    They took my dress for consignment, my car broke down and I told them I couldn’t come get it but was trying after I called and found out it had expired . They never told me how long I had to get it just that I needed to and they claim to have donated it . My dress was 2500 dollars . It’s the most expensive thing I owned . They never called my when it expired either and they never gave a date of expiration or a copy of the paper they had me sign. This business steals from people and the man John is awful and does all the dirty work for his wife . It’s a husband a wife owned business that are only out for themselves .

    We take bridal gowns for consignment for one year. When they sell within the year we pay 40%. If they don't sell the consignor has 10 days after the expiration date to retrieve the dress or it is donated. ***** signed a contract on 4-17-24 when she brought the dress in to that effect and the contract was explained in full several times that our agreement would expire on March 17th 2025.

    We spoke on 6-27-2024 and told her the dress had not sold and that she had 10 months left and it would be expired on March 17th 2025.

    We spoke on 10-17-24 and told ***** the dress had not sold and that she had eight months left on her contract which would expire on March 17 2025.

    The next time Xebia called was on April 3rd, 2025 three weeks after the expiration date and well past the agreed grace period. The dress was in the donation bin, but because ***** promised she would come that week to pick it up, we pulled it and set it aside. ***** did not come to get her dress, neither did she call. 

    ***** next contacted us on April 19th, two months after the contract expired telling us she had a family emergency but she was coming to pick up the dress. We called back and there was no answer. And once again no call no show.

    ***** called on April 30th, 11 days after her last call, to tell us she had car trouble and could not come or call.  ***** was  told the dress, in accordance to our signed agreement, had been donated. She had trespassed on our good nature for the last time.

    This is a consignment shop that appears to be really running a scam business. They take your items and say they will keep them for 60 days and at the end of your 60 days they will send you a check and then they will donate the items that dont sell. When in actuality, they continue to sell your items after 60 days but you get no profit from them. I have never heard of consignment stores who dont first look thru the items you bring in to see which ones they think will sell and normally at the end of the 60 days you can choose to come back and pick up your items that dont sell. They dont tell you when you bring in your items that they are going to keep them in their store and sell them without you getting any of the profit after 60 days. If you go to Yelp reviews you will see numerous complaints about this business. Unacceptable behavior. I brought in at least 2 large boxes of shoes, many were brand new, along with nice clothes and purses some of which were designer items. I received a check for $6 from them and that was all. What a scam! They have you sign paperwork but dont give you a copy and again they never tell you that they will keep your items after 60 days and you will get no return on those items. Horrible way to run a business.

    The consignor was told what our procedures are several times before she consigned her clothing and has signed a written agreement to that affect of which we have a copy.

    Because she doesn't like the outcome doesn't change that fact. 

     

    She must cease and desist. And the BBB must remove this complaint.

    I am rejecting this response because:  The business did not fully disclose that they would continue to sell my items after 60 days with me getting no profit from it.  This seems like a very underhanded way to make money at the cost of the customer.  They also did not give me a copy of any contract which is not the norm for any consignment business that I have ever used.  I would like all of my items back that they currently have in their store or far more than the $6 check that they sent me.  Absolutely unacceptable and unfair!

    I am rejecting this response because:  There is a reason that this business does not give the consigner a copy of their contract; it's because they do not want them to know that they are selling their items and the consigner is getting NO percentage of the money.   I would like to have my items back or the percentage of the money they are making from my items.  $6 is totally unacceptable!  Had I read the plethora of negative comments online about this business in advance, I would never have brought my items there to consign.  When you get 1 or 2 negative comments that's one thing; but when you get multiple ones with the same type of message, then there is some validity to those comments and it supports their low online ranking.
