    ***** ***

    Pond dug - Sept 21st thru 24th 2020

We were given a $10,000 budget which  $1,000 was given to the original guy that looked at this job and said he couldn’t do anything with that little of money (finders fee).
***** was told from the start that all we have is 3 days to do as much as possible.
As the pond was being excavated and dam was being built he wanted it as close to his wood line as possible. We instructed him that that is going to create a problem (leak) and he didn’t seem to care anything about it. He also wanted the pond to be at a certain elevation, hence the level of the overflow that we installed. If we would’ve filled in his front yard, we would’ve covered up his garden area and trapped water.  He instructed us to put all waste dirt behind the barn. He was supposed to run all of his downspouts from his barn and the barn drain to the pond so that it can get as much water as possible. We had no idea that we were going to cover the outlet of his barn drain if we had known, we would either marked the area and extended the drain at that time. We can’t be responsible for unknowns. We were just doing what the customer wanted.
Our daily work schedule is 7 AM to 4 PM. We worked onsite for 3 1/2 days.  When you have three machines onsite that cost roughly $1,000 a day and include a overflow that doesn’t leave much to work with. I had a guy stay an extra half a day to grade out all that disturb area so that he could plant grass.
He’s text me several times about us coming back to do repair work. I don’t think he understands that I have to charge him for that work. I’m sorry It didn’t work out for him. With a very limited budget it makes it difficult along with unrealistic ambitions. We can only do so much.
