When I arrived the truck I was to buy looked great and drove great. The vehicle had already been warmed up for me! Sweet! Drove it home to which it seemed to be a gas guzzler, no big deal. The next morning ready to head out for the day, the vehicle would crank, but not start. It has a cold start issue, which makes me wonder why it was warmed up when i got there?I did eventually get it to start to which it ran very poorly until it got up to operating temperature. After the drive cycle the check engine light came on, being a shade tree mechanic I didnt think much of it either. What it turned out to be was a p1151 DTC which is a major problem for this 2002 f150 Cng. I believe the code was intentionally cleared before my test drive so I would not be aware of what I was getting into. I have a 2000 f150 Cng with ****** miles on it and it was such a good truck until it got the p1151 DTC to which I threw about 1100$ worth of parts at it to fix with no luck. I did call and talk to ***** about the misfortune/malice I got with his dealership to which he did reply that he knew nothing of the problems with this truck, unwilling to take the vehicle back because I bought it as is even I was led to believe a lie in the as is he said he would be willing to throw parts at the vehicle to fix it and not charge me labor, but would not pay for the problem to be repaired just what he thought was reasonable. I find it hard to take it back to his dealership as I have already been burnt by him once. I am now the proud owner of a $4800 paperweight. I would not recommend buying from split rock auto and neither would the guy I ran into at the fill up station that knew of his dealership as well.
