Signed a contract on April 9, 2024 for basement waterproofing that was to be completed within 45 days. August 30th and the work remains incomplete. Was told I needed 2 steel beams due to a crack in the wall, but when crew arrived had to sign another bill for more money because I should have been told I needed 9 beams. Another crew shows up 3 weeks later and didn't have the beams. No contact from the company for 3 more weeks. 5 times I was given a date for installation and the crew didn't show up & when I call to ask I'm told "you weren't on the schedule for today " I was given a new date and this scenario was repeated over and over. Finally get a crew to show up with the beams and was told "we can't install the beams because of the placement of your drain pipes " even though they were the ones that had marked on the basement wall where the beams were going to be installed. I was now told I had to get stablwall. Supervisor called and apologized, says he will come put in stablwall himself. I asked for information on what stablwall is and how to care for it because this was not part of the original contract but I haven't received anything yet.
I asked for a call the day prior to make sure I was on the schedule before I took off work- I didn't get one. He didn't show up and no contact from the company that he wasn't coming. 8/30 I got a knock on the door, and when I showed the worker where the work was going to be done he has to leave because he doesn't have the right tools to finish the job. When I asked for an invoice on how much that is going to cost, nobody has that information for me. It's been months and many missed work shifts and many thousands of dollars and still my basement is high risk for more water getting in. Window wells were just leaned against the house, not installed properly. I've already paid for work that hasn't been done.

I am rejecting this response because:

1- the work on my basement is still not completed.

2- the information on stablwall and how to care for it after installation has not been provided.

3- the invoice/explanation of charges I have requested has not been provided

4- I had to send 2 emails leave 2 voicemails to get an appointment set up to discuss next steps and when we finally get an appointment- the supervisor is a no call no show.  When I contacted the office at my appointment time I was simply told "he is unavailable"

My wife and I purchased a home in 2016. We shortly after hired a waterproofing company that was supposed to add beams and push walls as well as waterproof inside and out. It was a long lengthy procedure which ended up in building court and more. My wife opened a claim with you in the past regarding this. Recently we had to have them out again to repair the work they repaired 4 times before. We kicked the first crew off the sight for causing my wife a nervous break down and smoking weed on the job and the second crew the next day broke our property and abandoned the site without telling anyone among other things. Including stealing our sump pump we had installed and the one that was supposed to go in. Which is now taken by them. Its a mess We need help and have entire ****** drive based on this.

I hired Everdry Waterproofing of Columbus to do their interior/exterior water proofing service on my cellar over a year ago and they still have not completed the work. Initially it was because they said the gas lines had to be marked, which I was told I would have to have done. This, I learned, was not true. After that, I had difficulty securing a date; they were unavailable, or they scheduled a date I was not at home. In this time the weather had begun to turn and I reckoned it would have to wait until the spring. Earlier this year, I tried several times to get a response from Everdry to come and finish the work (The east and south exterior walls still had to be done. The interior lining also didn't look quite as it had been described, and I wanted them to inspect that, also.) It was only after saying that if no one contacted me I would have to 'put things on a more official level' that I could get a response. However, setting a date was difficult because, again, Everdry would schedule for a day I was not at home, or leave a message, usually the evening before, that they were coming the next morning! We finally set a day in April of this year and only part of the work was done to the eastern side. Before the workmen left, they wanted me to sign-off on the work, but I refused siting how long it took after the last time (Last time I signed what they called a Follow-up page for the work that couldn't complete at that time and would have to come back to complete.) I also thought I smelt marijuana from their truck. Again, there was the game of 'telephone-tag' and 'the gas lines have to be marked', and waiting for a response. I believe my last contact with them was in that month, the gas lines have long since been re-marked (now faded), and I have still not heard from Everdry!

On 11/20/24 Everdry Waterproofing completed the services needed. Per the consumers request Everdry cove sealed the patio with concrete and removed all the smaller chunks after cutting his sidewalk. The consumer requested that we leave the larger chunks because he would like to keep them.

I am filing this complaint against EverDry Waterproofing of Columbus, because they have not completed the project to my satisfaction. The falsehoods started with the salesman's pitch. They would use their "exclusive" JacVac Dust Suppression System when they removed the concrete around the inside of the basement walls. The work commenced on June 10th, and the ******* had no idea what that system was. Therefore, my basement, ceiling, walls, cabinets, shelving and everything stored on them is covered with concrete dust. I did clean an area so we could use our washer and dryer, but the rest of the basement is unusable until it is cleaned. The Production Manager finally came on June 27th to observe all the problems. A list was made and promises made to repair/fix the problem areas and to complete the whole job to my *************** work was completed in July, but that's another whole story!!I was sent a text from them on July 31st, stating that a crew would be here on August 1st, between 11 AM and 1 PM. They finally showed up at 3:18 PM. They worked on 2 items from the list, completing 1 of them. the crew left at 4:55 PM for a total work time of 1 hour and 37 minutes. I went to the basement after they left and found that some of that work time was used to drink a beer and a diet soda, taken from our refrigerator in the basement!I would not recommend EverDry of Columbus to anyone. Once they get their money ($20,000), customer service is non-existent and you are left with a mess! The management personnel are never available and do not return ************** action is my next step!

    Complaint: 22167350

I am rejecting this response because: On Aug.21st, the Production Manager set an appointment, for Sept. 5th, to rectify the problems discussed. No one showed by 10:30 AM, so I called to see what was going on. The Manager admitted that he "dropped the ball" on scheduling the appointment. He would pull a crew together and get them here on the 6th. The crew ******* called at 8:40 AM and said that they were sent to the wrong address (35 miles from my home), so they would be another hour!! They did add river rock to the landscaping, but put it over the dirt/rock mix, without using landscape fabric. No window well covers were brought or landscape edging straightened. They left for another job after 2 hours. The ******* told me that he would get pictures and a list of work, yet to be done, to the Production Manager, and that he would be getting in touch, to set up another scheduled appointment, to complete the job. As of now, I haven't heard anything!!!!

Everdry of Columbus finally sent a cleaning company to my home on Sept. 6th. They returned on the 19th, to complete the cleaning. Wasn't as clean as before Everdry started the job, but I can live with it. Finally received a text from Everdry on Oct. 8th, to contact them. Called and left message. Called again on the 9th and got to speak with the Production Manager. Went over AGAIN, the remaining items on the "to do list," and he stated that he would write up a new work sheet and get it scheduled ASAP! Haven't heard anything since then!!

Everdry Waterproofing of Columbus has heard from the customer and we will be out to complete the work on Thursday 11/21/24. The service work that was agreed upon is replacing a sump pump, cleaning tar off of the brick, removing concrete from the sidewalk, installing an EZ Breathe Window Well as well as cleaning the glass block windows and bringing top soil to help with the regrading.

    Complaint: 22167350

I am rejecting this response because:

The Crew did show up on 11/21/24. They replaced the sump pump and cleaned the tar from a window. I had already removed the concrete from sidewalks myself. They brought no window well covers, so made a trip to *****. They bought bubble type covers, which didn't fit properly, and broke the first one that they tried to install. The remaining ones were just laid against the brick walls and some rocks piled on the lips to hold in place.

My request, all along, has been that they remove all the river rock landscaping, replace the soil and tamp down to grade as it was, straighten and level the edging, then cover with landscape fabric and reinstall the river rock. The ******* told me that that couldn't be done on that day. I told him they could wait until Spring, BUT, I needed a letter or email from the Production Manager stating what was left to be done at that time. He noted all of my requests, took my email address, again, and said I would be hearing from the Production Manager soon.  STILL WAITING!!!!

April 2022, EverDry installed a waterproofing system along the ******************* perimeter of our basement of our home. The crew broke several items while on the property without informing us of any of it. Since then, it has been an extremely stressful situation trying to communicate with EverDry, get them to pay for damages, & complete the initial job according to our original contract. We've been bribed & threatened throughout this process. In Nov. of 2023, we received a letter from the EverDry Production Manager, *******************, stating that we weren't communicating w/ their financial ****** which was untrue, & that they intended to take legal action against us. I responded stating several dates that we did communicate with them & the pending status of waiting for EverDry to come out & redo the job after an assessment by their supervisor, ****, on 10.2.23. **** came out to close the job & have us sign off to begin our loan process during that visit. Instead, he saw problems that we were still having & determined that the job was done incorrectly, the pending items didn't matter because they were going to redo everything. After this email was sent, I did not receive any other communication from EverDry until 2.21.24 when ************** sent an email stating that we had an outstanding balance. I responded immediately. On 2.22.2024 **** stated that they wished for us to sign a completion form in order to begin payments after the job was completed satisfactorily. We agreed to this as long as the payment plan remained in effect. ************** agreed. **** forward to May, before we even had the job scheduled, we received a billing notice from ***************** stating that our payment was due before EverDry had been back to our property to complete the job. Since June, **** has been ignoring any communication that I have attempted to resolve the issue. I want EverDry to stop this current loan, we'll then sign the letter of completion, and then have them start the payment process.

In regards to Ms ****** and the loan, there is nothing our company could do to stop a bank from receiving its payment for a loan that was taken out back in 22. The work has been completed multiple times so there is payment due for all those hours and a safe dry home and structural sound that she has been enjoying for free.  She is required to pay the bank due to us redoing the job and her signing it was complete to satisfaction which was submitted and approved by her and the bank.

in regards to left over work to be performed. All that is left is to grind down a few pieces of hardscape and thats the last outstanding service at this current time. We have been trying to accommodate said repair but she has not been responding to our calls or text. The one time she did answer she said no I need more heads up. I offered on multiple messages to come out any time and day from Monday-Saturday to accommodate.

    Complaint: 22120600

I am rejecting this response because:
As stated in the emails, **** contacted us on 10/29/24 requesting to visit the property the following day to inspect the damage to the stone on the half-wall. We granted him permission to visit while we were not at home on 10/30/24. He texted me on 10/30/24 to inquire about our thoughts regarding trying to sand/grind the stone down in an attempt to remove the engraving from their employee defacing our property. I told him that we were ok with it at that time but they would have to do the entire cap to make sure it looked right and if it didn't, then the entire stone cap would have to be replaced. He agreed. Nothing further was scheduled at this time. I inquired again about the pending loan status with **** via text message on 10/30/24 (I had already spoken to him about it during our phone conversation on 10/29/24 when he asked me to send him photos of the damage and to see about what else they could do to finish the job but had not heard back from him yet.) He responded that "yes he did say he called and told them not to start it". Confused, I replied, "The loan was already started it had to be stopped" He then replied, "I meant stop not start I'm sorry he did call and say to stop it" I replied, "oh ok. Thanks." This is the last that I have heard from ****.
Monday, November 26, 2024 at 3:16 pm: I receive a text message from the EverDry number ************ from Faith. She was contacting me to see what day that week would work, Tuesday, the 27th (the very next day) or Wednesday, the 28th, (the day before Thanksgiving). I responded via text message, "No, I need more of a heads up to be available. We have to work." I received a reply from the same number on Tuesday, November 26, "What day would work for you?" I did not reply until 12/2/24 as my husband and I decided that it would be in our best interest to seek professional masonry advice before proceeding with any sanding/grinding work on the stone cap.
12/2/24 at 8:31 am: I receive a text from ************ with a message from ****** from EverDry Waterproofing" (I have not had any prior correspondence or knowledge of any ***** with EverDry prior to this text message.) He was inquiring about getting in touch with us regarding the "hardscape grinding" stating that he would be available all week and Saturday to provide the service. (Again, not taking into account my husband and my work schedule and the notification that is needed to be provided to our supervisors in order for us to call-off work for this matter.) I replied, " I'm sorry for the delay in responding, but I was consulting with a local ***** to determine the best route to handle this issue. I don't want to move forward haphazardly and ruin the stone anymore than the damage that has already been done. The ***** has taken a look at the site and said that it's going to be really hard to grind that our with as deep as it is and to keep the wall level and smooth. He recommends replacing the stone. He is working on getting me a quote and I can send that over to you guys to cover the costs." I did not receive a reply from this number. I also sent this same message to the text feed from Faith and I also emailed it to **** ***** as shown in the attachments.
12/2/24: When taking measurements for the masonry professional, I noticed that the stone wall had been tampered with in addition to the damaged already reported to EverDry. There is clear evidence (as shown in the supplied photos in the attached emails) that an attempt was made to sand/grind down the engraved letters in the stone cap without our permission. It appears that a representative from EverDry trespassed on our property between the dates of 10/31/24 and 12/1/24 in an attempt to remedy the situation on their own terms.

I received a couple emails from **** and ***** which are included in the attachments regarding these issues stated above. I have replied to each email. (shown in attachments)
The business' remarks to the BBB about how they are handling the situation with us are misleading and portray a false rhetoric.

    Regards,

    Regards,

    ***** ******

I have additional screenshots, copies of emails, and photos but this source would not accept their size to include all supporting evidence with this response.

Yes, mostly correct, except that we dont need to sign a new loan. EverDry initiated the loan prematurely and are stating that we signed an approval of completion after the job was ****** in July, this is incorrect. We did not sign anything at that time.

As discussed before the loan cannot be stopped because the funds for the work were over two years delinquent. The job has been re done twice. Repairing a consumers Credit Report is outside of Everdry Waterproofings scope of work. Neither of those issues are within the BBBs Dispute Resolution Services as well. All that Everdry is waiting for is how the consumer would like to proceed with repairing the stone cap. Everdry remains ready and willing to rectify any remaining issues that are in our scope of work.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 12/27/2024

As previously stated and shown proof of conversations with EverDry's **** *****, the loan is not delinquent as we had not entered into a warranty period. It was agreed by both parties that the loan would not begin until the work was completed correctly as agreed and we would sign off on it when the job was completed in June 2024. We never signed anything in June 2024 and still haven't to this day. We were told that the loan would be stopped multiple times by EverDry, now ***** from EverDry, whom we have not dealt with before this fall, is saying that they can't do that for a reason that we were already told by ***************** (the company holding the loan) that it could. ***** has been caught in a lie about our property before and these actions seem to be consistent with the reputation of the company. All of this information has been communicated to EverDry management via email and voice messages by Mrs. ***************************************** has been unresponsive to any email or voice messages left by Mrs. ****** on office lines as well as their cell phones.

The loan needs to be stopped immediately and EverDry will have our approval to reinstate the loan once they have remedied the defacing of our property by one of their workers.

EverDry has since trespassed on our property and attempted to rectify the damages on their own terms without our approval.

At this time, we are still waiting on a quote from a masonry contractor about replacing the damaged cap on our exterior patio wall.

EverDry Waterproofing has performed necessary repairs since the original installation was completed.  Further, in an effort to appease Mr. *******, our company has performed work outside the scope of the contract signed by Mr. ******* and paid nearly $4,200 to replace a water line that was “corroded.”  This was NOT the result of any action on the part of our company.  However, in an effort to resolve this matter, our Quality Assurance Manager and Production Manager will reach out to Mr. ******* to schedule an inspection and discuss possible resolution of this claim.

5.31.2024, KG received call from ***** *******. He stated that he does not want EverDry Waterproofing back on his property. He stated that the business has not finished work on contract. ***** mentioned the business's way of wanted to do work in incorrect and the business has failed to correctly complete work as outlined in contract and in Feb 2024 walked off the job and he has not heard from them since. ***** said the foundation wall is currently exposed and he had to hire another company (who is at his property today) to correct the problem. ***** does not feel the work done to date by EverDry has any value and if matter moves forward to arbitration he wants amount paid to company to date which is $21,972.00 plus amount out of pocket for repairs currently being done by another contract. KG shared BBB Arbitration caps out of pocket expenses at $3,500.00 ***** said the repairs may be around $6,00.00 as 3rd party company still working on repairs. ***** will update BBB on status of complaint within the next 10 days.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 05/31/2024

I am rejecting this response because: The statements in their response are false, the original installation according to the contract has never been completed and is still not complete to this day. The statement they made about going beyond the scope of the contract to fix a water line that was corroded and was no fault of their own is absolutely absurd, the line they fixed was my main sewer drain not a water line, the sewer line is schedule 40 pvc and everything I have read about schedule 40 pvc is that it is immune to corrosion and should last a minimum of 100 years. My house is only 25 years old and the hole that was in my sewer line was most likely created when they were using a pick axe in that area to break up the soil for digging. I am willing to let them contact me to discuss a resolution.

A company representative met with Mr. and Mrs. ******* earlier today.  An agreement was reached that EverDry will not return to the property to ever perform additional work and a financial settlement was reached.  The customers have been advised it will take several weeks to receive payment.  The *******s may present additional claimed damages in the future, and EverDry has agreed to review them for reasonableness and necessity but did not promise to pay them simply because they are presented.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 06/26/2024

I am rejecting this response because: While I agree we have reached a settlement for the work that was left unfinished by Everdry, until payment has been received I do not consider this matter closed. In addition it was agreed that work from the original contract that is still not completed will be reviewed by Everdry upon receipt of estimates to complete the unfinished work. Once Everdry has reviewed the estimates and contact me with an agreed upon financial settlement and payment from that settlement has been received, then I will consider this matter closed.

As I expected we have not received payment from that low life disreputable company called Everdry Waterproofing. I am of mind to rescind the mediation agreement and sue for all of my money back as I am in the process of trying to clean up the mess they left at my home and it is going to cost me a lot more money than I am getting back from them. This company does not honor their agreement with their customers, they don't even honor their agreement with you the BBB who gave them accreditation. It is a shame that people rely on the BBB accreditation to hire reputable companies, I will not make that mistake again. please let me know what if anything is going to be done about this.

I had Basement repair work done on 4/30 - 5/1. The job was quoted to me as a 4 day job. But, the crew ended up staying 2.5 hours late to complete early. I have since found out that they get a bonus for getting done in 3 days. During this overtime, that no one checked with me if it was ok, damage was done to my house and driveway. This is also when they addressed the "area of concern" that I had. The work here was obviously rushed and the plastic liner they put up is falling off my house! How is this going to keep my basement dry? Furthermore, there was damage done to my wall and the basement concrete work was not finished. Initially, they told me it would be 3 weeks for anyone to come out. After pressuring them a supervising foreman came out on Thursday and confirmed the damage, that a crew would come out Friday after noon, and that they would pay for the driveway to be powerwashed and resealed. Powerwashing was a requirement of *********, the company I contacted to do the work. He said I have to pay first and get reimbursed. He never gave me a point of contact or an email to be reimbursed. Why do I have to pay at all? No one came out Friday. I received a text at *** that they were 1.5 hours from finishing the other job. That was the end of the day so I said to have his boss call me. He never did. No one today has returned my calls. I did have a heated exchange with the sales rep but nothing has been confirmed.
    I have pictures and texts.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/20/2024

The repairs cited in Mr. *******’s complaint have been completed and the invoices incurred for power washing and resealing services for the driveway have been paid by our company with no out-of-pocket expense incurred by our customer.  It is unfortunate that the resulting damages occurred but we have acknowledged responsibility for them and have paid them in full.  We remain ready to provide any future repairs should the need arise pursuant to the applicable warranty.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 05/29/2024

They have mostly taken care of the problems.  The remaining issues are covered by their warranty, which I hope to never use.  I never want to talk to them again and I still do not recommend them.  I accept the business's response to resolve this complaint.

Hey, *****, this is *** *******, returning your call about the complaint I made on EverDry waterproofing. Yes, they did, though they were not great about it, they did make it out here on the tent, and they did do some work. They are not done, they are supposed to come back out, because we found another problem when the guys were out here. So they're supposed to come back out yet again. This will be like the fifth or maybe sixth time I've lost count that they've had to come back out. They're gonna do more sealing to try to stop the water. We had the first rainstorm since it stopped raining when I had my leak back in April. And we had a rain here a couple of weeks ago and what happened? I had a leak. And then when I called them, they really couldn't care less that I had a problem. Oh, we'll get a guy out to you in a couple of weeks until I got mad at him, and then they got somebody out in a few days. And so we'll see where it goes from here. I guess I would say the work is getting done, but you know are we actually working to stop the water or or what you know I just don't feel you know every time somebody comes out here to examine the stuff it's a different guy or kid you know there's no consistency and I have no faith so you know it's still an outstanding problem until I get another rain and find out if they have actually mitigated the water you know With everything that happened, I spent almost $40 ,000 having to put new drywall, new paint, and new carpeting in my basement, and then it gets wet the very first time it rains. So I'm absolutely not happy with them. I'm not impressed with them. Nobody has followed up with me in any way, shape, or form. So they're still in my doghouse. If you want to contact me again, you know, I have my phone on me. I apologize for not being able to get to you guys before this. I'm in a busy season for me right now. But I'll do my best. And I do have my phone on me. I do have my ringer on. So if you call back, I will be able to pick up. All right, thank you very much. Thank you guys for what you do very, very much. and we'll be talking to you. Bye-bye.

We contracted with Everdry on February 6, 2024 to waterproof our basement with their multi step system. The job began on March 11. Nothing was mentioned ahead of time about moving our water heater. When they started, they mentioned they could not put the Durashield product behind the water heater and could not trench without the water heater being moved not having any prior notice we did not have a plumber scheduled to do this, so they left that area, not covered and not trenched the brochure shows Durashield going from floor to ceiling on all unfinished basement walls are door shield only goes up about halfway. They completed the job in two days since the completion of the project we have now had water in our basement three times the side of the basement that continues to get wet does not look much better than before the job is done , we have to use a fan to dry the floor. It takes approximately 24 hours to complete. They did come to try to fix that side once but it really did not help. It’s not just stamp we have standing water moisture also comes up through the cracks in the basement floor the brochure states that all floor cracks would be repaired they were not! We called to let them know that we had a plumber lined up to remove the water heater so they could complete the project. They told us it would be the second week in July before they could get us. We are closing on the sale of our home on May 31 we had this job done to increase the value of our home. I feel we are being penalized because we didn’t have the water heater moved. I feel that’s poor customer service to put our job repair off in order to continue to schedule new work. This is not the job or the experience that we expected.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/17/2024

The customer was advised that the hot water tank would need to be disconnected and moved away from the subject wall.  When our crew arrived to perform the necessary work on April 10, 2024, the tank had not been moved, thus the work could not be performed at that time.  The homeowners acknowledged at that time that a subsequent service date would be necessary.  Due to an unusually wet spring and our company’s busy season, the follow-up work had to be scheduled in July 2024.  The delay was not due to our company performing new work or as a punishment for not having the hot water tank disconnected.  It was necessitated by a particularly busy schedule for our company.

Despite this, based upon the looming deadline for the sale of their home, our Production Manager has left a voicemail message for the customer earlier today at approximately 8:35 am to discuss possible work dates prior to May 31, 2024.  This necessitated our company rescheduling several other projects in an effort help our customer.  We are awaiting response from the homeowners.

EverDry Waterproofing installed a waterproofing system in this customer’s home in August 2023.  At that time, the homeowner indicated she was satisfied with the work and the subsequent clean-up.  Our company returned to her home in September 2023 to correct a minor problem with the alarm system on the battery back-up unit for the sump pump.  Since that time, our company has received no contact from the complainant about any outstanding issues until the filing of this Complaint.  The subject warranty remains in full force and effect and our company will reach out to her and schedule an inspection to address her concerns.

We hired Everdry Columbus to complete waterproofing and foundation repair in the basement of our home. The project was supposed to be completed in November 2023. Everdry’s first crew did a sloppy job that cut corners in multiple ways and ultimately failed to fix either our foundation or water intrusion problems.

Now 5 months later, we have called Everdry back out to our home numerous times after already paying them a significant amount of money (over $30,000). Since the start of this project, Everdry has repeatedly not scheduled a sufficient amount of days, not sent enough workers, and/or not sent the correct supplies. Each time, this has caused us to cancel, reschedule, and extend the project beyond what was originally promised. Each time, the work done has not been sufficient to fully address our foundation and water intrusion issues.

Currently, Everdry is in the process of completely redoing their original botched job and, midway into this 4-day follow up project, has once again cancelled and rescheduled a large portion of their work. Each time this happens we as the homeowners need to adjust our work schedules and personal lives to accommodate Everdry’s ongoing delays. As a result of Everdry’s failure to complete the work they’ve been paid to do, we have now lost the use and enjoyment of a large portion of our home for nearly half a year. We’ve never been so frustrated and disappointed with a company. Also, we recently found that our local NBC4 did a story in 2023 on customers who have made similar complaints about the poor quality of Everdry’s work. Business Response

    Date: 05/02/2024

Follow-up service for this customer began on April 25, 2024 and is ongoing as of the filing of this response.  Additionally, the customer has alleged that our company damaged either their water meter, primary water line or both (an allegation that we categorically deny and the recent repairs reveal no water in that area of the foundation).  Despite this, we have agreed to have the City of Columbus come to the subject property and perform an inspection of these systems, and if damage is found, we will reimburse the homeowner for the subject repairs.  The earliest the City of Columbus can come to the property is May 8, 2024, at which time the inspection shall be performed.  Additionally, as a good-faith attempt to satisfy our customer, EverDry has agreed to warrant steel beams previously installed in the home by another company, a gesture that is neither owed by us nor has been paid for by the owners.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 05/02/2024

We reject Everdry’s response for the following reasons. As the homeowners, we are not experts in how to resolve water intrusion or foundation issues. In hiring Everdry, we relied on their expertise to accomplish these goals. Unfortunately, Everdry’s initial work failed to fix either the foundation or water intrusion issues in our basement. Indeed, Everdry’s staff have since pointed out numerous examples of their own company protocol not being followed in our home’s initial repair work.

During a 4/4/24 follow-up assessment (the latest of several), Everdry’s representative confirmed that additional work was needed in the basement corner where the water meter is located to abate water intrusion and stabilize the foundation, and he confirmed that moving/replacing the water meter was a necessary component of this work. Everdry should have included the water meter repair in their original plan and was negligent in not doing so. That being said, we are happy that Everdry is now including the water meter as part of their foundation repair solution (albeit 6 months late).

For reference, I am including pictures from 4/2/24 where water is seeping through the wall in the area immediately surrounding the water meter. Obviously, Everdry’s initial work failed to fix what we hired them to fix. We emphasize that Everdry is not doing us an extra favor (as they seem to contend) by now completing a component of their work that should have been done as part of their initial plan.

Regarding the steel support beams on the walls, Everdry needed to remove and reposition our existing beams as part of their ongoing redo of the interior drainage system. Since Everdry is the party who has now re-secured the beams in place, their including the beams in the warranty is not an extra “gesture of good faith” but rather the bare minimum that one should expect any reputable company to do.

We appreciate Everdry’s ongoing efforts to now complete the job that was scheduled to be completed in November 2023. However, the length of time it took for this to happen was both unreasonable and highly burdensome to us.

Due to Everdry’s repeated and unnecessary delays, we have sacrificed the use and enjoyment of our basement—a living space that makes up approximately half our home—for nearly six months. Furthermore, Everdry’s negligence in not properly and fully completing the job the first time around has led to numerous subsequent visits to completely redo our interior drainage system and re-excavate around the exterior of our home. These invasive projects in our home have required us to significantly rearrange our work schedules and personal lives to accommodate additional and repeated work that should not have been necessary.

As a result of the hardship we have faced due to Everdry’s negligence, we will be submitting a request for additional compensation to Everdry following their satisfactory completion of the current job. We request that this complaint remain open until further notice.
