I have been ordering poultry from Meyer Hatchery since early 2019. Out of four orders, which have included day old chicks as well as started pullets totaling 22 birds, there has only been one loss and one incorrectly sexed. My latest order of chicks is still too young to know for sure, but I am confident that if any have been sexed incorrectly they will make it right. They have always been quick to reply and to correct any issues, including super speedy reimbursement. I should add that I live in ****** and thats a very long trip for these birds.

What a c*** business. They have no regard for their customers or producers. We have a ranch and raise cattle, pigs, chickens, and produce. Wanted to get into raising turkeys to produce for the holiday season. Did the research and planning. Weeks ago, I ordered and pre-paid for 8 broad breasted Turkeys to be delivered the week of July 10th. They would be perfect harvesting size and age for Thanksgiving. Awaiting my shipment confirmation email, I get an email claiming my order was unable to be processed. Wait what? IF they had said only 4 or 6 of them hatched I may have believed them, but 0 turkeys out of 8? Not possible. After I pre-paid for my order this c*** business resold and shipped my turkeys to someone else. Leaving me completely s****ed. Not enough time to make another order, so after spending $2k + building a turkey shed, buying bulk feed, and paying a deposit to hold my processing spot, I am 100% screwed by their incompetence. Their answer is to send me Turkeys on July 31st, because selling inferior, premature, undersized turkeys to my customers is supposed to negate the fact that these thieves stole my money and gave my poults to someone else. I highly doubt this horrible company will do anything to make this right. I'm sure we can look for a list of excuses and lies below in a response. Essentially all my money bought was the experience of getting f***ed over and excuses. And their customer service team doesn't even care that they have completely destroyed my investment. I'm a first generation rancher, so a hot like this is crippling, all due this business' negligence. This is my first experience with this sad excuse of a company, and it will be my last. Their entire business model is built around s******* their customers over, and treating you like you are less than. Literally took my money for poults, then turned around and sold and shipped my birds to someone else.

Hello ****, We ship orders on a first-ordered, first-shipped basis. We are dealing with live animals and sometimes things do not hatch as well as expected, which is what happened in your situation. You were rescheduled for the soonest available and promptly canceled and refunded at your request as that date did not work for you. I understand that is frustrating but some things are out of our hands, We do recommend placing your orders as far in advance as possible to secure your desired date, and ordering has been open for this season since 10/31/2022. I hope you are able to find another source for your turkey operation.

I ordered a flock of chicks being 8 specific pullets and 1 specific rooster. These were ordered for a life choice and to replace loss of other birds. I paid more than usual for these birds and delivery. Do to the way Meyers mailed the chicks I had to drive one and a half hours to the larger postal house hub to get them so they would not die as chicks are mailed without food and water. After weeks of feeding and caring for the chicks I realized one chick was the wrong breed all together, and it appears to be the rooster, which was extremely important for our flock. After contacting Meyers they refunded my money for just the one chick. The loss of that chick, destroyed our whole purpose. Raising chicks together is important. When selling specific breeds of chicks, they must keep the breeds separate and I believe it would be impossible for them to be mistakingly swapped with a different breed. I further believe that Meyers or their employee intentionally placed the wrong chick in my order for what ever reason such as they didn't have the rooster and hoped I would except it. I am out of the whole chance to have a flock raised together. I have no rooster fertilize my pullets eggs. Refunding the rooster isn't enough. Bad business, and I want others to know of their incompetence when ordering such a important thing. This wasn't a piece of clothing, or a appliance. This was a an important part of our lives. I should have gotten all of my money back, cuz now I have a bunch of over priced egg layers which I could have gotten at any farm supply store for a lot less.Meyers said I could order more pullets and another rooster, they would not send just a rooster. Why would I be so stupid as to order anything from them ever again.

Hello *****, Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback. Meyer Hatchery strives for 100% accuracy when sexing our chicks. However, we are dealing with live animals and an error may occur. To cover those instances, Meyer Hatchery offers a 100% Gender Accuracy Policy effective for birds hatched. If we make an error, we will refund for the bird we sexed in error. ******************************************************** If any specific breed or gender is needed for a breeding program, we highly recommended ordering multiple to account for a possible loss, specific traits you are looking for, etc, so that you have options to pick from to establish your breeding program.

I have had 4 orders delivered in the last 6 months. The chicks arrive healthy. My very first orderit was unexpetedly brutally cold and i had 1 death.i called they asked me to contact at 48 hours, they reached out to me , refunded the chick.3 months later 1 turned out to be a cockerel.i sent pictures and i had a refund in my bank account 10 minutes later. All of my orders have been perfect. **************** has answered tons of questions within minutes usually . My birds have been healthy and when shared with breeders my more expensive breeds have been called not show quality but far better than normal hatchery quality and a decent pure bred starting point ( ameraucana, ********************* I have had birds from other hatcheries.i now only recommend Meyers and one other. The website is easy to use. The products are good quality with good value for the money.I have ordered bantams and standard birds. The birds all clearly represent the breeds purchased. The birds were packaged exceptionally well with appropriate heat packs and bedding. I ordered from 27 Nov 22 hatch, 23 jan 23 hatch, 27 mar 23 hatch and i have placed two product orders. Anyway, this is a WOMEN OWNED AND LED company that cares about their customers and their birds
