I have placed 2 separate phone orders with Valley Hatchery. I chose this hatchery because of the support and wide variety of info for chicken owners before and after purchase. My first shipment of 20 chicks arrived 4 days ago. I ordered 5 Rhode Island Reds, 6 Black Australorps, 6 Plymouth Barred Rocks, and 4 Black and Gold Laced Wyandottes, including one rooster, that we've name Little Jefe. I received 3 extra chicks, a lovely surprise! They all seem quite clean and healthy, packaged in a well-ventilated box with bedding and a couple food pellets to **** at. They look well-formed, eating and drinking well. The surprising thing is the zoomies! It has been entertaining to watch them right from the start, as they run halfway across the brooder, stepping on anyone in their path. I don't see any bullying or pecking at each other at all. Thanks, Valley Hatchery, for being so easy to deal with as I asked questions during my phone order, and then thanks for so much info to make us feel prepared for the exciting day when our chicks arrived. First time customer of **********************. Have received birds from other hatcheries, big and small. These chicks were 100% survivors and were all very active and alert when received. No pasty ****. Valley added a few extra chicks too!!! **** delivered early on day 2 despite zero shipment updates- but they got the job done. Valley team members have been ultra responsive and helpful. I would highly recommend Valley based on my personal experience with them. I was nervous to order from a hatchery as I have heard many horror stories about chicks arriving dead but I liked what I saw from Valley Hatchery and they had the breeds I had been struggling to find. I was not disappointed! Ive had two orders from them resulting in around 50+ chicks total. The second order arrived with all incredibly healthy babies who are doing so well and such a joy. They even threw in extras. The first order had a few deaths but I attribute that more to the handling of the package and not Valley Hatcherys fault. Even though it was not their fault, they FULLY REIMBURSED me for the chicks that passed. When Im stressed or worried about the chicks or just have any questions, their customer service is so helpful and always kind. I cannot say enough good things about Valley Hatchery. I have two more orders scheduled from them and I will be a customer for life!Valley Hatchery, LLC

We received our chicks today. We ordered 5 and were sent 7. All were alive and took to eating and drinking almost immediately. These chicks are very active and healthy. Valley Hatchery is great to work this. This is our second time ordering from them since we decided to get chickens 2 years ago. We still have 8 from our original flock of 10, which are now 2 years old and healthy. We paid extra for vaccinations and ensuring they were females. Our first round was all females, Im confident these will be too, but would not be sad if we had a surprise rooster. Would definitely order from Valley Hatchery when we decide to grow our flock in the future.Valley Hatchery, LLC

Valley Hatchery are wonderful and a pleasure to do business with. At first I was a little apprehensive about the idea getting my chicks via mail order, wondering how they could possibly survive the trip. But I wanted Silkies and couldn't get them at the local feed store. I browsed Valley Hatchery's offers and ordered Silkie straight run three each in splash, blue and black, and in a separate order I ordered a pair of Fawn Runner Ducks and one Khaki ********. All chicks made it to my local post office alive and peepin'. They even sent one extra Silkie chick per color. Now two weeks later they're still alive, happy and growing fast! The whole process from order, confirmation to mailing and receiving was straight forward and I also love the resources provided on the website on how to give them the best start possible. I followed all steps and couldn't be happier. In a few more weeks they will be ready to be released from the brooder into their coop, that we have built, complete with large dog and predator proof enclosure. Thank you so much, Valley Hatchery. Birds arrived health and died consecutively everyday for two weeks. Contacted hatchery and they refuse to send healthy birds or refund me the $170 I spent on them. **************** and management was rude and basically said we killed the birds. As you mentioned in your review, the birds arrived healthy. No concerns were reported until nearly a month laterwell beyond our guarantee window. When we asked for photos to help assess, the request was refused. Our birds are health-monitored and guaranteed to arrive alive, but we cannot control care after delivery. Order a total of 18 chicks in which 6 were refunded due to a shortage. On arrival 5 of the 12 sent were dead and the remains 7 were wobbly. I tried to keep them alive for the next couple of days, but the chicks kept slowly dropping dead. I contacted the seller and informed them and requested either a refund or more chicks but they pretty much informed me that the window for any refunds or anything was only 24 hours. Something was seriously wrong with their chicks! Ive never had this problem before and the chicks were indoors out of the elements where we keep them until theyre big enough to survive. I will never buy from this place ever again and I do not recommend anyone else to buy from them either!Valley Hatchery, LLC

Were sorry to hear about your experience. Our Live Arrival Guarantee, which is clearly stated at checkout and on our website, requires any losses to be reported within 24 hours of delivery for a refund or claim. In this case, your order arrived on 4/16, and the first contact we received was on 4/19, outside of the guarantee window. Despite that, we still offered to review your situation and assist if possible, but we did not receive the additional information we requested. I ordered 30 baby chicks from this company. They cancelled a portion due to shortage with no other explanation. They did not give me a tracking number to track the chicks. The USPS called me one day and said they had my chicks in but they told me it sounded like only one chick was alive. I went to the post office within 1/2 hour of the call and picked up the box of chicks. I drove directly home and could only hear 1 chick chirping. I opened the box and found 3 chicks alive. One couldn’t stand anymore, one was wobbly and 1 was ok. I called the company right away, took pics of the live chicks and dead chicks as they requested. We did find one more chick under dead chicks and it survived a few hours. I asked for a refund for all but 3 chicks. They eventually sent me notice after back and force emails that they would credit my card back. The chicks were 5.79 each. Shots and shipping divided by the amount of chicks received should have been 2.13 per chick. They are now charging me 78.97 for the 3 chicks. I am being charged for the shipping and 27 shots for dead chicks on arrival. I have never written a complaint on any company before but this was an awful experience for me and the seven and 8 year olds with me and then to be charged for the shots and shipping of dead chicks is over the top. They charged me 49.00 for shipping and 15.00 for merek shots for the dead chicks I received.Valley Hatchery, LLC

Unfortunately, **** has faced challenges this year that are outside of our control. As explained during checkout, shipping and vaccination costs are not refundable when partial losses occur. We promptly processed your claim, refunded for all lost poultry per our Live Arrival Guarantee, and followed the same clear and fair policies provided to all customers.
