      I subscribed to legal shield on 11/5/24 with their $29.95/ month membership. On 11/6/24 I started getting calls from another business legal services( not sure if the name is correct). When I asked if this was legal shield they said no this was another business that charges a fee as well. I am not sure how this business received my information since I only signed up with legal shield. I emailed a cancellation request on 11/6/24 and no response as of today. I called legal shield on 11/7/24 and was told I need to send cancellation request in writing. I told them I already had sent an email and was told to keep that email. So I sent another cancellation email on 11/7/24 requesting a full refund. Still no response to that email as of today, 11/15/24. I have not been successful with canceling my membership and their system will not let me remove my credit card from their website without adding a new payment method.       On September 27, 2024, I enrolled in LegalShield's membership with the assurance that I could consult an attorney within 8 hours. LegalShield provided ******** ******* and ****** *** ****, but no attorney was available within the promised timeframe. Instead, ******* from the law firm scheduled an appointment for September 30 at 12:30 PM, which they ultimately failed to keep. Later, Attorney ******** ***** from their law firm attempted to contact me while traveling, but I missed his call.I spoke to Mr. ***** on October 1, 2024, about a time-sensitive document for review. He asked me to email it to ****************** which I did. I followed up with ******** ******* and ****** but couldn't reach him.On October 3, 2024, at 4:25 PM, I spoke with ******* from LegalShield to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received. She initiated a complaint form and assured me she would forward it to the law firm. Additionally, she connected me with ****** who is responsible for processing reimbursements. I discussed my issues with ****** who recognized my difficulty reaching the attorney. She apologized for the trouble, stated she would escalate my complaint, and instructed me to submit a written request for membership cancellation and a full refund.On October 4, 2024, at 4:09 PM, after I informed LegalShield that I no longer required counsel from Mr. ****** he emailed to let me know he reviewed my document and found it to be well-written and legally sound.On October 23, 2024, I wrote a letter to LegalShield requesting that they cancel my membership and provide a full refund. They informed me they were working to complete my request. However, they never refunded me for the service they failed to provide. I contacted LegalShield on November 11, 2024, and spoke to ******, who told me my refund was denied. Therefore, I request assistance in resolving this matter and obtaining a full refund from LegalShield for failure to provide the promised services.

      Upon receipt of this Better Business Bureau Complaint, we have reviewed the membership file. Mr. ********
      was requesting assistance to have a document reviewed. A Provider Lawyer contract Mr. ******** and advised
      him to send the document in for review. The Provider Law Firm has three business days to review documents
      and provide consultation to the member, which the Provider Lawyer did. Mr. ********’s LegalShield plan
      contract states in General Provision D. that, “The Member may request that this Contract be cancelled at the end
      of the current Eligibility Period by giving written notice to the Company. If the Member cancels the Contract the
      Fees paid for this Contract are nonrefundable. After the cancellation, the Contract will remain active through the
      end of the Eligibility Period.” Mr. ********’s LegalShield membership has been cancelled, however, no refund
      is due.

      Specifically, on September 26, 2024, before my enrollment, a LegalShield representative committed to providing a consultation within eight hours. The following day, September 27, 2024, ******* from ******** ******* and ****** reaffirmed this promise, assuring me of a consultation within eight business hours.

       

      Regrettably, they did not keep either of these promises. An appointment scheduled for September 30 at 12:30 PM was not honored.

       

      I am troubled by the possibility that LegalShield may be engaging in deceptive business practices, misleading clients into purchasing services based on false promises.

       

      Staff Attorney **** **** acknowledged my dissatisfaction with the three-day turnaround time for document review. However, she failed to explain why the initial promise of a consultation within eight business hours was not met, especially given the time-sensitive nature of the matter.

       

      I question whether LegalShields business practice involves luring consumers with false promises, which is unacceptable. As officers of the court, attorneys must uphold the law, act with integrity, and support the Constitution.

       

      LegalShield and the Provider Law Firms misrepresentation, delayed services, and unmet agreements have compromised these principles and eroded my trust. As a result, I am entitled to a refund.

      I initially subscribed to LegalShield and ID Shield via employment with ******************** (employer sponsored enrollment) and Resort. After being wrongfully/illegally terminated, I pursued re-enrolled individually. I asked the onboarding or Intake Representative if there would be a conflict if I enrolled and sought their help, for services against WinStar World Casino and Resort before officially re-enrolling. Their response was yes!Regardless to the fact that there would be a conflict or exclusion, they signed me up. After the final revelation, Im requesting all of my funds spent for both/all of there services (Legal Shield and ID Shield) in full.

      called to switch their membership from their former Employer’s group to a self-pay membership. The call the
      member made to make this switch has been reviewed and the Customer Service Representative advised the

      their plan on that call. Due to the member enrolling through their former Employer, they would not be able to

      I found an advertise by LegalShiel. I responded and received an email message with the phone number to call. I called and we had a conversation. I told them that I need a trial lawyer. My case had been scheduled for trial on 11/21/2024. LegalShiel asked did I want to pay $49/month? I said yes. The payment by debit card was made. A day later they sent me the contact of the lawyer. This lawyer wanted to charge me the fee. I told them no.

      On March 28, 2023, I started a LegalShield membership. In October, I noticed on the website that the membership was $24.99/month (photo attached) as I was initially quoted, not $29.95 that I had been autopaying! I called and spoke to a *** who stated that I would have to pay a year in advance without cancelation to get that rate. When asked about setting up a Trust in lieu of a Will, I was told that it was not complimentary as was a Will. I was dealing with some personal matters and was unable to immediately follow up.Over several months, I sought assistance with at least 3 other legal matters and was discouraged or denied assistance for various reasons. Finally, in July 2024, I decided to cancel my membership. My membership included demand letters, but not one was sent on my behalf! I also requested a full refund. Instead of helping me with my current concerns, the *** offered me the premium membership package for $59 per month, which would include the Trust and additional services. I declined stating that I was dissatisfied with the current eligible services not rendered. She transferred me to the cancellation line where I was advised that they would stop the autopay for 30 days upon receipt of my written cancellation request. I emailed my cancellation and refund requests of $509.15. I received an automated email response that they were working to complete my request. Two days later, I received an email response that they are sorry that I am canceling my membership and asked if I was aware of all the benefits that the legal plan offers before I go, yet no mention of a refund. In September 2024, I received an email request to renew my membership. Today, I called again and spoke to a supervisor, ******, regarding my request for a refund. It was denied. I literally received nothing for the $500+ that I paid. This is a rip-off, and they should not have an A+ rating!

      Thank you for responding to my recent inquiry requesting assistance for a refund from LegalShield.

      Per our phone conversation, the response received from *** **** **** accompanied with your letter does not address all of the issues of my complaint.  I went back through my records and found 5 intake calls/claims for separate incidents that I made to LegalShield requesting assistance that either they declined to assist me with or discouraged me to pursue the claim.  I never made any progress beyond the first phone call from the attorney.  I became discouraged after sending a 28-typewritten page document (not attached due to personal information included) providing details regarding my claim.  The attorney responded by requesting MORE information just to send a demand letter!  What?!

      To support my stance on the matter that *** **** referred to in her response to my complaint, I have attached a photo of the price that they advertised online.  When I signed up, I didn't immediately realize that I had been billed $5 more per month than the price advertised online until I received the first or second online statement.  In addition, I wasn't aware that they were the ONLY law firm in the ******* and/or ******* area that is contracted with LegalShield to assist all of the *******/Georgia residents!

      I joined the LegalShield Program with the understanding that demand letters were included in the plan.  They offered me a will, but I already have one so it wasn't needed.  They never sent any demand letters on my behalf.  I have paid them $509.15 with nothing to show for my hard-earned money spent, and I need it back.

      I am rejecting this response because they have not provided any evidence where I chose a $29.95 plan.  Provide the proof.

      In addition, the person responding to my complaint ASSUMES that "the Provider Attorney may have needed further information not included in what was initially disclosed," and feels that that is sufficient cause to deny my refund!  It is not acceptable! 

      Furthermore, the Plan benefits include demand letters. I never read that it was at the Provider Attorney's discretion as to whether or not demand letters are sent, especially if it is a legitimate claim!  It would be understandable if more information was needed, but I eliminated that issue with a 28-page detailed document of one of the incidents!  Additional information could have been provided if requested for the other 4 claims that I filed also.

      This program is a rip-off to consumers, and I am still demanding a full refund immediately.

      Legal shield is committing fraud by collecting fees of $29-38 for prospective law customers, but they get nothing in return. They pair up with ***** and ******** who claim they will learn the case, but that is a lie because they never do. After 30 days, nobody had learned the case. They should have all be disbarred and fined for corruption and fraud. I was promised a demand letter and they said it would come the following week, but it never happened. They need to be fined for theft.

      Member Resolution team reached out to *** ********** to attempt to resolve her concerns, however, the
      Provider Law Firm needs permission from the member to provide any information regarding interactions with
      the member due to attorney-client privilege, and the Provider Law Firm was never able to receive that
      permission. The Provider Law Firm called *** ********** multiple times on the intake she opened. LegalShield

      I am rejecting this response because: **** **** lies when she says she reached out to me several times when she didn't because I only spoke to her once.  She claimed she would help, but she ignored me quickly after that.  She is not competent nor is King, another attorney, there. I spoke with ****, as well, and he was arrogant and rude. He promised to write a letter, but I never heard from him again. They have broken promises. He said," I would be getting a letter in the email, but that was another lie." I guess Legal Shield is corruption at its best. They ought to be disbarred and never be able to practice law ever again. She never even read my case file received in September, so she was unaware of the details when we spoke. They are scammers and don't care about helping anyone, they just want the money. The intake person, *******, was the most caring individual working there. I wasted $29.00 for membership, but I got nothing. For the BBB to say, "Legal Shield made a good faith effort is criminal" since they are not in the business of taking care of one's legal issues. They ought to close down and be fined for committing fraud amongst the citizens. I will go on their BBB page for Legal Shield and tell all to stay away from this corrupt business practices.

      Dear Better Business Bureau,I am filing a complaint against Legal Shield for unprofessional conduct and failure to provide the promised legal services. Over the past year, I sought their assistance to address severe cases of cyber harassment, defamation, and threats, providing them with all necessary information and evidence about the violators. Despite this, Legal Shields response was marked by repeated delays, mismanagement, and a lack of continuity among attorneys handling my ************* ****** *. ******, assigned from ********* ******* * ******* *** drafted a cease-and-desist letter filled with errors and omissions. When I requested a revision, he responded dismissively, ignoring the nature of the harassment I was experiencing. Another attorney, ***** ******, rudely told me to take it or leave it, further compounding the frustration. Instead of addressing my needs, they redirected me to the police, and when I tried to escalate the matter, my calls went unanswered.       requested the Provider Law Firm write several demand letters, however, the member was unable to provide
      sufficient information to the Provider Law Firm to complete a conflict check or confirm who was the owner of
      the accounts at issue. Without this information, the Provider Law Firm is not able to assist a member. General
      Provision J. of the LegalShield member contract states in part, “The Company may cancel this Contract if the
      Provider Law Firm determines that access to and necessary interaction with the Member is severely limited. The
      Company may cancel this Contract if the Provider Law Firm determines that the Member is unable, unwilling,
      or incapable of accepting or understanding legal advice and Services.” A pro-rated refund was provided to the
      member upon cancellation of the membership.

      Thank you for reviewing my BBB complaint. Id like to clarify that I provided all requested information for a conflict check and confirmed account details to facilitate the drafting of a cease-and-desist letter addressing harassment and defamation. Despite my cooperation, the Provider Law Firm repeatedly delayed my case, and my file was frequently passed to new attorneys, requiring me to resubmit information and furthering delays.

      When a cease-and-desist letter was finally issued, it contained multiple errors. I simply requested a revision to address these issues. Instead, my membership was canceled abruptly without any attempt to address my concerns or complete the services I paid for. Your response states that I was unwilling to provide information or accept legal advice, which is inaccurate; I was fully cooperative and met all requirements.

      Given these circumstances, I respectfully request that my membership be reinstated to allow completion of the services I subscribed to and that a corrected cease-and-desist letter be issued. Additionally, I request a partial refund as compensation for the delays, uncooperative handling of my case, and premature termination of my membership.

      The response to my inquiry, which was addressed to a completely different individual, unfortunately underscores the level of service I received from your provided law firm. 

      Throughout my time as a member, I experienced repeated delays, mismanagement of my case, and unsatisfactory responses from various attorneys. My requests for revisions to demand letters, which included reasonable adjustments based on my documented concerns, were consistently dismissed without explanation. Despite assigning multiple attorneys, each of whom purportedly exhausted the matter, the issues remained unresolved, leaving me without the assistance I needed. Ultimately, your firm advised me to retain a Referral Lawyer, further demonstrating a lack of commitment to seeing my case through.

      I pay legal shield to have access to attorney at a monthly fee. They were supposed to cover my litigation for my eviction and did not use the hours allotted , causing me to lose my business and home. I brought it to their attention and they dont want to take accountability or hold the provider law firm accountable for their actions. WE PAY FOR A SERVICE AND WE NEED TO GET WHAT WE PAY FOR OR YOU WILL BE IN BREACH OF CONTRACT. LEGAL SHIELD NEEDS TO MAKE THE PROVIDER LAW FIRM HOLD UP THEIR END OF THE CONTRACT OR FACE THE CONSEQUENCES. Its REALLY SIMPLE TAKE THE LITIGATION HOURS NOT USED FOR THE EVICTION AND AS PAID FOR AND APPLY SOME OF THE HOURS TO THE CRIMINAL CASE INVOLVING THE SAME LANDLORD AND TO HONOR YOUR END OF THE CONTRACT AND DEFENDING THE PAYING CUSTOMER. ALSO WILL NEED A COUPLE MONTHS FREE OF FEES. PROVIDER LAW FIRM TRIED TO DENY EVICTION CASE HAVING MERUT WHEN BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE.
