Engine was purchased from Powertrain OKC 7/17/23, with the guarantee of unlimited mile warranty for 36 months. Within 7-10 days of running new engine, new error codes were activated and the engine immediately ran poorly. After taking back into shop and working with warranty service, they would not replace the "lemon" engine, only suggested to make minimal repairs to get by (after local mechanic suggested it was a bad engine and repairs would not work). After engine ran after repairs, full power or a "bog" down of the power would happen until the truck eventually died. For nearly 7 months, we have communicated with the warranty company, only to be directed to the next "technician" and refusing to replace the "lemon" engine. This company does not honor their warranty and refuses to swap the "lemon" product with another option. Powertrain states that we must change multiple parts out prior to them continuing to help. Powertrains warranty does not cover the cost of the mechanic, only a percentage of the labor, leaving the customer to pay for all parts and the remaining labor. Unfortunately, this service is a scam and will only give you the run around until you hopefully quit calling!Business Response

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We would like to clarify that Powertrain Company is a distributor, and the warranty for your engine is provided directly by the manufacturer. As such, all warranty-related decisionsincluding repairs, replacements, and coverage termsare determined solely by their warranty department.
We understand the challenges youve faced in working through the warranty process. However, we do not have the authority to influence or override the manufacturers decisions or repair procedures. The terms of the warranty, including coverage for labor and parts, are also established by the manufacturer, not Powertrain Company.
We recommend continuing to work with the manufacturers warranty team to resolve your concerns. If you encounter additional difficulties, we are happy to assist in facilitating communication with the warranty department.
Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to clarify. Please let us know if we can help further.

The wrong unit was sent to customer, the engine was returned to manufacturer. Powertrain Company is waiting for the shipment to be checked back in and restocked before sending a refund. While wating, we did offer to go ahead and send the correct unit to customer. I will go ahead and set up a refund today for customer after calling to make sure that customer doesnt want the replacement unit. We dont like making mistakes, but they do happen. Customer will be refunded today, even if the unit has not been checked in by manufacturer.Initial Complaint

I ordered a transmission is was junk did not work paid *******. Install did not work. ********************************* agreed through email to refund amount after it was returned. Aer manufactoring took it back with shipping company ********************************* of powertrain company is now attempting to block my dispute. ****** saying to drop my dispute and he will refund. My citibank credit card says do not drop dispute. They are raising the dispute to remove his charge to **** and Mastercard. I have sent all supporting text and emails. My next step is a lawsuit. I'm currently up to 30 complaint parties.Business Response

The customer disputed the charges, after disputing the charges and Powertrain Company responded to the dispute, the customer returned the product. The issue is that since we answered the dispute, we can not accept the dispute from our Credit card merchant company. No matter what the outcome is of the dispute, we want to get the customer a refund in full, and would have already if there wasnt a dispute filed. We are now following the guidelines of the dispute, which could slow down the process. This is an unfortunate situation and we aim to please every customer. We are still looking for a way to expedite the refund process with our merchant provider.Initial Complaint

I purchased a "New" crate engine from this company, on 7 / 26/ 2023. I waited over a month to receive the engine. Paid a professional to take my old engine out and install the new engine. As soon as the job was completed and the new engine was started, there was a ticking noise coming internally from the engine. I had to take the vehicle, a 2009 Dodge Ram to another shop, to have the noise diagnosed and repaired. Seems the installed ," Used Lifters in the "New" engine. The mechanic has since replaced 8 worn lifters, and the engine still has a noise. Mechanic is now looking at the crankshaft bearings. I shelled out a lot of money, trusting that the engine I was ordering was in fact a new engine, when in fact, it must have been a used engine with used worn out parts. Their "Warranty Company " has been sending the replacement parts, as they are being diagnosed, but now my truck has been in the shop for the past 4 months, and expected to be in there a while longer, due to this company's ill practice. The engine came with a 3 year / ******* mile warranty, But I use my truck for my produce hauling business, and I wanted a new trust worthy engine, so I went with this business, and am beyond upset, with what I received. Thank you, Sincerely, *************************Business Response

Dear *****************************,

Ordered a motor from Powertrain on 7/27/23. We did not receive any detailed warranty information until last week (on 9/26), after we received the motor and we had begun installation (I believe was on 9/11) (which I had to request this detailed warranty information due to it not being included with the engine as I was told it would be). Detailed warranty information is not listed on your website, and we depended on our salesman to provide details to us prior to purchase, which he did not. ************ has the tools needed to install a properly remanufactured engine, which we did not receive from this company. There would have been no issues if the motor had been delivered in proper working order. This motor could NOT have been tested prior to being sent to us. If it had been, you would have seen the oil leak and other issues and (hopefully) would not have sent us this faulty motor with faulty parts on it.You sent an engine with a bad seal and oil pump, bad cooling system(shooting coolant out each time it is started), and other unknown issues causing it to have a distinct knock-indicating further that it was not tested prior to shipping. You also did not include the proper gaskets, so immediately there were issues, and ************ had to buy parts that should have been included.Powertrain did not communicate to anyone involved prior to our receipt of the engine and the installation being initiated by ************ any information regarding diagnostics that would be required if there was a problem with the engine.Business Response

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: neither company has returned my calls/emails nor the mechanichs correspondence from the repair shop. On the rare occasion I get to speak with someone at PowerTrain, , the representative has zero authority to do anything to help. I have been without my vehicle for over 7 weeks. Unacceptable, and very poor customer service. I need a resolution.
Sincerely,
*****************e knows it would be defective within another year. After he spoke with the warranty department and original vendor. They have authorized both engines to be returned for full refund of my original purchase $4,200, +core of $300 and labor $95/hr. However, the engines are still siting at the shop. The new reman engine is $6,900 and labor of $150/hr. I am out $15k until I am reimbursed. Neither Vendor or ******************* will correspond with me effectively. I have sent multiple e-mails, left several voicemails and texts, to no avail. I am a single mama of 3 teens. We need my vehicle. it has been sitting for 7 weeks.Business Response

I paid $3,082.00 to Powertrain for a rebuilt V8, 5.3L motor. The "NEW" motor was to be delivered in 4-6 weeks. I called after 5 weeks, only to discover the salesman, whom no longer is employed at Powertrain, had given me an incorrect time frame. I had to wait another 5 weeks. When the "NEW" motor finally arrived at ************ Tire Mart, in ************, *******, the additional parts were installed and the "NEW" motor, itself, was installed in the vehicle. The "NEW" motor would NOT RUN !! Calls were made and an agreement reached, to were, Powertrain would all extra labor incurred and send another "NEW" motor. The "NEWER" motor arrived, approximately a week or so later and the engine pull, parts swap and reinstall began once again. Poertrain, ALSO, said they would pick up BOTH the core and the bad motors together so as not to burden us with the $450.00 core charge. They STILL have not picked up, either the core OR the faulty "NEW" motor and withdrew the $450.00 from my Son's account. NOW Poertrain will not cover the entire amount of extra labor, stating, they only cover $50.00 an hour labor ! By NO fault of mine OR Tire Mart, was the "NEW" motor defective. This is unjust, unfair and, frankly UNAMERICAN !! Please help ! Thank You VERY Sincerely *******************************.Business Response
