I found a truck online listed a 2011 f-150 **** pickup truck with 225k Miles, and it said $3,000. When I made the contact from the website I gave it all of my information so that they could contact me. I was then contacted by them and told specifically that they Did have the truck there, exactly how much the truck was, and that I was to look at that truck. They told me that they would hold the truck that the truck was "there" and that the truck was $3,000. When I got there, they proceeded to tell me that the truck I had inquired about was sold already. And then whenever I told them that I had the word of the establishment stating that the truck was to be saved and purchased by me, they changed the story up and said that the truck was no good and that they wouldn't sell it to anybody because it had a bad motor. I asked them why they would have listed the truck for $3,000 online if it would have had a bad motor. They continued to lie to me and said that it was a bad motor and they tried to defer attention away from the fact that it was listed. I do believe that it is ****** law that states that the truck has to be inspected before it is put online as a listing. Then is when they would have checked the motor to see that it was fine according to the person that had traded it in and according to the mechanic at their shop. The first iteration of the fact that it had been sold was more truthful than the other statement I believe, in which they were saying that the motor was bad. I had contacted them originally and they told me that they still had the truck and it was still for $3,000 and they would hold it for me. I'm complaining about being lied to that the truck was sold and or was being held for me. When it is agreed upon the truck was "there" and that the truck was $3,000, and that they would hold the vehicle for me, and then to turn around and sell it, I literally think that's against the law. I deserve to be treated fairly. ******************* and ***** the manager.Business Response

I am sorry about your experience with Damerow ***** We do have ***** salespeople that sell the same inventory and it does happen now and then where there are mutliple customers trying to purchase the same unit. Our vehicles are for sale until sold and once sold unfortunately they are gone. We do our best to make sure our website it always up to date and accurate. Sometimes it does take awhile to get vehicles through the shop. We inspect every vehicle to make sure they are safe and road worthy but there are times when other issues not related to safety come up and we address them as fast as possible. There are times that a car or truck may be cleared for safety but later another concern comes up then we have to address it and decide to either keep a vehicle or wholesale it. We also have other stores that are able to cross sell used inventory so at times vehicles can sell very fast. I will have my team reach out if we can get another truck that fits your needs.Customer Answer

This response would have to be accompanied with "action" in order to be a sufficient response. (This response is a "yet to be fulfilled" promise.)I'm cautious that the truck they might offer me, if anything at all, would be less than the truck that they had for sale. They still have yet to offer me a truck for sale. Also I'm afraid of sabotage, I'm disabled so I have to be careful with that. I realize that notion would be preposterous but if you look at the judicial system it's not past some of the people.
Sincerely,

Damerows **************** and ******************* are extremely horrible. I was constantly lied to about my car such as they guaranteed me that my car was safe to drive, fully serviced, and has no issues which was a complete lie. It misfires on day 1 and Damerow wouldn't do anything about it. My dealer told me that she couldn't even sell me the car if it wasn't Serviced so it couldn't be misfiring. A There own service guy told me that the vehicle was never properly serviced and shouldn't been sold to us. We had there Service people fix my A/C on the Sales wallet but that didn't last more then 2 months. We had the car checked at a ***** location and was quoted $7,500.00 just for a pison ring even though I know that's not the only issue going on. After 10 months, my car is a complete lemon and won't even start anymore. I'm stuck paying it off and it was so dangerous to drive. Damerow told me at around month 3 that they could exchange it for another car but we would need to get our credit checked again (my mom and I) but they screwed our credit up by 100 points the first time they pulled it plus we wouldn't be getting the whole payment of our car paid off, only the amount they would buy our car for which is like $2,500.00 so we'd still be sick with over $12,000.00 in car payments plus the $8,000.00 we still had in interest. For not only a freaking LEMON but an UNSAFE one! It stalled on me on the freeway, reversing, turning a corner, at stop signs. It even would roll backwards while in drive when I was idling at a stop sign or reverse in drive when I'm getting out of a parking lot. They lied to me about how the interest worked, saying it comes out AFTER the car is paid off and that it would be easy to turn the car in to get the car we were having built. They made sure that my mom and I were so tired before they even got the appointment started. Took 5 whole hours &they took advantage exhausting my ******* where we just wanted it to end& zoomed through the paper work.Business Response

We are sorry to hear of the troubles with your 2011 Equinox. The vehicle did pass our safety inspection at the ****** mile point and in fact, it passed the Oregon State ******** meaning that at the time there were not any engine issues or stored codes. When a vehicle goes through DEQ testing it will not pass with factory check engine lights on or other known issues. Not every used car is perfect and with a 10+ year old car things can break without warning at any time. The customer did purchase a one year powertrain warranty that was good for up to ****** miles. ********** a pre-owned vehicle is a good way to save money but with a pre-owned vehicle there may be unexpected expenses that are beyond prediction or control. We are still more than happy to try to trade the Equinox in for a newer vehicle under warranty.Customer Answer

The vehicle was NOT fully serviced like they say it was. It was misfiring the day I brought it home AND their OWN mechanic had told me that it wasn't properly serviced I that the sales department should have never sold me the car. I'd like to see all the documentation that states that the car they sold me was in working order, safe to drive, fully serviced, and had no issues when I bought it.
When I had the car type down to find issues, a lot of the pieces were broken and busted. Some pieces shattered at the touch of trying to pick them up or move them. That's years of damage not just 10 months.
And I'm not the only one that Damerow sold a lemon to. Ive heard many other horror stories from their customers AND even other **** Dealers who have said that they have also gotten Damerow clients come to them due to Damerows poor service. They constantly lie to get sales and do underhanded methods. And they never take responsibility. Every time I came to them with an issue, they would always make it my fault. Stalling and misfires within the first few weeks of owning the car should not happen if their are no issues.
Attached is just the beginning of the pieces that had shattered in my vehicle. I was told that it was a miracle that my car was even running and that no one was injured with all the cr*p that was wrong under the hood.
When i took it the their shop, they didn't fix it. The engine light came back on and I called the mechanics and they never called me back. All I want is for Damerow to correct the issue since I've been telling them about it from day one. They should have to pull my credit again to give me a running and save to drive car if they sold me a lemon and that it was their mistake in doing so.

1/8 I texted Damerow for lease buyout options. They replied "It's basically just turning in the lease & possibly switching it to (a new car)". **** Credit said to complete the buyout at Damerow. 3/18 I advised salesman ****** that my lease was ending in a few ********** want to buy the leased car. I agreed to consider a new vehicle if the deal included ending my lease. I selected a car & again said Id buy if terms made sense & we closed out my lease. My son came to help consider options presented & was witness to the subsequent in-person conversations. ******* joined & presented an offer on the new car which included lease termination but the monthly pymts were too high. They both repeatedly stated "but you'll be out of your lease & in this great new car." I asked for longer term & lower payments. They offered a longer term with very high interest. I declined & they again said "but you'll be out of your lease." I said Ill just buy the leased car. They countered with different car lease proposal, which I outright rejected. I restated Ill just buy my leased car. They offered a loan with acceptable term, interest rate & monthly payments and said again that I would be out of my lease. I accepted the offer, filled out the papers presented & left with the new car. A full SIX DAYS later (3/24), at 2pm ******* left a voicemail, "we are running into a snag with the lease." On the phone he said theyd made a mistake & didn't know I had 8 more payments on the *********** have to make those pymts in addition to the new car loan! I spoke to ******, who said my only two options were to pay the 8 pymts or they could roll those payments into the new car loan -- On a car I dont even have anymore!! Only when pressed did he agree that I could return the new car & buy out my lease. They presented ridiculously high interest rate for the buyout through their ********** refused. I would like Damerow to follow through on the agreement they made.Business Response

10-27-3022 Today we brought in our Explorer for a routine oil change and transmission service. We were told the ***** fluid was so filled with shavings and they refused to service it and it probably wouldn't make it out of the lot. Also, our car was functioning when we brought it in, but now. multiple malfunctions not related to the transmission kept us from driving to another shop. After telling not one but two advisers we were told that it wasn't on them. So we popped the hood and the air cleaner was not mounted. Suprise, now *************, and we drove to Ammaco, and they found no shavings in the ***** fluid, just needed to be serviced. I have been a customer of the shop for years and it just shocks me the absence of customer care they displayed toBusiness Response

I am writing this in hopes to bring attention to ********** Company that is acting unethically. To give you the short story, about a year ago my husband and I went into Damerow **** and ordered a **** Bronco. We put a deposit down, signed a purchase agreement and were eventually assigned a VIN number tied directly to our name. Fast forward to recent weeks, we were notified that our vehicle was finally being shipped and would arrive soon. We waited to hear from Damerow **** about our vehicle but never got a call. Yesterday we contacted the dealership and asked if the car had arrived. Come to find out, they decided to sell it to someone else. If you look into this, it is a big issue that is happening in the **** community. Dealerships are not abiding to their agreements and selling cars out from underneath people who have put in custom orders. And, instead, selling them to other people at higher price points for their own personal gain. Now, after waiting almost an ENTIRE year for the car. They provided us with no options other than to start the order process all over again. ********** Company and Damerow **** need to be held accountable!Business Response
Date: 10/24/2022
Good morning,
I apologize for the mistake with your order, we did not have your last name in the system. We should have held the vehicle longer until you contacted **, as ********** Company communicates directly with people as the vehicle travels through the process. All that being said, we were able to re-allocate a different Bronco and deliver it 10/23/22 to *******. I am told by the sales crew that all is forgiven at this point and the issue has been resolved to her satisfaction. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Sincerely,

I currently have a leased vehicle from this dealership. I get constantly contacted to trade my lease in for "Top Dollar" since they want used cars on the lot. I have a 1.5 door Ranger and need a larger vehicle, so I decided to take them up on the offer. I did my research and **** does not have a current lease deal in my budget. When I went to Damerow they wouldnt give me an offer unless I test drove a new vehicle. I told them they have nothing I can afford. Why waste the time. They insisted. 3 hrs later I was given offers of $750, then $600 and then $475 a month. At this point, they got upset that I wouldn't sign a new lease. I was very polite and let them know I cant afford that. I thanked them for trying and let them know that even though I'd love an Explorer, there are other SUV's at a better lease price. They literally told me how good they were being to me by getting close to MSRP. Then they hit me out of left field. Now they started telling me that I have no choice and I can't take my lease anywhere. This is not my first lease - so I thought they were just using scare tactics. Then they magically adjusted my payoff on the current loan up 6k. At that point, I reminded them that all I wanted was to sell my car. What "Top Dollar" value will you pay for the truck. They were no longer interested in my vehicle. I went to another dealership the next day to find out that ***** due to the pandemic inventory issues, has somehow superceded my lease and made it that I can only sell my vehicle to the dealer of origin! Damerow can now refuse to let me sell my car to whomever. Or can add whatever amount they want to my payoff. Thats exactly what they did. They told the dealer I was at, that they just increased my payoff 10k if they want to buy my vehicle. That gives them my equity and puts me upside down. So because **** somehow can do this - and because my dealer is greedy - I have lost 2 of my 3 options in my lease contract. HOW IS THIS LEGAL!?Business Response
Date: 10/18/2022
Good morning,
We typically request that a guest selects and drives a vehicle before we present an offer, we want to make sure that the vehicle drives and is equipped as desired. Mistakes can be made by either party if we are just looking at paperwork, not an actual vehicle. We made a very aggressive offer, but as you mentioned we do not have a lease for your budget if it is the same as when you acquired the Ranger. It looks like you were looking at an Explorer, which is a much more expensive model over the Ranger, which also drives the payment up. Our understanding of what prompted your visit was your desire to trade in for a 3rd row SUV, not to simply sell your Ranger. Your lease is through *************** not the dealership. You are free to sell your Ranger to anyone, but according to the terms of the lease, the lease must be paid off at Damerow **** first. **** has not superseded your lease. We do not **** this amount up by a single dollar...you may be confused about the dealer purchase option price option, which we are not interested in. Other dealers would also have to pay this higher price, per the contract with Ally. This would result in the dealership paying Ally $37200, which we will not do. You have the option of paying the remainder of your payments and dropping the Ranger off, or you may also purchase the Ranger from Ally, through the dealership, at $29631.65 which is valid until 11/14/22. It sounds like you did not understand these options when you were here, so I apologize on behalf of the staff for that. You have not lost any of your options. We are not a greedy dealer that has taken your equity or raised your payoff whatsoever. Simply bring us a check and we can pay off your lease without a ****up. I wish we were able to communicate this with you clearly when you were here.
Sincerely,
*******************************

I am rejecting this response because:First off, I told your staff up front that I do not want to buy a car. They would not give me a quote on my vehicle for trade in unless I purchased or attempted to purchase another vehicle. After trying for ********************************* quote - I agreed to just play their game. As far as the dealer purchase option, I went to what is apparently your ****** ******* location. They are the ones that informed me that **** is requiring the vehicle to go to a **** store. Interestingly enough - they provided me a payoff 3k higher than your delaership. So you see why I do not trust any of your figures. You folks are trying to make money off of my lease above and beyond what you can make by selling it.
I have reviewed my lease papers which I have on file. There is no proviosion that blocks me from selling my car to any party or dealer. This is something that **** has come up with and you are enforcing at choice with the lease company. Hence, when you thoought id sign a deal there was no mention of this fee. When I didnt sign, it went up to 36k. Then out of spite your delaership quoted an addition 3k for 39k payoff the next day to *******. I would like you to highlight and attach where my lease states a penalty for a dealer trade in. As far as I can see you are creating these figures. Ive spoken to several other **** dealers and they have never heard of these trade in fees you are charging.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.I do want to thank you for going to lengths you did to resolve the situation. You offered to buy the car without a deal and resolving the questionable lease fees from ALLY, which was enough for me. I am honestly very grateful for the deal you made me on a new vehicle. Lowering the price to the extent you did in order to fit what my payment restrictions are was honestly above and beyond. I do recognize that you did not have to do that and took a major loss in order to work with me.
