Just had our winter maintenance checkup. They're here twice a year to make sure things are still going as the should. Our HVAC system was installed by them when the house was built in 2006. We've used them exclusively for maintenance and to fix things as needed. The service people are great to work and very professional. I was charged $560.00 for a Pressure Switch, model number *********, from the replaced pressure switch, that is listed at $38.67, before taxes on the internet. They subtracted $95.00 from the price of the pressure switch as a "Travel Charge Return", which makes no sense, as that $95.00 comes right out of the company profits. Neither the police nor the County Prosecutor say they can't do anything about it. From the $465.00 that they finally charged me, I figure they owe me $330.00. I arrived at this number, by adding $42.00, for the price of the switch plus tax, plus $95.00 for the service call. I wonder how many other customers they have cheated?Hill Air Heating & Air Conditioning

Let us start by sharing significant industry information that is pertinent to comments and our owners, employees and all other HVAC dealers. Following is some critical background information for you. Some people have different views on how companies should operate and price their services and products. Many companies like ours are structured to provide a wide array of full services and parts from the beginning of the relationship and throughout their long-term journey and capabilities. Owners invest in these companies to ensure customers are well cared for from the beginning and throughout the long-term continuation of their quality relationship. Our type of full-service company like ours requires significant investments in facilities, inventories, equipment, retaining and training employees, especially for the high technology requirements of our HVAC products. There is no reasonable way to compare our prices to internet businesses and different business models. They are not structured to provide ongoing follow-up service for years. Like our company. It would be like comparing doctors and staff to discount quick fix medical services and drugs. We are one of those full-service HVAC companies that has invested and will continue to invest in our employees, training, inventory, tools, vehicles, etc. Our 38-year mission has been and will continue to be a company that invests to provide our clients with excellent long-term services and follow up. We are proud our business and employees and have heard from many clients who over our 38-years have felt we charge fair and competitive prices for the high quality full-services we provide.You chose our company, requesting a service call on your gas furnace. We sent a highly skilled service technician in one of our newer fully equipped service trucks to your home to access and diagnose the issue with your gas furnace. ************** determined that the pressure switches were faulty. He explained his findings and the associated repair cost up front. The part was a non-truck stock part which required an additional appointment to make the repair. You approved the repair and the return trip was scheduled for the following day. The technician returned the next day to install the required part. Our trained technician did not just install the part but also performed a thorough safety check of the gas furnace and determined that it was operating properly. As part of our service procedure, we reduced the cost of the repair by the amount you paid for the travel charge. You made your comments comparing our full-service parts costs to buying parts over the internet. We do not buy parts over the internet. We purchase parts from local reputable supply houses. Warranty all service repairs for one- year. If a client has a current middle tier or upper tier service plan with ******** the service repair could be covered for up to 3 years. We can do this because we carefully purchase our parts and we professionally install them and ensure that there arent any additional issues that *** need addressed. As we have explained, it is unreasonable to compare our local full-service businesses to internet purchases. Our service technicians and staff are highly trained by ******* representatives and other company sources. Based on their experience and industry knowledge employees sometimes offer their opinions and professional advice during the comprehensive service we provide clients. The heating and air conditioning industry has become more complex and provides more options. This has allowed for more personal options. The technical aspect is more cut and dry without much room for personal preference. There are many options that do come down to personal preference. These types of new options do not have a right or wrong answer. The new system complexity is good in that it allows more flexibility for tailoring comfort options to each individuals choice or needs. We apologize that you feel you received some incorrect advice. If you desire, please call our office and describe the information you received. We would be glad to review this advice and determine if any corrections or changes are needed. Also, we want to be sure our Technicians are properly trained in all aspects of the new HVAC systems. Once Again, I got too good of service repair from Hill-Air. They are Prompt-polite-clean professionals who really take care of their customer needs. Behind every good company stands a GREAT GROUP OF EMPLOYEES & they have the absolute best in the industry!
