I am so disappointed. I will never use Clinton Memorial Hospital again. Every single time I used them in the last 2 years the bill is paid the same day. This time they didn't ask nor did I. They sent my bill to my home by mail. I used my credit card and paid it. They charged me almost 10.00 for a service charge! Clinton Memorial now wants me to use a third party and then makes you pay for it? That was March 15th 2023 when I received the bill in the mail. My credit card company shows the bill was paid March 16th to Clinton Memorial. Everything should be good. Not even two weeks later I get a call from a collection agency. I let them know the bill had been paid the day I received it in the mail. They said they would inform the billing department. I was surprised to learn the billing department is not Clinton Memorial but a private company they now use. I still called them and told them the bill was paid they insist it was not. I asked them if they were a separate company and not actually the hospital. They confirmed they are hired by Clinton Memorial. I could not understand her! Her English was not very clear. I called the hospital again and eventually a man is on the phone. Was very rude, I told him I paid the bill, then his tone became very stern. I was not their for a fight. He then tells me they don't do billing anymore! I hung up on him quick while cursing, I was so mad.
Now I have to worry these third world agencies screwing up my credit. I have good to excellent credit. I'm not rich, I'm responsible.
What upsets me the most with Clinton Memorial is I paid the bill and not even 2 weeks later I have a collection agency calling me, My health is not good, which is irreversible and my life is a struggle and uncertainty. But I'm still strong and still work hard even dealing with my chronicle illness.
If I can't trust a Hospital with billing and they can't even manage a billing department, Why should I trust them with my health or my life?
