My 2019 kia ******** was making engine noises my dealership said it was covered under warranty and sent me to Junes auto for repairs. When I made contact with ****** (*****) I told them I had a warranty and was sent to them for repairs They did repairs, did not contact warranty company or ask for a copy of my warranty when I dropped off car, they had me drop car off and put keys in a drop slot and contacted me later to say a new engine was needed and the two engines that could be done I called them back and chose the low mile engine and was told by ***** warranty would cover and no cost to me After it was done I went to pick up car and they are not releasing it and said a warranty was never mentioned and I have to pay them out of pocket to get my car back My mother in law called my dealership, warranty company and ****** to get information in what is going on and ***** from Junes told her I didn't tell them about warranty but I did because otherwise I wouldn't have known to go to them and ***** told her if I don't pay they'll put a lien on car and take ownership to get their money. I am now paying on a vehicle I don't have and I can't afford to pay out of pocket and was told I wouldn't have to because I had a warranty. The warranty company is now telling me they can't help because Junes did the repair first and didn't submit the claim first like they were supposed to and now the warranty company says they can't pay for it because a claim wasn't filed first

Mr. ****** contacted Junes Auto and said that the engine in his car was
making noise and he thought that it needed to be replaced. I proceeded
to make the appointment for him to drop the vehicle off to us so that we
could check it out. At that time there was nothing mentioned about the
dealership from whom he purchased the vehicle from covering the repairs
or any kind of warranty coverage. Junes Auto has no affiliation with
S&J auto sales and there was no communication from either parties
involved about them sending Mr. ****** to us. After checking the vehicle
out and confirming that the engine did need replaced I called Mr. ********** to present the repair quote to him. I gave him two separate
quotes, one for a higher mileage and one for a lower mileage used
engine. After telling him it was going to be $6200 to install the higher
miles used engine Mr. ****** proceeded with verbal authorization of the
repair. At that time nothing was said on his behalf about any sort of
warranty coverage from S&J auto or any sort of aftermarket warranty
that the vehicle may have. After giving verbal authorization for the
first quote which was the higher mileage engine Mr. ****** proceeded to
call back and say that he would rather put the lower mileage engine in.
Again I advised him of the new quote which was $6390.52 and once again
he agreed to the price and gave verbal authorization, Never once
mentioning any sort of warranty. Junes Auto then proceeded to order the
engine and install it into the vehicle. Once the repairs were completed I
called Mr. ****** to inform that the vehicle was ready for him to pickup. Upon his arrival I asked if he was paying with cash
or debt/credit card. His response was he thought that it was covered
under warranty. I explained to him that throughout this entire process
he never once mentioned a warranty, never mentioned S&J auto sales
sending him to us or that anything of that nature and he agreed and
apologized. I informed him that the balance due for the vehicle must be
paid in full in order for me to release his keys to him due to the fact
that he gave verbal authorization not once but twice to perform the
repair and never mentioned a warranty or provided any sort of
documentation at the time of arrival. Never once did I threaten to put a
lien on his title or take the vehicle from him. Junes Auto has
extensive completed work through many of different aftermarket warranty
companies without issue including the one that Mr. ****** currently has.
Given the nature of the repair had we known the vehicle had some sort
of coverage this would have triggered and immediate stoppage of repairs
after diagnosis to contact the warranty company knowing that major
powertrain claims universally trigger a 3rd party inspector to come out
and verify the point of failure before giving authorization to complete
    the repair.
