I had a plan with LegalShield and reported a disrespectful supervisor back in April. I requested to cancel my account over the phone, and I was told it was done. The account was indeed canceled from April to May, and no payments were taken during that time. In June, I contacted LegalShield to reinstate my account and made a payment to restart it. However, I was hospitalized in early August for emergency surgery and was recently released. When I called to update my payment information, the online portal wouldnt allow me to process the payment. An agent informed me that if I wanted the same plan, I would need to pay for the past seven months, which is absurd. He mentioned that my account didnt show as canceled on their end, but thats not my fault. I should only be responsible for two months payment, not seven. I was told that no payments were taken due to insufficient funds, yet I questioned how other charges were processed from my account when my daily balance well exceeded the monthly subscription amount. I always receive notifications from my bank for insufficient funds via email, text, and mail, but I have no such communications from LegalShield for April and May. I have not contacted LegalShield while I was hospitalized either, so to back pay for those months is absurd, but paying for months the account was supposed to be cancelled is ludacris.Business Response

This letter is in response to the above referenced individuals’ complaint.
Upon receipt of this Better Business Bureau Complaint, we have reviewed the membership file. PPLSI has no
record of speaking with *** ****** between February 2024 through October 4, 2024. There was a BBB
complaint regarding concerns with the Provider Law Firm in April, however, there was no request to cancel in
that complaint. PPLSI received one payment between April and October 2024 and the membership cancelled
due to nonpayment on August 15, 2024. The plan that *** ****** was on is no longer available. She may
reinstate on a new plan or make up the back payments to continue her old plan.

Law Firm in April, however, there was no request to cancel in that complaint. PPLSI had no phone or email

I spoke with an associate who assured me that if I bought a membership and I chose to cancel I would get a refund. Imagine my surprise when I call about my refund, and I'm informed that they're refusing to give me a refund! Nobody will honor what I was told. I never used the service and had it less than a week. Upon receipt of this Better Business Bureau Complaint, we have reviewed the membership file. The plan the
member is on does not allow refunds when the membership is cancelled. However, the request to cancel was
within the 10 day examination period, so the membership fee will be refunded and the membership will be
cancelled.

I joined legal shield on 08/20/24 . I was told that they could help my situation ( going up against ********** for identity theft (fraud) . A lawyer recommended I wait for a few months till they reverse the 1099c form. I decided to cancel instead of paying the monthly fee. They would try another lawyer and no one ever responded. To Whom It May Concern, Legal shield was supposed to find me an attorney for various pending cases and never did after I contacted them various times and told them this was urgent. I am rejecting this response because: intakes doesn't mean reprentation. However, how is something paid on September 23rd and ended on the 24th of September when it's a monthly subscription? Wouldn't that mean money is owed to that person? I do not believe LegalShield have one day memberships or at least it's not anywhere in writing on their site correct me if I am wrong about this one day membership.

I have been a Legal Shield customer almost continuously since being dismissed from law school at ***************** back in 2012. The recent case has been grossly mishandled: I was advised I would win quickly with $5650 or less, but the lawyer has billed for about 30K, and it's taken a long time. He's only filed the opening brief, charges my card without authorization, etc.Business Response

Call to get services and when they couldn't help me called back to cancel within the 1st month was told that the service was canceled. I was not told that I needed a written request at the time. I was then charged for a second month. I called in to find out why I was charged and was told then that they would cancel it over the phone and to send email for refund. I called back in weeks after the email to find out why I hadn't got my refund and was told I wasn't getting one because they needed a written cancelation and the email was it and the plan I was on did not have refund even though I should not have been charged at all and to dispute the charges through my bank.
