I rented a room at Put In Bay Resort this past weekend (August 19th through August 22nd). I would like to put in a huge complaint in regards to the management. As it is a small island most everyone rents a golf cart to get around. Per my confirmation letter from the resort they only allow that you rent a cart from an approved source either ********************* or *******************. We rented from *********************. When we arose on Saturday after our first night and went outside we noticed our golf cart was missing. I contacted the golf cart rental and they tracked my cart and it was across the street in another lot. I was frustrated and couldn't understand how anyone could use the cart as not only do you need a key to the cart but there is also a keyed lock you use to lock up the wheel. Again on Saturday evening we parked the cart right in front of the hotel. When we returned 45 minutes later the cart was again gone! I was very upset and called the rental company who again said that they could track it but this time they said they would have to call me back. I noticed there were cameras in the front of the hotel and went to the desk to ask the staff if they could pull the camera footage and was told they could not as the manager had stepped out. My group went back outside and within a minute or so my golf cart rounded the corner. It was the hotel manager who had stolen our golf cart. When we confronted him he was very aloof about the situation and said he "had to run to the store". The manager stold our property and did not seem at all sorry about doing so. I am not sure if this is a regular practice of this establishment. He kept trying to shove $20 at me as if that makes it all better. The management of this hotel is horrible and I feel that some action needs to be taken.

    1. We do not have a BBB at Put-in-Bay. You are many miles away in ******.

    2. Guest parked illegally, for this reason her cart was moved the first time

    3. We do not have any employee such as she has described, nor did any employee of ours use her cart and the store is closed late night.

I am rejecting this response because: I reject the response received.  My girlfriends and i did have our golf cart stolen not once but twice.  I have no reason to make up any allegations against this resort.  What occurred did occur.  I do have an email from the resort acknowledging that this did happen.  They did try to back peddle their way out of it claiming that the staff member "accidentally" took the cart.  My allegation stands as stated and this establishment needs to own up to it.  I have attached the email received from the resort when they did finally reply to me regarding the occurrence.

    Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: The establishment needs to own up to this matter and accept the wrong actions of their staff.  Theft of property from a guest is a huge offense!
