      My central air needed to be replaced. We went without air conditioning for several days in 90 plus degree weather with a heat warning followed by a heat advisory waiting to receive our 401k money. I paid 5450.16 dollars for the unit. And left. The contractor who was to install it was there to pick it up at the same time I paid for it. Soon after I was informed that they didn't have the unit and was told by my contractor that ***** ****** Supply had to have it shipped from another location. In other words I paid this company 5450.16 dollars for a product they didn't have.

      This was a Fenton MO customer. The HVAC contractor (Key's Climate Control) had been hired to install equipment for Mr. *****. Key's requested the customer pay for the equipment over the phone, not in person. At the time of payment our inventory level indicated in stock, unfortunately there was an error in our system, which led to the no stock situation. In stock was a short furnace without a coil cabinet, but we did not have the taller version of the furnace required for this application. The contractor was notified immediately and stated he wouldn't be able to make the shorter furnace work. Promptly we began the transfer of the needed furnace from Lenexa to Fenton. Transfer time would allow for the furnace being available for pickup on Monday.
      It was offered to refund the entire charge, as we did not have the furnace in stock. However, the contractor stated he could wait until Monday to pick it up and install at the home of Mr. ******
      Often in this industry a contractor will have the end user make payment for the equipment prior to installation, which is what happened in this situation. At no time would Style Crest charge for equipment and not either deliver the equipment or provide refund if equipment was not delivered / picked up. Possibly there was miscommunication between the contractor and homeowner. Style Crest is simply the supplier of HVAC equipment in this transaction - and did provide the equipment as ordered by the contractor. It is confirmed the contractor picked up equipment for installation.
