      I have been contacting Premier Smiles Orthodontics since October 2024 for my dental records. Today, I visited their office and was told I couldn’t get my records unless I paid them $500 which is a violation of HIPPA. The office manager was very argumentative and disrespectful to say the least. For the last year and a half I have been getting the run around when it came to getting anything done with this dental office including appointments. October of 2023 was the last time I got an actual appointment with this office. On the day of said appointment, I tried to schedule my next appointment before leaving and was told someone would call me. No one ever called. When I would call them they would tell me someone would call me back. I had also set up direct monthly payments from my bank account to pay for my services on that same day. A payment was never taken. Eventually someone told me that they wouldn’t be servicing me anymore, my account was in collection and that I needed to pay $500 to get my braces off. That is when I went and spoke with the orthodontist team at my dental office and was told there is a legal form, that if sent from one dental office to another the recipient must release the patients records. That was in October of 2024. Premier Smiles ignored it and has proceeded to ignore calls, emails, and in person requests for said records.

      I had been receiving orthodontic treatments with this company and have decided to take my treatment elsewhere. I have made multiple requests for my paperwork so that i can transfer since December 20th of 2023 and was told that the company had sent my paperwork out but i have still not recieved it. I asked for the paperwork in person to which i was told to contact HR regarding this and now HR is not answering my emails since the end of January. It has been 60+ days since asking for my paperwork which now falls under a HIPPA violation as a company has 60 days to provide a patient with their requested medical records. I have asked for a tracking number multiple times to which i have recieved no response just shy of a month. The treatment i am receiving from this company is atrocious and all i want is my paper work so that i may continue with my orthodontic treatment elsewhere.
