I assisted in moving my friend to Ohio in Feburary 2021. I was the guarantor on her apartment because of financial trouble. Overall, the company was awful to work with. They would wait until they were about to take penalty actions to reach out to me about issues. The office would contact me all upset and rude as if I had been dodging their calls when this was the first I had been hearing about things. When my friend was set to move out, they came to inspect her place and the officer manager told her not to worry about removing some of the temporary tile she had placed in the bathroom and kitchen as she thought they looked nice. On the day of move out (Feb 2023) the keys are surrendered and the office did not offer to look through the apartment with us, just asked for the forwarding address. Then in April 2023 I get another angry call from the office because they are about to send the account to collections because of move out damage. They give me no information and then refuse to give me an itemized list of damages and cost. Then I get the collection via email and request the collections agency to reach out to the office and have them contact me so I can figure this out. FINALLY, on November 27,2023 I get an update from the collectors with the interest I owe, how nice. It is attached to this document that I get to see the breakdown of cost. They cite the charges as: (1) cleanup including the removable tile that she was told to leave and (2) that they had to replace the entire carpet. They took the 650 deposit and charged another 660 for the carpet. I believe they did this to take advantage of the housing crisis and try and regain some of their losses in other areas. I paid the collector to preserve my financial health and that of my family but I still think this business should be repremanded for their actions.

I would like to emphasize that I as the grantor was not notified of the account going to collection until the last minute. They called me on April 4th, 2023 to inform me that they could not get ahold of my sister and that they were sending the bill to collections. The woman was very mad at me as if I had been dodging their nonexistent calls. They charged two months rent at move out for things that they did not make clear during the move out process OR after moveout. The apartments across from the townhouses are barely livable to begin with. They should probably be condemed...
