On 03/02/2024, I built a ** code on QR.io for my website. I had been under the impression that the ** code would be free, as there are many free ** code designers out there and the website does not mention that there will be a payment. Upon building the code, I then created over (100) laminated papers, with the code, and distributed them around. I then paid $225 for (30) large road signs with the ** code on them. The day after the signs were completed, 03/09/2024, I received an email stating that I received my first scan. However, I had been monitoring the scans and it was definitely not the first scan. I went to the website to see where they were at and then was informed my "7 Day Trial" was over?! I was required to pay $35 to upkeep all my marketing for my land sale website because I had already put them all out. I went back to the website to see if I missed something but there was nothing on the site about it.

This site presents itself as a free service and makes no mention of subscriptions until AFTER you have created a ** code and used it on printed material. After two week users receive and email that essentially holds your ** code hostage unless you purchase an expensive subscription to a useless service. This subscription is non-refundable and users must pay for the entire year which they also falsely present as a monthly fee. They lock you into paying hundreds of dollars for something that can be gotten for almost anywhere elsewhere for free. If there where at month-to-month I'd at least (very grudgingly) keep the ** code active until I can get new printed materials. They are aware of this of course, that is why they force you into the non-refundable full-year payment.Designers should especially beware. This site will put you in a real jam with clients. The bottom line is this company is using deceptive advertising practices to extort users. High ranking paid ****** ads and false reviews lure unsuspecting users, even ones that are fairly savvy.

The company makes you believe your ** code is free, and then at the end of the free trial for the premium plan they charge $35 a month to use the ** code. I already had posters made with the ** code that were time sensitive, and they screwed me over.

This business makes QR codes and advertises them as "free". After 7 days deactivates them at and requires a $35 per month subscription. I used these QR codes for my business cards which cost $153.98. I am losing this money because I need to redesign my business cards with a functional QR code. My issue is that this business makes the consumer believe that their service is free and then charges a hefty fee for something that is usually a free or low-cost service. This is a particularly deceptive business and I strongly believe that they should be penalized for their dishonesty. I am writing in the hopes that this action will prevent someone from being tricked into wasting their time and money like I did.Thank you for your time,***************

I set the account up for my husband and used our personal CC initially to set it up. He changed the card on file from our personal CC to my husband's company CC on 14 Aug. 2023. The company charged our personal card the $350 annual (12-month) fee anyway. The company charged an additional $350 to my personal card on 25 Sept. 2023. Logged in to the site and my card is not on file for billing. The company card is. They have retained my card number after it was removed from their system and continue to charge it. They charged the annual fee, twice. The second charge was after the service was canceled. They do not have a phone number to contact them and they are unresponsive to all emails and webform submittals. I believe this company is a fraud.

Please find attached two emails that have been sent to QR.io with no response. We have also submitted multiple requests via the company's online form and received zero response. The company continues to be unresponsive and the $700 charged to the card ending in **** (that is not on-file) needs to refunded.

Summited an online review to Trustpilot on Thursday, September 28 and received the standard copy-and-paste response that has been posted to all of their negative reviews. My husband contacted the email provided, *********** as requested. We have not received a response or a refund.
