    DOS: 5/12/21, x-ray, bill amount: $288.75
Did not receive a bill until a year later.
Untimely billing and did not bill insurance. Insurance will no longer accept the claim.
CMH wants me to pay the whole amount.
Will not write off amount even though it is their error.
I have been in contact with them over the last 2 years about this bill and called about 1-3 times a month about it asking for a resolution.
I just got a debt collection letter about it. This is really going to hurt my credit for no reason.
I do not owe this bill.
They did not adjust it based on contractual rates with the insurance company. My insurance is great and pays a majority of medical bills at 80%, this did not happen obviously. I have given CMH the insurance information multiple times. My dependent has been fully covered on the plan the whole time.

On October ,2nd, 2022 I received a laceration to the side of my right index finger. The cut was cleaned and bandaged by a licensed paramedic. I went to Clinton memorial Hospital because I wanted to received stitches in a sterile environment. The wound was bandaged and not actively bleeding when I arrived at the hospital. I did not arrive in an ambulance.
In the ER the wound was examined, cleaned, and I received three stitches. They didn't give me a splint until I asked for one and did not say anything about they cost of the splint. When I received my bills month later it seemed very high so I asked for an itemized bill. This bill showed that they had coded the visit at an ER visit level 4. When I called and asked them what this meant I was told it was for complicated surgeries, such as putting in a catheter. Since this didn't seem to match with the three stitches I got I filed a complaint to have it reevaluated. After waiting a month, I had to call only to find out it had been sent to the wrong department. I would call them sveravk times throughout the next month only to be told that it was being processed and to keep waiting. During this time they repeatedly tried to collect the bill and even told me they couldn't put a hold on it, despite it being under review. They also sent the bill to collections all while it was supposed to be in hold. When I finally got some to look at it they still are saying it is a level four visit, claiming that it is because it was a laceration repair with a splint required. I feel that this whole process has been deliberately drawn out in an attempt to get me to pay a higher bill.
