this service and was told over the phone that the bill was on the 28th of november after setting up services, was promptly hit with a late fee 3 days after the fact, when calling to identify what may of occurred, I was told by a rep who had a crying toddler in the back, that the "bill is legit", as it appears their staff do not have enough understanding of the english language to provide any further explanation. They then proceed to state my bill was on the 19th, which was not verbally presented to me when setting up the account. I am now, paying a late fee, for no reason what so ever and they refuse to remove the charges. Very poor customer service and lack of understanding especially with a new customer who doesn't have any prior history of late. This is a misunderstanding and they refuse to identify outside of their email communication as if everyone watches that like a hawk. all and all, unfortunately, the area is forced to use this company due to lack of competitors, so if anyone wants to service the ******* Ohio area that isn't Altafiber/********, that'd be great!
