I live in ****** ****. Our local Kokosing Solar installed a solar system for our house and garden area. ***** and the design team did a great job meeting the challenges of my project. **** and the installation team did a great job with installation. 6 months in and the system is surpassing our expectations in savings. I've been a builder for 30 years and I am impressed with everyone I worked with at my local *********** Kokosing.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with this Kokosing solar project. From start to finish everything was handled professionally. Kokosing engineering provided us with a drawing of our garage roof, which supported 18 solar panels. we agreed this would be the best location for the panels since our home roof was not as good fit. Due to the design of the roof. Installation day came this January. Installation was very professional. Since Im retired, I was able to watch the work in process. We chose not to have the battery storage option. With the solar monitoring system that we have, were able to find out how each panel is producing each and every day. Our electric **** seems to be cut in half each month. My sincere thanks to all of the Kokosing Solar team for the job theyve done for us. ******* *******Kokosing Solar

We purchased a 30 solar panel system for our home from ***** *** a number of years ago. They did a good job installing the system and it has worked well. The company was subsequently sold or changed to Kokosing Solar. The cost of the system was over $34,000
In 2023, one of our panels went bad. We had purchased LG panels for the house and I contacted Kokosing about the warranty and getting it replaced. I was told that they would look into it and heard nothing back. When I next contacted them, I was told that LG was no longer producing solar panels and that they could not get in touch with them about any warranty claim. We had been told by ***** *** that if there was a warranty claim, they would handle it for us. KoKosing, said since LG no longer made panels that they had tried to contact them with no success and thus it was now our problem, not theirs. Aside from not keeping their word about supporting any warranty claims, it is interesting that on their website, it still shows that they carry LG products. But they could not get in touch with them on our behalf????
The next issue was recently (2024). When ***** *** installed the panels I specifically asked what we would do if we needed to replace the roof. They said that they would remove and replace the panels for around $4000. This seemed reasonable to us. We are now replacing the roof and when I contacted Kokosing about removing and replacing the panels, they said that it would cost over $19,000 and that they could not even schedule us for at least 3 months out. Even given inflation, going from $4000 to $19,000 is outrageous.
I should point out that I am an owner of a solar business that operates in non-residential sector of the industry. So I know the market.
The message is not to trust this company when it comes to service after installation service. They are not responsive, not honest, and not fair on costs. As we plan our next solar project we will avoid this company and urge others to do the same.Kokosing Solar

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and frustration you've encountered regarding the warranty process for your solar panel and service inquiry.
First, we want to clarify the situation regarding LG. While LG has stopped production of solar panels, they continue to manufacture solar batteries, which is why they are still listed on our website. LG no longer makes solar panels, and the information we received from LG was that we can get the homeowner a few hundred dollars to replace the panel. In August of 2023, the quote was declined by the customer, until he needed further service work done.
Regarding your concerns about the cost of removing and replacing your panels during a roof replacement, we understand your disappointment with the service cost. After a review of our files, we were not able to find the quote for $4,000 deinstallation and reinstallation. Even back in 2016, $4,000 for this scope of work would have been too low to cover our costs given the site complexities. Since your initial installation in 2016, the industry has seen significant changes in labor rates, operational costs, and material costs. While we acknowledge your disappointment with the pricing, we assure you that our aim is not to overcharge but to cover our operational expenses and maintain the quality of our services.
As a fellow participant in the solar industry, we understand the importance of trust, honesty, and fair pricing. As the company has transitioned from Third Sun Solar to Kokosing Solar, rest assured that the majority of the solar team and leadership team have remained the same. The commitment to our integrity and commitment to our clients is unwavering and has only been bolstered by the transition into the Kokosing group of companies. It was great working with EVERY person at Kokosing. Everyone was easy to work with, knowledgeable, and responsive!
The installers/electricians are experienced. They knew exactly what to do and made everything look great.
The salesman (John Miller) presented and explained options, which none of the other solar companies mentioned to me (unless I asked them). John quoted microinverters, while more expensive, were better for my L-shaped layout. Also, Kokosing was unique in proactively quoting 405w panels, which means a more compact design (less roof area needed).Kokosing Solar

Buyer Beware
We thought everything was going smoothly. We spoke with a knowledgeable salesman. We shared what we were looking for. We were sent quotes for different options to choose from...
Once we signed paperwork only the total number of panels and some acronyms were used on paperwork. Come installation day, we find that their acronyms meant they were NOT going to deliver what was discussed. 'Well, this is what we got approved for the permits. We'll need to start over at your expense.'
We tried to set up meetings to discuss what happened, upon their request. The problem is, they also don't follow through on meetings.
In short, don't trust corporate staff with such a big investment. They'll give you what they want to deliver and not think twice about what fits you or your family. Know what you're walking into and use caution!Kokosing Solar

We understand that, as a homeowner, a lot of planning and excitement goes into a solar project, and we are sad to hear that your experience fell short of that. We work hard to make every customer's experience enjoyable and would like to learn more from you about your experience. According to our records, this project required our company to go through special zoning with you, and the project layout was reiterated in front of the project zoning board. The homeowner was in attendance with us at the meeting as we presented the system and layout design to the zoning board for approval. The homeowner didn’t mention any concerns about the layout of the system at that time. After the homeowner voiced concerns after the installation, we reached out immediately, but we have not heard back from either email ([email protected] or [email protected]). WE heard really good things about Third Sun and so we went with them to put up our solar. The crew that did our installation was amazing. We had panels put on the main roof of our house and our addition. Our main roof is very steep and they handled it like a champ. They answered any of my silly questions with patience and kindness.
